I’m 65 and have dropped an 850lb bike on me and did not complain. Sometimes in life we try to make something or someone what they are not. I say sell the bike and move on. I would enjoy having the very bike at the price-level he paid. But don’t complain at this level. Really, I think it’s a ploy to get views...have a great new year. Blessings to all. Peace.

I had two C90T Suzuki Boulevards over a 20 year span. Best motorcycle out of 8 others I have owned, including 1982 Goldwing. My wife and I went coast to coast on long trips on these motorcycles . Low maintenance with oil cooling. Just put it away in the winter and start up in the spring. Of course change oil as needed. The long wheel base made for a comfortable highway ride.

Try changing your posture.. a lot of cruiser riders kind of slump and that puts a lot of pressure on lower back.. most comfy bikes I have ridden have taller handlebars.. such as a heritage style.. but lacking that try focusing on sitting upright chest up back arched as if you are standing.. it works for me.. or scoot farther back in seat and lean into handlebars kind of sport bikeish.. hope it helps..

In another video somehwere, someone mentioned that the earlier models of this version tended to get vapor locked after shutting off the engine sometimes...if one of the pistons stopped at TDC, it didn't like to start. Also on the later models, the handle bars are set further back for more comfort

I did my L5/S1 back in 2000 and have since developed chronic thoracic degen. I hadn't ridden for years except for occasional jaunts on my VF750F which wrecks me. Last year a mate bought a m50 as a second bike and when I had a ride I thought, damn, this is the go. In Feb tis year I bought a c50 and am loving it. It's a little underpowered and underbraked but comfortable enough for a full days ride. Being a naked cruiser, wind over 1000kph is a problem but I don't do freeway riding, just stick to country back roads really. All in all, for a crook back, I find it pretty good.

I have the 2015 M50 and I don't vibrate until 70+mph. Is the issue ALL cruisers or you? Hmmm? Modded bikes do change the ride so maybe your bike has a unique ride. I also questioned the rear drum but without ABS it works fine. Cruisers don't instantly go and stop and often times that is what the young want.

Naked bikes are great, my FZ09 was great for standing while riding. For comfort and distance, standing is a must in my opinion, adventure bike perhaps?
I've gone from a FZ09, didn't like the highway performance because it's beating you up with wind.
I had a ZX14r. It wants to kill you and break every speed limit law every chance it can.
Currently looking for a 3rd bike, I'm thinking KTM 890 Adventure R. Extremely comfy with great wind protection.

I totally understand what you mean. I had always rode Hondas, cb's, shadows, etc. I wanted a big cruiser, so I sold the other bikes and bought a harley road king. It was an amazing highway cruiser, comfort, power, handling was all amazing...but...in the city, it was like riding a Cadillac on a go-kart track, it and I hated stop and go, inclined parking lot entrances/exits and long lights. Sure I could have gotten used to it and perfected my style, but thats not what I paid for. When you pay thousands for a bike, or anything for that matter...it should be exactly what you want it to be.

I had a similar experience with my 1st & last cruiser. Sore butt, back & legs & it felt weird to corner. Brakes were too weak to prevent crashing into a truck that didn't see me & pulled onto the road. Some said my cruiser was too small (650) so I'm thinking I may rent a larger cruiser 3 days & see if I like it. If a 800-900 is too small I'll pass. I don't need a bike that weighs over 650 pounds. Some say I need at least 1,300cc to ride highways. I do 80 mph all day on my Honda NC700X & it's only turning 4,000 rpm. 670cc.

The CB500X was just on the smaller side for the kind of riding I do, hopefully the Vstrom 650 will fill that niche for me perfectly.

Hey yo, I got a 2013 Silver M50 Boulevard, same bike as yours but the sportster version/trim and the turn/lean is kinda wonky, I had no probs with leaning other bikes before, and my hips and upper legs do get cramps. essentially people like us need the riding position closer to that like the UJM where our legs can be closer together. My previous bike was a 1979 CB750, and I've ridden others.
If possible find someone with a 1970's cb750K/F to compare the c50 to. Your issues/My issues:The Brakes There definitely is something wrong with yours, My front and back are all good and strong (front can just pick up the back end). Lean, actually I believe I know the "iffy" feeling when leaning in turns, my brike is a throttle type, that means that do to the driveshaft and engine breaking I have to keep me hand throttled up to maintain speed, this bike doesn't coast at all and that is especially true on turns. This bike forces you to keep the perfect throttle position on curves and turns.
Despite saying all that, this is an excellent bike.. but.. I really think I should have bitten the bullet and gotten a more UJM style bike, my rides would've been more comfortable. At time of purchase March 2016 if I waited a few weeks I would have seen the Yamaha SCR900, or test ridden the SR400 (though the sr400 has the shifter closer to under the seat making you ride with your feet slightly under you, not a prob for some) or the big one, at time I could have picked up a 2014 CB1100 still crated at the dealer for $5000. I didnt think I needed 1100cc's but now I know I missed out. My advice start looking for some modern UJM's (Universal Japanese Motorcycle) Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda have them you just need to know how to spot them.
Fpr some reason the Japanese manufacturers are afraid to sell them, it's like they don't want people to think they are old fashioned which is a shame.

I with you on the seat not being comfortable. I have a bad back and tail bone to begin with though. I’m going to go to more straight bars first though before I give up on it. Kinda wishing I bought a sport bike now because of it. But not giving up just yet. Cheers

Sounds like a sciatic nerve issue.

YES! I had same bike and SAME back problem. NOTHING in the world hit my tailbone like the C50 did. Literally as if I broke my coccyx. Just from riding. Weeks of pain. Crazy. Had to get rid of it.

Be nice, folks. He's just making a video and sharing his thoughts. I think cruisers can cause some backache after long rides, depending on the rider's height, although it's not that big a deal. For its price the C50 is fantastic, and looks like a far more expensive bike. I've had three C50s and one M50 over the years. Currently own a 2010 with only 23000 KM on it, that I bought late last year. Looking forward to getting to know it this season. Ride safely all...

I've never ridden a Suzuki C50 before, but I have had a lot of cruisers over the past several decades, small ones, midsized ones, and large ones, and found them all to be very comfortable. I'm 65, and started riding on the street at 16. I've had over 40 bikes, over 2/3 of them have been cruisers. I like cruisers because they are by far the most comfortable bikes out there. I have ridden about a million miles, including several Iron Butt rides. All of my long distance rides were done on cruisers. I have owned a couple of Goldwings, but they were too much like driving a car to me. I want to be out in the wind. I don't use windshields and didn't like the huge fairings on the Goldwings. I like to sit completely upright, with most of my weight supported by the seat, my knees at close to a 90 degree angle, and a good bend in my elbows. The one thing I absolutely don't want is any of my weight supported by my arms and shoulders, and my neck bent way back to see where I'm going. My favorite midsize cruiser is the Kawasaki Vulcan 750. I have well over 200,000 miles on them. I've had 2 new ones and one used one. They are super comfortable, and, with 66hp, much of it at higher rpms, they do great on the highway. If you are cruising at 70-80 mph on the highway (which is only about halfway to redline) all you have to do is whack the throttle open. They have a great top end rush.

s50 is a cruiser for you then, super peppy, mid controls, and drag bars.

Dude you were constantly complaining about that you didn't like this bike, but it took you almost 6 minutes to come up with a reason. You know how that sounds right?

Sometimes, it's just not your ride. Many dealers don't allow test rides and even if they did, you need some seat time to go through all the terrain and environments you ride in. It can be things obvious like foot peg placement, or things like you just don't like the feel of it. I like you didn't revert to the obvious "it's too small" - I had a Vstar 950 which obviously had more power but was also heavier and much less manoeuvrable than the C50 - the shifting on the C50 is much more precise and it has the shaft drive.

I've owned one cruiser and had the same problems with my butt and back. Switched quickly to a standard bike setup.

The issues you mentioned, especially the hips, were what I had with my Honda Rebel 500. It was a lot do to with it being narrow and mids on it, went to a HD street 500 and had no issues. But I prefer the wider stance of something like this/C90 or the Kawasaki Vulcan 900/1500.
The reason for my first to bikes are that these were the only size we can have as a "learner" rider here in the land down under (Australia).

I’d love to see you ride a Shadow 750 and see how it compares. I always thought the C50 or M50 would be a great bike.
I think Cruisers are pretty great, but my ideal mix of bikes would be a cruiser and a adventure bike.
I wish more of us could own a bike for a few weeks and see how it feels.

I'm 74 years old and love my c50t. Rode it 402 miles in one day last week with no problems. Seems the younger generation whines about everything.
