    those intake rubbers will stay in position without anything like the rings 99% of the time long enough to get the carbs back in easily Especially if you warm them up with a hair dryer or a heat gun . Now if you can show me a way to get them out that takes less than an hour I'll be impressed as ****. I've done three sets of these beasts in the last two weeks LOL

    • @michelp1398
      @michelp1398 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Getting them out takes me 5 minutes per rubber. Untighten the coiled spring from the inlet rubber. Grab your heat gun or hair dryer and heat the rubber until it is hot. And when I say hot I mean really hot. Pry the rubber out of the airbox and carb inlet using your fingers. You can also wrap a piece of rope around the rubber and pull it out. Once out with the carbs removed, the rubbers van be placed back in the airbox. Fold them back, fixate with the ring for easy carb slotting once you are all done. Hot air is the key.

    I was able to get a fingernail under the bushings to lift them from the bearings just enough to get a pry tool between it and the bearing. Is it better to pry them out from outside, or hammer them out from the inside? Thanks!

      I just purchased a new pair of the Boundary boots, and they are going to work with my binds, however they are going to need slight modifications to make them work. I am going to have to flip my binds due to the release tab being on the opposite side on my boots, and I may potentially need to shave a bit of metal off the heel hook on my boots in order to make the clip on the binds grab the boot properly.

    Here's a 2022/23 update of this question: Will the latest versions (2020/21 and later) of the K2 Clicker boots work the the older (~pre 2013) K2/Shimano Clicker/Kwicker bindings? K2 officially says "No.", but has anyone tried this? There are some hints online that K2 Clicker X HB boots can be slightly modified - removing some of the material at the bottom of the boot? - to be compatible with the older/original bindings.

    • @goodpools
      @goodpools ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish we knew!! As far as what K2 tells us, it’s actually not black and white. Their comparability notice only mentions that “Clicker C HB bindings are only compatible with Clicker X HB boots.” It doesn’t say the same for vise versa, I think they are hinting at the fact that the newer X HB Clicker boots are compatible with the older Clicker/Shimano bindings. However, I did read a comment of someone who bought one of the newer “2x BOA” K2 Clicker boot (they never said which model exactly) and that this boot wasn’t compatible with the older binding and needed to be modified.

      Hello George, this was a 2012 SMT if I remember well. The spacer is indeed an integral part of the sprocket support. If you have not got one perhaps it was never there before or the previous owner forgot to put it back in after doing a bearing overhaul.

      I also have no spacer on my 2010 SMT. Looking inside, I can see the "bottoms" of the 2 bushings touching each other, so not even space for a spacer. Good and clear video. I simply add I would clean completely the empty box with a vacuum cleaner before replacing the new filters , and specially the hole which brings air from outside (as deep as possible with a hose). You can find a lot of dirty things at this place , stopped here by the filters, but you cannot see them. Some of them falled on the floor as you removed the old filters. Look at this video, th-cam.com/video/epaTkWEpZEU/w-d-xo.html , another box model with vertical air inlet , so dirt falls immediately when you remove the filters (yours is horizontal so dirt can stay)...but sometimes there's much more dirt . Depends how you use the car. Friendly

      Mine had the same issue. Took ten minutes of wiggling to get it out of the tank. The rubber piece at the the base of the gas cap appears to have swollen with age, and catches on the black nylon(plastic) trim ring on the opening of the tank. I used a razor to remove a tiny bit of the (red/orange) rubber piece on the bottom of the gas cap that appeared to be “flared” out, then I removed the black nylon (zytel?) trim ring and used a dremel with a sanding bit to increase the inside diameter just a bit - just don’t overdo it. Gas cap now works perfectly.

    Would take off the caliper to check and clean if necessary. Maybe even use ceramic grease for those braking pads

      Putting grease on the back of the pads is not a good idea. The pads become hot enough to melt the grease which could then run out onto the disk or your wheel.

    I have no idea what you're saying, how did you get it open?

      Use a sharp blade and "saw" the case open.

    It’s funny to see all comments about how great my 20 year old board is. You poor poor fools

      Ur absolutely correct---new technology is far better. However, as with women, men get emotionally attached to their boards---i've been married to my K2 Eldorado for 22 yrs now & cannot possibly divorce her, even if she injures me :/

      Amazon compadre. But there are a lot more shops where you can buy this type of battery. Success!

    Have fun cleaning ice out of those lugs. This is garbage recycled technology, if you can still touch your toes you need to be strapping in.

      More to it than that. I rode the originals back in the day on a rental and had a good time with them but was just learning as I was a skier. So when I got back into winter sports 22 years later and decided to go with snowboarding I went straight to K2 and saw they had updated them. I bought them. Fighting with ice and snow at least every other time clicking in. Then after a year and a half the soles started to rip off the boot. I bought another set of boots because I really liked the convienence of clicking in on the chair and just riding off. Less chance of falling when you're locked in which has saved my ass more than once when my wife, daughter, or nieces and nephews have gone down exiting the chair and I just ride off and laugh. So another season and a half go by and the soles start to rip off the new compass clicker boots I had purchased. K2 customer service had taken all the info they needed on the Starks I had originally bought then ghosted me so no replacement on them. After the Compass' started to do it I was beyond upset. I took them back to the ski shop I purchased them at and had them call K2. K2 said "sorry" they're 3 months passed a year old so we won't do anything" So I went and demo'd a set of Burton Step On's. OMG, they're so much better. Board feel is better. Response is better. I can still click in on the chair if I want. There is zero issue with ice and snow getting jammed up in the mechanisms. Sure you'll get some on the foot bed if you're skating but you just brush it off with your glove just like a strapped binding and in you go. I haven't ridded a strapped binding in 26 years and then it was just 1 or 2 runs. But my wife has and she love's her Burton Step Ons. Says they feel the same and I believe it because we bought them on the mountain 2 years ago. We went straight to the top as soon as we walked out of the door and ripped down the mountain like nothing had changed. In fact I think she was a little bit faster as the boot held her foot better than the K2 Contour boots she was riding in the Burton Escapade bindings.
