The 144000 are the first fruits of the resurrection. And the first resurrection happened at the crucifixion.

It would be heartbreaking not to attend your wife’s funeral! What we have done when my father-in-law (ex elder but active JW) passed away, we were in charge of the funeral itself, we did it our way! We would not allow the witnesses to have their memorial talk in the funeral home. They did that afterwards in the kingdom hall and we did not attend that service for the same reason. The funeral itself was lovely, a lot of memories, photos and a gathering with true friends, no strings attached! Don’t let the witnesses take charge of something so valuable.

To understand the history of the Bible, one must think of the reality of actual early Catholic Christians. Non-Catholics don't think properly about the reality of these things. One didn't find these writings anonymous in a book store. We once had many more writings that made many incidental statements that all square up into a reliable history. And the second pope, Clement of Rome, was the first to organize all handed on to him to avoid losing the Apostolic Tradition.

It really doesn't matter WHAT the argument is, the Bible is the claim and NOT the evidence, so using it as evidence for anything is entirely invalid. I can use Marvel comics as evidence for events in Marvel universe all day long but it's meaningless when trying to make claims about reality, even if it turns out to be something that is actually true it still wouldn’t be a valid line of thinking.

You're whole discourse on early Christians is fantastically wrong. I'd point you to the writings between Pliny the younger and Trajan (112 CE) as an easy refute. You have a decent argument on the 144k.

Your saying to be part of the 144,000 you have to be killed it doesn't say the 144,000 in the print your just adding the the number and saying it but it doesn't say the 144,000, that's not proof not even close.

The Governing Body are not presently, martyrs being persecuted for their faith. They sit at the top of a pyramidal organization, and enjoy life and a wealthy lifestyle. Some rank and file JW's, are being persecuted and put to death in some countries, but they're not counted amongst the 144 000. Only a small rest of the 144 000, are supposedly and exclusively members of the GB. The rank and file JW's are to be known having an earthly hope, they're not annointed, and are no part of the 144 000, and don't go to Heaven, but it's these last ones which are being persecuted. Weird, isn't it ? Something's wrong in the JW theology, and this is not the only wrong thing they have. They've got a lot more !

Years ago I have seen a group of 3 JW in the streets so I asked them to tell me what the Gospel is. They responded and talking about the commandments, Christ's ministry and the Kingdom etc. So I repeated what they said and asked, so this is the Gospel? Can you repeat? So they did. Then I quoted the Gospel according to Paul, who said: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, and in which you stand firm. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures And I said to them: The bible teaches, that if anyone comes to you with any other Gopel, they may be accursed. (Galatians 1:8-9) But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse! 9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse. The Elder there said "Correct, but..." I cut him off and said: Well, you did not mention any of these things. I even asked you to clarify the Gospel twice and repeated what you said and you confirmed it. It stopped them dead. None of them was able to say a word. Sorry about your wife, that sounds bad for you. The cult will focus on the GB if you did attend any funeral, it's NEVER about the person, always goes back to them.
