Sometimes I fall into the grey area towards atheism. Because I think there had to be a Creator. But can’t understand some stories in Bible. There were Roman not holly and Greek mithology.
It’s seems that some characters in the Bible are parallel to characters in mithology: Samson = Hercules, and others even Jesus - Herus and many others.
And I really think once we die, that’s it game over like any other living thing: animals and plant.
If there is an afterlife just hope see people that are part of me and if there is judgement day which according to the Bible is individual: I will defer myself because the Book is not clear.
The book is so prone to interpretation that it’s not clear.
Thanks for your video and your point of view!
    In the meantime:

I,m atheist when it comes to man made religion but still agnostic about life after death Migdalia because I admit the thought of never existing again for all eternity is scary but there was a eternity of non existence before I was born, my mother died in 1962 aged 30 when I was only a 1 year old ,I,d love to meet her in a after life along with my dead big sister and Dad ,but is it just wishful thinking ?

Jesus most definitely is a Roman god for sure, Romans tended not to have their own gods until that, point they borrowed from other cultures like the Greeks and Etruscan's and whatnot. So it's good that they eventually came up with something original of their own and he was a smash hit to say the least.

Interesting Taz , I saw a interview with Jewish people in Israel asking them ,,why they don't believe in Jesus ?,, The ones who weren't Atheist or Agnostic said ....He,s not the old Testament Messiah ....I often wondered Taz why Jesus never apologised about his Father's blood thirsty behaviour when Jesus was so ,,turn the other cheek ,and love and feed your enemies the Roman invaders and pay back Caesars things to Caesar ,very Pro Roman and anti Jewish Religious Leaders.

Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christians. Let's begin with that.
Now, there actually were Jews who proclaimed Jesus rose from the dead by mid 30s CE. Why do we know this? The Corinthian Creed (1 Corinthians 15) has been stated by most scholars that it was developed within a couple years of Jesus's death. So, let's stop with this nonsense that the Romans, who persecuted Christians heavily, invented Jesus.

  • @ChrisHill5650

There may actually have been a Jesus (i.e. an actual person), but as there isn't any evidence for his existence I think it's unlikely.
I also think the Roman connection is slightly dubious. It's far more likely that originally the Jesus character was a supernatural idea which over time (probably decades) gradually developed into a real person in the minds of Christians as the religion grow. This of course is not the only possibility, as any combination of supernatural and real travelling holy-men might also be its origin. But really why should we care, if a small (unimportant) part of the religion is based on real people, as long as we recognise that it's mostly a fairy tale?

      @@mistermurtad2831
If you're talking about the existence of an actual person, then the evidence I require is the same as I'd ask for to validate any other historical character, but for a God (or the son of a God who does extraordinary miracles) then I would require extraordinary proof.
I don't say that I know that the Jesus character wasn't based on one actual real man, I just think it's very unlikely.
All the indications I've seen suggest that the most likely explanation is a of supernatural character who over time (decades?) evolved into a real person in the minds of his followers. Now admittedly indications are not evidence, but as we don't have any real contemporary evidence, it will have to do.

There is proof though, the Talmud talks about him as leading Jews estray, Josephus the historian spoke of him, there is evidence of his existence outside of the letters his followers wrote. There is no strong archaeological evidence of poor people who don’t make great monuments so what exactly is evidence? The eye witness accounts written in their own lifetime of having known him and the legacy he left isn’t enough, historians aren’t enough and the Talmud of Jews who hated him even mentioned him. You think that was made up? If that’s made up then which historical figure isn’t made up?

@@ChrisHill5650 You seem to deny his existence as a man and place a higher burden of proof for that. I understand you wanting evidence of his deity, but you stated it as if he never existed at all.
What do you mean by supernatural? I would expect a cynic to believe in the possibility of a man obtaining supernatural claims over the years instead of the other way around.

The Flavions with the help of Joshephus the Jewish historian invented Christianity after the Jewish Roman war 66 -70 AD then it moved east ,and Emperor Constantine adopted Christianity around 120 AD , there were many prophets proclaiming the end of the world in the 1st century and Jesus was one of them ,a Jesus lived and died ,yes .The Bible Jesus is literature not history, written in the AD 70,s and back dated to the AD 30,s but a lovely work of literature anyway ,to manipulate and control the masses to worship the Roman Emperor Titus Flavious and unite the Holy Roman Empire. Christianity is still used today to control and manipulate the masses to pay their taxes.

Oh but I can and I can also use extra-biblical evidence to show that they are trustworthy. It turns out that Acts had the location of an island off the coast of Turkey (don't remember the name) a lot closer than any Roman historian. This is just ONE of the fascinating things that is provided by extra-biblical evidence. And critical scholars are often not Christian, yet they all nearly agree that the Corinthian Creed developed within after Jesus died. And why are you hiding behind another comment, rather than reply to mine? Seems rather unfair. I'm glad I saw this and was able to respond but please respond directly to me, if you want to actually engage. There were so many things wrong in your first 10 minutes I pretty much had to stop, because there's so much bad information. I encourage to really think critically here. You are saying Paul, Peter and others weren't killed prior to the Flavian Dynasty? That people wouldn't have known that these weren't real men? You were so controlled by a cult that now that you're out of one you entered into another... the Jesus is a Myth cult. You refuse to think critically still.
I can understand to some degree denying Jesus rose from the grave (he literally, physically did) but as Bart Ehrman says repeatedly, Jesus of Nazareth existed and he died via crucifixion at the hands of Romans. To think Jesus never existed at all is to be in that cult like mentality. It's denial of facts.
This is actually one of the reasons I abhor cults so much. They counterfeit the real Jesus so well that people need to untangle a LOT of what they had been programmed to believe about Jesus in order to see the actual Jesus that is presented in the Bible.

When Marx said that he wasn't criticising religion he was pointing out that (in his opinion) it was a support for people to get through their sometimes miserable lives. At that time Opium wasn't recognised as the evil we know it to be today, it was regarded as a way to forget your troubles (in a similar way some people use antidepressants these days).
He meant that it was useful. I of course totally disagree with him, but then again I have the extra 150+ years of hindsight to draw on.

To counter your first point, comparing Jesus to entirely ignorant as with superman, a comic, no one believes he really existed, nor is he claimed to have exist by the literature itself. With Jesus however, the literature claims he exists, people believe he exists, and there is third party evidence to corroborate his existence. Furthermore, to say that the Romans made Jesus up to suppress the revolt fails to explain the existence of eastern Christians found in areas outside of the Roman Empire pre-Constantine.

My brother in Christ, you're simply not speaking truth here. It's not that a Jesus 'could have' existed; even secular historians largely agree on Jesus' death and crucifixion. To dismiss all of the evidence for his life and death is akin to dismissing all the evidence that Socrates existed or akin to dismissing all the evidence that Miyamoto Musashi existed.
In fact, you have more evidence for Jesus' life and death than you do either of the aforementioned. It's just lazy arguing at this point.
