My experience doing my front suspension on may Tahoe. Rusty parts and seized bolts caused lots of delays and headaches! In the end, it was all worth it.

I bought a 2005 Tahoe for only $6500. Great deal? Huge money pit?

I just bought my first Chevy Tahoe with the 5.3. I am going to learn how to work on these things, or go broke paying a mechanic.

General Grabber AT2 - After one year of use
The fuckin truck is 20 year old shit gets old!
It still runs good though.
That wire on the hood is for the antenna ground
I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe. It runs amazingly good. I had the same problem with the heater. There’s an actuator under the temperature control panel floorboard Don’t have to takeoff the dash off easy axis. The bad thing that happens is that the temperature control actuator goes out my Tahoe has 275,000 miles and running strong. It’s all about the history of the ownership. If They took care of it I got mine for $2000.
When you tapped the cv joint in , did you feel/hear a click or pop letting you know that sat right in its place?
No. I really did not notice or look for that.
Great trucks if she not asking for serious work engine replacement transmission or transfer case or front end work then she is good to you if you buy 15-20 yr old vehicle you gonna put 2grand in it minimum
Yikes....
Probably was the AC clutch stuck in the close position
It was . It's all fixed now. Running great!
Bidenomics is working 1:02
You are right about the junk people are trying to sell as if it's new. I was trying to buy a truck people were asking 15,000 for a 20 year old, rusted out truck with 200,000 miles on it. I'm like you must be crazy.
Couple notes, the reason you can't open the raw photo files is you need to get the updated lightroom to view the files, happens with all new higher end cameras In terms of video you won't be able to open the clog video files since there h.265, you can simply convert them to h.264 and you'll have no problems Last tip for battery is to just plug in a 25w pd powerbank which will charge the battery and run the camera.
Thanks! I will try both of those techniques!
Changed out my broken front handles worked out great. If you buy them on line make sure they have metal back plate. 33 bucks on line for both. Plus watch alot of u tube videos helped a great deal
This is all bad hahaha
God thank you so much, I’m saying goodbye to this piece of shit fan clutch as well- just a big old PAIN. Love the broken fan shroud too, it’s damn hard to get in there to change that pump. I ended up removing the hole damn electric fan and radiator in one piece- just to get that stupid fan clutch and water pump out TOGETHER cause I didn’t have the tools to separate em- never swore more in my life. Thank you thank you 🙏🙏 I sleep well knowing I don’t have to put that shit back in. Well yet, at least...🙌
Thank you! Yes, I never had any overheating problems after losing that fan. It made no difference. Probably freed up some horsepower too!
Did you ever consider asking somebody? That actually knows what the hell they're doing to maybe give you a hand because you clearly don't have a fucking clue
Not a certified mechanic but own a 2000 GMC Yukon and do my own work mostly. Not a lemon. your List of problems are par for the course with these vehicles. If this is an active fuel management engine bad news but have it converted back to standard. If new to you go slow and prioritize repairs and contracting work get second and third opinions. Start with engine maintenance Coolant flush with refill with fresh antifreeze, Steering wheel fluid change, brake fluid change, rear diff fluid change, oil change and keep the 3,000-mile interval with likely carbon build up finally perform regular transmission fluid change if still running well. Check shocks, engine and transmission suspension support. Don't do it all at once but one fix every couple of months or so. O two sensors be aware when they go out its not usually the oxygen sensor it the Catalytic converter but occasionally repeat flush with Cataclean or some say Acetone, but I use Cataclean works for me. If the heat goes out most of the time, it's the control panel like yours or the blend door failing. Keep up regular repairs, about $1ooo-2000 per year it will last a long time. See Silverado, Yukon, Sierra all made similarly and other channels detail other issues that come up like the Tahoe. Nice video
Even after the mechanics declared it dead, I've kept it going. Most of the repairs can be done in garage by a regular guy, saving thousands of $$$!
it's the resistor. Did you replace it with a GM one?
Protip: When you get the Crown Auto drum brake rebuild kit for the XJ that has everything including the shoes and drums, it will have a few extra random pieces you will not use, and they will bag the shoes together in a way that makes it look like they are pre-packaged for the driver and passenger sides, but they are not! On each side of the XJ, the shoes have a longer breaking surface towards the rear and the shorter breaking surface shoe is towards the front of the XJ. I didn't know this since none of these kits every include instructions, so I put both long shoes on the driver side and then when I went to the passenger side, neither shoe had the dowel/pin pressed into it that that adjuster plate pivots on, and it took me a while to figure out what was going on. Had to go back to driver side and take it all apart to grab the shoe I needed for the passenger side. oops.
LOL, when you mentioned kicking the blocks out.. I kicked mine off last week, lowered the rear end and oopsies, Jeep started to roll down the driveway. That's a good tip!
6500 for a 2005 gmt800 tahoe?! how many miles?? We bought our 2002 Gmt800 escalade AWD 6.0 for 3500 and its been a beast after some normal wear n tear maintenance. usual spark plug, wires, timing belt, and radiator and new battery. And routine oil changes. It depends on who you buy these trucks from as well. We bought ours from a retired aerospace engineer and lived in the backcountry.
Escalades dont have timing belts they got a chain
I love this SUV's they are made to last. I just purchased my tahoe #3. Let me tell you they are easy to work on. They will run to 500kkk miles if you take care of them. The heater problem is blend door actuator it costs $30 dollars on Amazon. Knock sensors are easy to do another 45 dollars at amazon. Don't blame the vehicle. Blame the previous owner who had it and did a number on it.
I paid $700 for one that was missing an entire Dash it runs and drives spent $390 getting all the pieces I needed from the Pull and Pay or did I also mention it was missing seats in the most of the interior I live in Colorado you just seem like you're dumb
Post a video of jacking the car from front to back
How long it take everything
These repairs estimates are WAY high man. I know I’m late to you getting this but there is no way the dash being pulled + parts is 5000. A typical shop MIGHT charge 1000.
There are no more cheap shops in the Denver metro area. My wife's Ford Edge needed a new water pump. That bill was $4800 for a water pump! Mechanic shortage is real!
I agree ! but due to the new cars not selling well these days because of excessive high purchase price , that results in mechanic shops being booked up and often is a 2 week wait just to get a shop to look at it , they now take advantage of customers These Tahoes are great trucks that will last many decades if take good care of them
Check ignition switch
You make it look so hard
It is for me! haha!
Am I hearing some choice words at 15:00? Great video! Thanks! 👍👍👍
Transfer box brother! lol
Kind of look like they are upside down
Hey there, brother.. You did such nice video, Don't be ashamed for all the work and the time you spend on your car, Believe me, brother, you Lorne us, but the fact is all the experience you got from all good job that you have done, and that is the best way to Lorne it ... By the way, you mentioned the auto part where you ordered the bolts. Can you please let us know the name, please? ... I was focused thinking the way to remove the leftover bolt head, and i didn't catch up with the name of Store.. Thank you for Lorne us with a very good and excellent video... Very Good Job
It was a long time ago, but I believe it was through the parts counter at a Jeep dealer. I had to find a specific dealer that had them. Most did not.
M100 and M200 are underrated cameras...very compact and a lot of features and nice sensor. just paired with a 22mm canon for pocket or a 16mm sigma for studio. I also use mine with a 300mm for the moon and tele 😂
I like the M200 for streaming and with the Viltrox lens adaptor and speed booster you have a huge choice of lenses. Both of which also fit the M50 mark 2 which I use for video and content creation. With the Canon Eos webcam utility both cameras also make excellent webcams with a clean HDMI out and a very decent image quality.
Did you say how many miles were on it? Thinking about buying a 2005 with 136k on it.
Mine has 168K on it. The last owners beat it up and did no maintenance on it!
you didnt show pulling the cv axle out, which is why i was watching
I never made it that far. The axle self-removed while I was driving. The Jeep was totaled after that. Just too much damage to keep fixing and replacing parts.
You can get a front differential for a few hundred bucks but I bet it was th front driveshaft that made all the noise . And how is it only worth 400 bucks if you just spent all that on front end parts ?? I know this is an old post but also did you refill the gear oil after this job ?
How much did you pay for the parts you changed?
The person who designed the front end on these needs kicked in the nuts a few times.
"Promosm" 😩
There's no in body stabilization in this camera. The IS in the menu is for LENSES with IS.
Thanks for that. Which one are you specifically talking about?
Sorry for the confusion, there’s no IBIS in either the M200 or the M6 mkii. The setting in the camera’s menu is strictly for lenses that have IS. Kind of like the external flash menu on the M6 is grayed out with no flash mounted to the camera. I believe that there is a “digital” ibis on the M50 which crops the image and then digitally stabilizes the image vs a system that physically moves the sensor.
Thanks for the video! I feel confident I can replace my cv axles now. Didn't have the same sound as yours, just torn boots, leaking grease.
You can do it! Hammer and chisel to get the "stuck" inner part separated and the rest was easy.
great video. I took my clutch fan off buy grabbing the water pump pulley on the top with a heafty vice grip..which rested to the right of that large bolt you removed later on. then I used a pipe wrench and the nut came loose with minimal effort. i dropped the clutch fan (without it falling to the ground) downwards and picked it up from below. the belt stayed on. easy peesy..
It’s the cv joint on the front driveshaft for mine.
I have two Canon M200’s and two Canon M50 Mark II’s. On both of them I use Viltrox Speedboosters to adapt them to EF lenses. I use these EF-M cameras when I don’t want to lug around my Canon 6D Mark II or my Canon T7.
I am so surprised and happy to see Cristopher’s post about the two cameras I have been using for long time. For my old M50 I used a speed booster for my Sigma Ef-s 18-250mm lens and I have just purchased the Canon Ef-s 15-85mm. I use this camera for outdoor and other activities. My M200, boy I love this little camera, I use the 22mm fantastic little lens and the old 18-55mm lens that came with the M50 some time ago. The M200 camera setup I use is for any inside the house activities and I have been very pleased to display my photos to friends and relatives as they love my work.❤❤❤
❤😂
Do u still have it?
No. The drive shaft eventually was thrown from the transfer case. All that work was for not. :(
@@Wavetechlifeguardian damn
@@Wavetechlifeguardiancan u not just replace the bearing in the differential?
Thank you it's been so hard to find decent info on maintaining this dang car!! That's what I get for getting an 06 car in 23 I guess.
😂😂 so what antifreeze did you end up using?
You should've changed your diff bushings while you had everything apart.
Yes. I wish I would have. That might have saved the Jeep!
What a great video thank u so much
