great video. I took my clutch fan off buy grabbing the water pump pulley on the top with a heafty vice grip..which rested to the right of that large bolt you removed later on. then I used a pipe wrench and the nut came loose with minimal effort. i dropped the clutch fan (without it falling to the ground) downwards and picked it up from below. the belt stayed on. easy peesy..

God thank you so much, I’m saying goodbye to this piece of shit fan clutch as well- just a big old PAIN. Love the broken fan shroud too, it’s damn hard to get in there to change that pump. I ended up removing the hole damn electric fan and radiator in one piece- just to get that stupid fan clutch and water pump out TOGETHER cause I didn’t have the tools to separate em- never swore more in my life. Thank you thank you 🙏🙏 I sleep well knowing I don’t have to put that shit back in. Well yet, at least...🙌

Thank you! Yes, I never had any overheating problems after losing that fan. It made no difference. Probably freed up some horsepower too!

Mine has a clutch fan too. My commander specs indicate an upgraded cooling system which appears to the the clutch fan. Thanks for the tip removing the screw by the fan to remove the shroud, I was stuck three for a while. Thanks for the great video. Also, register at the official Jeep site and you can see exactly what options your jeep came with. Love it. Cheers

Thanks for this. I’m getting ready to replace my water pump while I’ve got my system drained for replacing heater hoses and a thermostat. This is helpful, especially since I’ve always been the helper to the mechanic, not the mechanic!

I am so glad it helped! It is a good idea to change the hose and thermostat at the same time too.

...I had to laugh at the first clip I saw of the fan shroud broken😂, as I'm here fighting to get the shroud off at the moment

You can get the shroud out but you have to have some patience. Have to lean one way move some lines. Go the other way move something else. It’s a pain. 😂I had to replace my radiator. Went ahead and did the thermostat while I was at it. Ran great for about a month. I’ve been trying to ignore the water pump noises, but it’s getting to where I have coolant hanging out on it now. Guess it’s time to do it.

I am currently doing the same thing on an '05 Grand Cherokee and also couldn't get the fan clutch off. Interested in how you finally got that off. Also, Colorado is the best state. I grew up in Fruita.

How’s it running with out the fan .

Great. The electric fan is plenty good enough.

Wouldn't it wear the electric fan out quicker though? I'm sure it's having to kick on a lot more since the clutch fan isn't constantly running

You don't need all that just take out the clutch the water pump comes right out

The electric fans won't get in the way of the fan clutch backing out?

Hello, this is probably the wrong video to comment on but I saw you did a video on building AR's and I was wondering if you would be interested in doing a live stream with me on the step me step process of building one?

That was a long time ago, and I think I forgot most of it. I'm no gunsmith, or mechanic. Just a hobbyist. Thank you though.
