Radiator ko 95% air samne sey milti hai aur baki thodi bahut jab gaadi chalti to gaadi kay nich sey circulate hoti hai. To islie aap nishchint rahe aur haan 3rd layer ko thoda patla kar sakte hai lekin uske bina baaki 2 layer bhi maintain nahi rah payengi. Umeed karta hoon aap meri baat samjhe honge 😊🙏

Doubt it's going to make any noticeable difference inside the cabin, most of the noise will be travelling through the firewall area since its a partition between the engine and cabin. Ye bonnet se jo sound aa rahi hai woh anyways bahar ke environment mei jaa rahi hai, isme se kaafi marginal noise cabin ke andar travel karega in the first place.
You have the right to doubt however I am not sure of the reasons for your doubts but one thing I can draw easily from what you said is that most manufacturers install hood insulation is not needed, isn't it? One really needs to understand NVH in totality but not just noise only and also detailed understanding of the travel paths and sources utmost. Different vehicles have different challenges and treatments should be accordingly. Firewall as its name suggests, every vendor puts insulation at it to stop mostly heat to have intended effectiveness of HVAC inside the cabin but it is not intended mainly for N & V. For this reason, many of us remove the entire dashboard to perform dampening from inside bro. I covered this in a separate video. FYI: I publish this video after 7000kms of ALL TERRAIN testing and feedbacks. Anyways! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍😊

The primary purpose of hood insulation is to protect the bonnet paint (which you have already mentioned in your video), in addition to this, the felt material will provide a small bit of sound absorption which can reduce reflection of sound waves in the engine bay which can help in controlling the noise inside the cabin. Which honestly be very negligible and vary according across different cars. Now that we speak of sound absorption, I noticed you've added damping material, sound-absorbing foam, and a heavy mat. The foam in the middle doesn't improve acoustics; it only provides thermal insulation, since the heavy mat reflects sound, it may actually make things worse compared to the OEM mat. 2. In my original comment have already mentioned how insulating the bonnet which isn't connected directly to the car cabin will not help in noise reduction inside the cabin. As most noise from the bonnet will be travelling directly to the outside of the cabin. Also i don't understand your comment about understanding NVH as whole, how is this insulation in bonnet do anything for vibration and harshness? 3. Yes OEMs primarily add thermal insulation, but it does act as acoustic insulation to a degree, and that is what I mentioned in my original comment as well. Also damping mats(not dampening) will reduce just resonances and bit of vibration, firewalls are already sturdy enough to have any resonances occurring, one needs some noise blocking materials like heavy rubber mats or something called as mass loaded vinyl. Not to forget damping sheets perform worse with higher temperatures , so not a good option to use for firewalls even for just vibration reduction. I got the sense that my original comment might have upset you (I could be wrong), but that wasn’t my intention at all. I’m simply trying to have a constructive conversation and exchange ideas. Looking forward to your response.
@bablusonavne384 that's what my friend is irrespective of what manufacturers do, e.g. in case of Jimny no insulation, this innovation takes place based on the basic laws of science but not based on the cost of cutting the car manufacturers do and you can't deny this fact. I presented this based real time facts I and few other real time experiences where we implement it. I never claimed this is the best insulation of this world and definitely have space for improvements but this innovative way actually reduces not only high rpm engine NVH inside the cabine but also tire harshness close to driver and that is experienced in real time not merely assumptions. In the case of Jimny there is a huge noticeable change because it does not come with any such insulation but unfortunately you can't experience it as long as either you drive my Jimny or put this into yours. So you can keep on doubting till you will net either of this. One more thing, I never felt bad about your message but do not see anything to like in your response for the same reason you didn't like in mine. But this time I am gonna like it because of your courageous reply and speaking some RATIONALS but that's not all you covered. Many thanks 😊👍🙏

@Khanna009 Honda WRV is not a very feature rich car but this is an awesome vehicle and if that fairly new then listen to your heart ❤️ because sometimes listening to your heart for good is for the family only. Also slowly your family also starts liking it and trust me they will enjoy the rides in hills or other terrains with high sitting positioning with the panoramic views. Sir very good and innovative idea for reducing the NVH levels inside the cabin, but the last layer of electrical rubber matting becomes redundant if duct tape or any other adhesive material is used as it becomes the sole point for excess heat to dissipate into therefore reducing the heat retardant property of the setup overall; also sir i feel the first layer damping should be enough if somebody wants to do it as the other two layers (sound deadening material and electrical rubber matting) reduce heat dissipation from engine bay through the bonnet surface thereby increasing the overall engine bay temperature and creating a oven in itself My two cents😅 Thank you for the innovative and creative ideas and diy projects🙏🏼
Digvijay Sahab, first of all thank you very much for the thoughtful answer. Your two cents really help to refine the innovations and let me put my point of view but HONESTLY it is not to defend the material used but to talk about the RATIONALS how things work so let me try to answer it: 1. One can try to stop nvh at first layer if there will be any difference found, I did not test it alone but we have to keep this in mind that dampening sheet is actually not to stop noise but to stop vibrations at first place of the layer it sticks but finally it results to reduce some level of noises as it blocks travel path of vibrations. 2. The second layer is needed to stop the noise completely which is not exactly for vibration and the first layer will do it for you. So second layer is true sound deadening material. But it can't withstand with accessive heat and especially in case of fire incidents. 3. Third layer, I am not saying it is the best material but one of the best I found for this work which stop heat, noise and some level of vibration and also protect two layers below. Only duct taped will not do the job, we have to have a single sheet as third layer which is super important. Now let's talk about engine bay, the engine is always a hot furnace so do not worry about it, hood or bonnet are never used for dissipation of heat in these daily cars which is a myth unless some supercars need those provisions specifically through hood ducts etc. And for this reason only we have an Engine Cooling System, if you want I can make a full video on it as well. Engine overheat never takes place as long as the entire cooling system works fine which also includes radiator and fan. Whenever we drive a car, lots of air hit from below but not from top of the bonnet to engine so here we need to understand the direction of air. Engine can't operate without an optimal temperature which is around 80-90 degrees but this is not the combustion temperature which is way higher. Last bit, after this insulation, I drove Jimny almost 7k in all weather conditions, improved it and after so many requests I received, I presented it after regressive testing. The only downside I found is that it is a little heavy and needs to keep on eye little regularly if duct tape is not peel off. Workmanship is the biggest key here. Hope this explains sir 😀 To know more about NVH, watch a detailed video on NVH just in case you did not get a chance of Sir 😊🙏 Hope, this answer to your questions and yes, your inputs are so valuable and I consider them as steps to improve further. I have Jimny Alpha AT driven just 1800 km. 4 low engagement is not consistent. some times after shifting it to 4 low , gear is not getting engaged and traction contro off indicator is on.. multiple times i have to try to get the 4 low engaged. Appropriate your advice
Can you please double check if it is really the OD off light which is flashing? Also, is there any other symptoms to add? It is great if you share the step by step how you are getting it engaged.

To engage into 4w low, I am getting into newtral, then shifting from 4w to 4W low by pressing down and pulling back the gear knob. It was working as expected. Since last two days in my farm, yet times when engaged 4w low, the vehicle is not moving forward or in reverse. If accelerate more, rotatory sound is getting but vehicle is not moving. After few attempts of re engaging 4w low working as supposed to be
That's what OD off blinking is something very different and serious. Anyways, now let me answer your query: There is a simple reason, it is not clicking into 4L properly. Actually sometimes it takes a good amount of force to engage from 4H to 4L. Make sure to click the lever into 4L properly and it will cause little noise and also ensure the vehicle is fully stationary in neutral. The key is sometimes it really needs a force to engage 4L. Thank you! Absolutely and there is no need to cut any feature apart from removing the music system from base variety. With the name of T. edition they sold it for 10.74 already. Here the bigger issue is the arrogant nature of making it in that way and somewhere Suzuki is already facing bashed from early buyers but still doable. I know you are coming from and yes offloading doesn't need many electronic components. But this is not the opinion of the majority of people is another issue. Bharat ji, In 4H, the upper limit of hill decent control speed is 10 kmph which causes it as malfunction to blink light seems normal to me. But if you still have doubts pls feel free to ask. Hope, this helps.

Punch has a water wading depth of 375mm. Although punch is 2wd and has enough of mfg defects and fit and finish issues. But this is just for knowledge comparison.
Just think about if a car like a punch has 370mm of water wading capacity, why is Jimny is having just 300mm written in specs. Here Suzuki played smartly to keep it lower so people can't claim such things under warranty. Practically, Jimny can cross even more than 500mm with the right set of 4x4 breathers. Maruti should launch ignis AWD, in hp and utrrakhand...it will sell like hot cakes among all. Even cab. I move a lot in hp and trust me most cabbies will buy it. Even for private use. They should launch ignis internaitonal variant AWD. ZETA manual for 8 lacs. Alpha manual 9 lacs. Not automatic. And keep the same current ignis smooth gearbox unlike the jimny manual gearbox which is worse than even a gypsy feel(ive driven both).
Well, that's interesting and good point you made. The issue is such automobile makers won't work for peanuts and bulk sale and high margin is the key. Setting up Ignis All Grip Auto for India like launching a new vehicle in terms of upfront cost because of manufacturing, launching formalities, many unknown/known reasons especially when a car comes in category of AWD. Least likely a case here but should be a welcome move for many but not for the majority. I have been driving Jimny since Gen2, some hands on GEN3 (not in India), now Gen4 so don't have gearbox related complaints much especially MT probably because of fact what to expect. Well maruti doesn't have to spend on R&D to develop the ignis awd. It's already there. It just needs to be introduced in the market as a pocket mountain goat and it will succeed I feel. If people can be fooled to buy compact sedans and compact suvs and micro suvs then a do it all ignis can also succeed. Just my thought. Love your channel .
@kristrails07 My friend, yes gear box is bit of harder side and most of BOF vehicle have this in this price range when we compare it with sedans or hatchbacks but it get smoother with few thousands kms of drive. Well, most European countries have this Ignis AWD and it is not about R&D, if they bring as is then it will answer import even if it only AWD system but not fully car and also if they have manufacturer it here completely then have to establish robotics and CNC according which a very costly affair apart from other heavy duty formalities, permissions, approval, register to sale 4wd version which will get registered in category of 4x4 where govt put heavy duties. to the jimmy community i have a question, does the steering feel hard or it is just mine? i have to use both hand for turning hard turn.. i cant simply glide the steering wheel with one hand.. and the temperature sign (like anchor) on board keep lid on (blue) for long time at first engine start of a day.. is it normal..? i have talk at service centre but they say/clueless nature that everything is normal.
Well my friend, welcome to JIMNY COOKBOOK SERIES. If most of the time you drive a hatchback or sedan before then the complaint about the steering is not wrong. Normally, such vehicles have heavier steering and that is quite intentional. Some are little and some are little more harder. You probably get used to it soon. If after the ignition steering relaxed much more smoother than the vehicle is in off state then the steering should be fine. Secondly, the blue christmas light on the cluster in the morning 😊, that's normal in winter ❄️ which simply says that engine is in cold state and take some precautions. After 2-3 kms, sooner or later, it goes off when the engine reaches the optimal temperature. Would lifting the suspension solve it the problem?
Short answer: Yes, because it will increase travel distance of suspension up and down. Long Answer: You probably need to investigate a few things: 1. Based on your Jimny (3D or 5D), choose the matched lift kit. 2. Do not be in a hurry selecting lift kit and first check if your Jimny is not drooping/tilting/leading towards right as I covered in other video (it is in Hindi), in desktop mode you can do auto translation subtitles in English. 3. If it is drooping, you have to select a lift which will fix this drooping as well. Some of the lift kits are also made for fixing this drooping. 4. Ensure the ride quality is not going to compromise but it all depends on your use cases with this tiny squirrel 🐿️ 5. Avoid using a buffer or spacer only solution. 6. FYI: If one of your objectives is to increase ground clearance then only the lift kit will not do that in that case you have to increase the tire size as well. 7. If 6 is true then consider the lift kit according to the tire size you are going to increase. What else, hopefully I covered most of it? Feel free to ask more! 😊👍🤝
Hello sir i bought the jimny alpha MT 2024 just today itself, i wanted to ask some questions: 1. Does the shifting become smooth after some kilometers or it remains hard and notchy? 2. Do you have problems engaging reverse gear? 3. Does your 4x4 engaging gear smoothen on use after some kilometers or it also remains hard, also is it normal if it makes a metallic click sound when shifting from 2H to 4H and 4H to 4L? 4. Did you have the bangle issue on your rear prop-shaft? And will i have it if i load the jimny with total 4 people including the driver and some luggage, in its stock tyres and suspension while driving in city or some rough patches? 5. Congratulations for the new car 🎉🤝 And welcome to JIMNY COOKBOOK SERIES. #1 #2 #3 points, yes will become a bit smoother with a gradual use after a few thousand km of drive. But a note for #3 engaging and disengaging 2H, 4H, 4L. This sounds quite normal but forget about what the manual says (language is so confusing), try to shift all those gears while you car is stationary and wheels are straight. 4H you can go on the fly but avoid it. It is your property now after you bought it 😊. Hello sir, I had one query to make. The AT Jimny I took a test drive 2nd time was somewhat slow to pick up, poor in throttle response and delayed steering response compared to the previous test drive vehicle. Although this time it was not a proper test drive vehicle but some brand new jimny with only 10km of overall run. The test drive vehicle on the previous run was somewhat 20k km on the clock. What are your views ? Was it owing to the difference in reading clocked in odometer that the engine and pickup as well steering all get refined in due course of time as compared to brand new vehicle. Kindly help me out of this quandry. I don't want to reject this legendary product so easily. Regards.
That's true that few refinements you feel with gradual use of the vehicle. E.g. many complaints in MT gears are not very smooth however become comparatively smoother after a few thousand kms. This could one reason, second reason is AT comparatively Lil less punchier than MT because you do not have any controller when to shift gear and it has only 4 speed. Hope, this answers to some extent. Let me know anything else.
@MashofreaksAuto I live far off from the hills of HP/UK i.e. almost 400kms. My main purpose of buying this machine is to smoothly travel the hills. But given the distance from my place a lot of drive is gonna be single congested roads. I'm afraid the pickup steering precision are gonna make overtakes a tiresome and thoughtful affair. How do you rate this car (AT) for highway/single road drives ? Or should I wait (hopefully) as you dicussed in your last video - for a facelift/updated jimny. However an engine upgrade is akin to horse trading needing a lot of money and time for R&D. & given the cold response suzuki has got in India it's unlikely too. How you reckon with such a possibility and for when ? I can wait. This product is worthy enough.
@Fytttttd it is not so great in overtaking but there is one way if you need that overtake at speed between 60-80 then keep the overdrive off. Otherwise do not expect great performance with AT while you do overtake on highways. This is one of the reasons I chose MT. But once you are in the hills, you will be enjoying AT more not because of overtaking but its relaxed stance of driving. Is this answer your question?
@@MashofreaksAuto I've tried that trick while test driving but that sounds like a compromised compensation. For I'm not sure OD off is gonna make a drastic difference in all overtaking situations. I wanted to go for the MT but the test drive vehicle felt like a joke. The AT seemed picking up fastly. Or could it be owing to Nexa dealers negligent attitude towards test drive Jimnys that are also contributing towards low sales. Imagine a nervous prospective buyer trying a jimny for the first time and finding it difficult to judge whether the hardship in handling is in the DNA of the vehicle itself or bad maintenance at thr dealers end. Moreover the AT & MT being completely different worlds apart, still I didn't find a single dealer who had had both the vehicles available for test drive. Though I found a lot having none of them available for a drive. Poor jimny sales aren't to market alone but the dealers' disinterest in leaving the Jimny at its own.
@Fytttttd I am not at all disagreeing with what you said and can understand. Now just think about those early buyers who did not get any demo and later faced many surprises including rollercoaster pricing. I have known this car since Gen2, GEN3 and Gen4 before it was launched in India. Suzuki never educates or tells customers or gives sufficient demos that this is the actual capabilities instead they seed a few cars to automobile journalists. I found this gray area last year so thought of starting JIMNY COOKBOOK SERIES. Anyways, let me know any other help you need.

Wonderful presentation. Most of the issues in JIMNY (Like slow pick up, turning radius issue)are acceptable but Breaking issue at high altitude and Propellar shaft issue are not acceptable. Suzuki by not coming clear on these latter issues is shooting itself in the foot.
Thanks 👍 And absolutely, high altitude braking and propshaft are two most serious concerns that should have been fixed by Suzuki. But for this every single individual has to report the issue instead of looking at each other's faces or doing workaround after market, I report these already.
Slow pick is a matter of indifference to only those who live closer to or in the hills itself. Ask a potential buyers from the plains & all they ask for is pickup. I must feel comfortable enough to drive the vehicle to hills from long distance in the plains to enjoy its capabilities. Just because it is a headturner doesnot mean we should go for it ignoring its shortcomings...
Unfortunately, this is not the understanding with many people who drive it in plains and enjoy it. A very subjective concern but I have no reason to disregard this concern for yourself.
@@MashofreaksAuto i think that's where both thars succeeded in marketing. They knew hardcore offroaders were happy with the old generation raw thars we saw in deserts. They didn't care about creature comforts. Starting from the 3door they tried to focus on the best of both worlds - mass market as well as off roading enthusiasts . They rectified the shortcomings in the 3door and made it even more lifestyle than it was ever before.
Please keep in mind, only 60000 units of first generation Thars were sold in 8-9 years of time span. Now such sales come in 1 year with Gen2. Such products take time to get matured in the market to get these sold in the right set of people, it is not Jimny's fault but Suzuki marketing failed to establish it in phase 1. Way to go Man!
