Managing bladder and preventing UTIs after SCI - T2 Paraplegic
In this video I talk about how I manage my bladder and prevent UTIs. I’ve had some experience in this, and did a lot of research to come up with my ideas that I use, so why not do a video to save you the time?!
Thanks to Jaydeep Chowdhry for the video suggestion

In this video, suggested by Ben Ellis, I talk about how I manage my feet and toes, especially where ingrown nails are concerned, and explain my management technique passed onto me from a podiatrist which I hope can help you, too.

Paraplegic opening a garage door from wheelchair
มุมมอง 1.6K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my new found technique which I wanted to share with you. I’ve only recently had a need to get into the garage and open the door up to get my handcycle in and out, and, of course, wanted to be able to do this without relying on help. So here it is; this is how it’s done, even in deep gravel! I hope you find my videos useful? If so, give them a LIKE, and subscribe for more. I make these v...

Paraplegic Physiotherapy and rehab after spinal cord injury
มุมมอง 4.3K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Ongoing rehab after a spinal injury is something which should be undertaken in my opinion wherever possible. This will improve function in the muscles that work, and perhaps for those who have an incomplete injury or are seeing improvements it will go a long way to help maximise potential gains. I only found out about Neurokinex around 5 months after discharge from the spinal unit, where I’d ha...

I then show how I can load the wheelchair into the back seats of the car enabling a passenger to sit in the front. Finally I show my methods of protecting the car to avoid scratches. I hope the video proves helpful :) Link to my original cal transfer vi...

Paraplegic transfer to sun lounger 2 - the easier version
มุมมอง 12K6 ปีที่แล้ว
After a surprisingly popular previous video of me getting on and off a really low sun lounger which kept folding on me and made life difficult, I’ve decided to do another video using a more common style of lounger, which was a whole lot easier! Paraplegic stair climbing on my bum
มุมมอง 24K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Here’s a video to show you that stairs aren’t always totally off limits as a paraplegic (I’m T2 complete injured feb 2017). It's really not that hard at all if the stairs have a good, solid banister or handrail to provide extra support. Why should stairs stand in your way as a para?! Give it a go! Wheelchair Freewheel! A must have for outdoors
มุมมอง 3.8K6 ปีที่แล้ว
If you’re an active wheelchair user, or want to get out and about more, but HATE pavements due to their unevenness and slope towards the road, look no further than the Freewheel! Definitely my most favourite piece of kit to go with the wheelchair, and it makes life so much easier travelling longer distances and over uneven terrain. Combined with off road tyres you can really tackle some horribl...

Thank you for the tips. I do not have damage to my spine, but other issues so I cannot bear weight on my left foot at times due to severe plantar faciatitis and chronic tendonitis. During these times I use a wheelchair around the house. It's too hard to use crutches, due to weakness on my so called good leg/foot. Biggest chalange is using the toilet. Your tips did help, thank you.

So I have a very small toilet room, there is no other option than to place the wheelchair directly infront off the toilet. There are no hold-ons on the wall, so how do you transfer like that, with the chair directly infront off the toilet, because right now I need people to help me with that and I don't feel comfortable with that. Any tips are welcome.

Thanks. I I want to get a wheelchair-accessible toilet (the whole room built from scratch) for a school I want to start, and though I now see this is not directly related to what kind of equipment I need to learn about, it's another thing for me to consider. Helpful of you to make this.

Actually this could cause a serious stress on your buttock. The skin there is so fragile and to leave your air cushion could cause bumps and pressures that could create pressure sores. Trust me, surgery treating a pressure sore is much more difficult than preventing one

I think your videos are inspirational! I'm a recently diagnosed MS patient with limited leg movement and sensation below the knee. Learning to navigate the world in a wheelchair has not been an easy thing, especially transferring from one object to another. You make something I know is NOT easy look completely doable and natural. Thank you for sharing your journey and life tips. <3
