    If you could make a video about how to apply for funding for adaptive equipment, e.g. Handcycles etc, that would be great!

      Hi Ash, if you're in the UK tey applying to Wheelpower for a grant. They are normally very good with things like that, and do support newly injured people with sporting goods. They can also supply additional sources of funding to help further via other charities. Hope this helps

      Brilliant idea, as in fact I seem to suffer with toenail issues too, and have a remedy for that. I’ll put out a video soon covering this. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Hey Friend
    How do you prepare meals as paraplegic? How do you basically manage kitchen for you ?

      This is a good idea; cooking. I love cooking and manage in a non-adapted kitchen. I’ll get a video out on this soon. Cheers

    I'm a wheelchair user myself BUT, i've never dealt with snow, family is planning Christmas on the mountains in France. How do you deal with the snow ??

    • @sam-lifeonwheels9861
      @sam-lifeonwheels9861  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah.. snow... yes it's a real pain at times! Compacted snow and ice is ok though. Generally we don't see any significant snow here in the southern UK but last year we had at least 2 snow events which left a few inches lying around for a few days. Great idea for a video by the way, but it'll depend when we next get snow for me to make one. I can suggest some advice though based on my experience:
      Use off road tyres if possible. The narrow wheelchair ones dig into the snow too easily.
      Get some decent leather palmed gloves. Leather maintains grip in the wet, and the snow is going to stick and come up on your tyres and push rims constantly. Use a pair of surgical gloves worn inside the leather gloves to keep your hands dry and warmer. Cold hands and pushing is horrid!
      Your legs may well get wet from the snow attaching itself to your wheels and overcoming the sideguards, so be prepared for this.
      Use a freewheel for getting about as the castors just get clogged with snow and ice, and sink into it making life hard.
      Be prepared to be the sitting duck in snowball fights!!

      I've been looking at some videos about a device someone came up with about years ago called The Mountain Trike. It's like an 'All Terrain' Wheelchair. I'm sorry I'm not very computer savvy so I couldn't post a link, but I'm sure you'd be able to find it on TH-cam. Another one that's along similar lines is called The Grit Freedom Chair.
