Great Collection, Nice Guy... Too bad those guitars will be likely blown up in the pending war with the United States.
Agreed on the cool collection mate! 😎👌 But we don't do politics round these parts 🤮👎
👍🏻👍🏻
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏
I think the russian headless guitar was a Padalka
Mate!! 😀 Thank you so much for this 🙏 I've just spent a good 20mins on their site having a look. Even though I can't find anything "exactly" the same - this is still the closest looking yet! 👍 We got the Russian part right, they're also using the same "FOKIN" branded pickups (on some models) an it's a 7 string headless. The only doubts I have is that "Padalka" seems to be stamped on all the other models, but I can't see it on this one, and I think the body shape might be very slightly different, the upper horn on this one looks a bit more rounded. I'd love to see if I can find that inlay pattern on another model - that would seal the deal. I think it very likely could be this though. 😎👍 Someone else suggested it could be a Khmelevsky, but the Padalka is the new frontrunner. Thanks again mate! 😎👌
Even a Steinway in there!!! 😍
Hullo mate! 👋😀 Yeah he had ah the top tier stuff in there like 😎👌
Between you and Ola Englund; I feel like you guys show some of the coolest guitars when y’all travel to Japan, Europe, or Asia. I’m always excited when you 2 post videos of your travel’s to unique/Boutique guitar shops. Thanks for sharing your travels with us Steve and until next time…. Stay safe, Stay metal, and don’t forget to Riff.?!💯🔥🎸😎🤘🏻👊🏻👍🏻Ps. I love all of those Dean’s and the Bat Flying V too!!
Wowza mate! That's high praise indeed! Thank ya so much!😀🙏 I barely did anything in this vid, Sheng Yin did all the work and provided all the amazing guitars and stories 😂👌
@stevecassidyguitaryeah but you were nice enough to record it so that you could share it with us! That definitely deserves high praise mate! Again I’m great full for content creators like you. Keep up the great content and until next time…. Stay safe, Stay metal, and don’t forget to Riff.?!🎸💯🔥🤘🏻👊🏻⭐️🤙🏻😎👍🏻💥
@@TheGhostLad1 Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏
Beatles...... Never Hear Of Them.....😊😊😭😭😭
😜 I've since looked into them. Apparently they had quite a few hits back in the day 😂👍
@stevecassidyguitar I recall hearing something about that, how they had 1 or 2 pretty big hits.
aha! I just saw the camera engineer!
🕵️ That's my partner Yoshi - actually forgot to thank her in the vid 🙈 She made this whole trip happen too! (Thanks Yoshi! 😂🙈🙏)
Amazing look in to the Chinese Guitar world! The "Museum guide is just a fantastic book of wisdom"!
Cheers mate! 😀🙏 Totally agree, very cool guy with a cool collection. His passion for the guitars really comes across too 😎👍
Every time I see a "museum" like this, Bonomossa's, this 1, etc, I think "just waiting for the fire". Not about $, it's a about the history of these old beauties....
That's it mate, it's the stories that makes them interesting - most of the "value" is in the story 😎👍 Although the Suhr was a great player too - excellent set up 😀👌
Congrats on hitting 5.5k subscribers. Onwards and upwards!
Awesome! Just spotted that! 🥳 Thank ya so much mate! 😀🙏
@stevecassidyguitar no worries
I collect balls , all kinds of balls , soccer, basket, golf, foot, volley , you name it, O.K. sorry just joking , interesting guitars there Chumly , dig that Gun Metal Grey Starcaster , also the Squire Esprit ( I've never seent one of them ), and the Electric Blue Charvel looks like fun ! Thanks !
😂⚽⚾🎱🏐🏀🥎👌 Thanks for watching my 2nd vid ever! 😀🙏 I've actually did vids on those 3! 😀 I've been turning that Starcaster into a weird Gretsch thing: th-cam.com/video/q133QBKpu04/w-d-xo.html I ended up getting a 2nd Esprit 😂🙈: th-cam.com/video/ginYvMFNdWQ/w-d-xo.html and the Charvel has the best switching ever (imo): th-cam.com/video/xQsF_serg0A/w-d-xo.html
Great video , beautiful collection , I love the Rickenbacker 425 , The Dean -V's , The 1980 LP Custom in Classic White , and the Russian Master guitars , the 7-string acoustic has interesting tuning peg placement , excellent ! Also his English speaking is very sufficient in explaining the collection , seems enthusiastic about guitars which I admire ...Thank You ! Yes , Very COOL !!
Much appreciated mate! 😀🙏 Totally agree - not the biggest collection in the world, but I love how each guitar has a cool story and/or unique attributes, and he's very knowledgeable about their origins etc 😎👍
Headless one is a Strandberg. Swedish, not Russian.
Cheers mate! 🙏 I sent this one in a group chat to a load of headless/chuggy fans. I thought it looked like Strandberg at first too, but everyone said it's not. Someone has commented here that it could be a Khmelevsky, so I've been looking into that. But still can't find anything to match the inlay pattern on this one. It also has "FOKIN" branded pickups (no joke 😂) which I've found out is a Russian Pickup company, so the Russian origin seems to check out. The search continues...
@stevecassidyguitar it truly is a mystery then.... definitely influenced by a Strandberg.
Some lovely pieces of history there. Perhaps not 50s - 60s type of history, but still important in shaping the modern sound. That dragon V built by a "Russian master" gives me all sorts of Yuriy Shishkov vibes... could it be one of his non-Fender related builds?
I do see what you mean about the Shishkov vibes, with the intricate woodwork inlays etc. The owner said the V was made a Russian Master who is also a drummer. Not sure if Yuriy is a drummer, but I think if it was made by him the owner probably would have said. But It still could be! 😀 I've been trying to get a hold of him for more info, but it's still only day 5 of the Chinese New Year celebrations, so everyone is busy catching up with family etc.
Very cool!
Cheers mate! 😀🙏
Interesting a lot of Russians play 7 string guitars. In the west, Mel Bay and his brother always played 7 string guitars also.
I did not know that about Mel Bay - nobody tellz me nuttin! 🧐 But yeah, not sure if you're joking 😜 but... these 7 string acoustics are actually called "Russian Guitars". Only mentioning as I just learned that myself a few weeks ago 🤓👍
What a gold mine of content that Beijing trip was for you. Heh. This was great. What a collection he's got.
Ha! Totally! I didn't expect these vids to go down so well - I've still got a couple more left in the tank too 😂👍 But yeah - not the biggest collection in the world, but each piece has a cool story and/or unique appointments 😎👌
Very cool shop.
Agreed! 😎👍 Cheers mate! 😀🙏
What a really Cool store !!
Agreed! Cheers mate! 😀🙏
Wow, what a collection! and well done to the man on his English. Can't wait for part 2.
Much appreciated mate 😀🙏 Working on part 2 now, it will probably be ages before I get it uploaded though - I'm still way behind 😂🙈 - Soz 😬
Russian guitar could be one of the Khmelevskiy guitars. The Wing variant.
Thank you so much mate! 🙏 I've just had a look, and although I can't find anything matching this fretboard, I feel like we're getting closer. If anything - at least I'm aware of Khmelevsky Guitars now! Cheers 😀👍
@stevecassidyguitar cheers, man! Sure, if it's one of his guitars, it might be just a custom ordered fretboard :)
Really like this video. I lived in China in the early 2000,s and hung out with the local metal heads and punk rockers. I like his collection it’s eclectic and reflects his personal tastes. He certainly isn’t Joe Bonomassa with 50’s Gibsons. What I want to comment on is the Suhr is made from lumber from old growth forests that was sunk to the bottom of Lake Superior. Lake Superior has no bacteria in the bottom of it so this wood was preserved for 200 years. I knew this wood was going to be put to use. I can’t tell you what kind of wood it was but wood readily available in the American Midwest pine, alder, maple oak etc.
Thank you so much for this info Re the wood. I did kind of get the gist, he said something about the wood being in the lake under water, but I wasn't 100% sure what he meant - thank you for providing more info 😎🙏 and yeah, also agree, I appreciated the variety he had too. Not a huge collection, but all had cool stories and/or unique appointments 👌
So sad there is not leftly one on this model.i would buy it right away😢. Congrats for your videos!! Love them! And your accent makes them even more interesting for me. It's So cool
Thank you so much for your kind words mate - much appreciated 😀🙏 Bummer about the lack of lefty on that - soz. I always feel for the lefties lack of options. I've heard that both Schecter & Harley Benton are quite popular with lefties, as the provide more options than most other brands 👍
@stevecassidyguitar thanks to you amigo. Yes harley benton has much more options indeed, but this tele... It's just amazing and there is nothing similar on bentons. It's what it is. I just hope one day jet decides to produce this model for leftys. By the way, many riffs that you play are really cool to play. Cheers!
@ 🤞✈↩
Another great video Steve!!!
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏
That Suhr is so cool
Cheers mate! 😀🙏 Totally agree - probably the most valuable guitar I've ever got to play - was et up great too 😎👌
Such an amazing collection. You lucky bugger for getting to see and it and trying the Suhr. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers mate! 😀🙏 That Suhr / 5150 Rig is probably the most expensive (or maybe valuable is a better word 🤔) Rig I've ever played. Guitar was set up great too 😎👌
Awesome what a fantastic video as always Steve have a great weekend also happy first day of February from Canada ❤😊
Thank you so much mate! Apologies for the late reply, I'll just have to wish you a happy 2nd day of Feb from Scotland 😁👍
Can't wait to see part 2. This is definitely one of your best videos. About that Steinway... ahhhh... that's a historic model. It goes by a couple of names. A Steinway "square grand" or "box grand" piano. Those were specifically designed for small NYC apartments, for customers who wanted a horizontal piano (so, not an upright, studio, console or spinet) but a "grand" meaning that it is horizontal. A baby grand, although much smaller than a 9ft or 11ft grand, is actually still a large piano for any NYC apartments. The fact that a baby grand simply doesn't fit against the wall means that it will take up a lot more space than people realize . Once they have it delivered people realize how huge a baby grand actually is. Cause you can't put it against a wall. So, Steinway designed these square grands, specifically for that purpose. I guess they were kind of inspired by virginals. A virginal is a keyboard based on a harpsichord, and is also a box that fits against the wall. What makes it possible to fit the strings in a horizontal box is the orientation of the strings, running sideways. So, this also means that the square grand uses a completely different mechanical action than any other piano. I've seen a few square grands in NYC (which is where I live) as they are still practical for those who wish to have a piano in a NYC apartment. Of course, one would expect to see more of them in NYC as that's where they were made. I can't remember if I mentioned this yet: great video.
Cheers mate! 😀🙏 And thank ya so much for all this extra info on the Steinway's - very cool 😎👌 I knew very little to nothing about them before. Had only ever heard the name and that they were good & expensive. Thanks again - I'm catching up on emails today so will give you a shout back soon 😁👍
Hi Steve, I keep most of my guitars in decent gig bags and then store them in guitar racks……….Double protection 😁👍🏻
Belts N' Braces mate 😎👌 Good on ya 😀👍
Cool shop for sure 🤘 It must have been fun to play through the peavey 5150. I'm a huge fan of Eddie Van Halen.
Cheers mate! It was a great experience. That Suhr and Original 51510 is probably the most expensive rig I've ever played 😀👍
Really cool place! I’ve been looking forward to this vid since you dropped a nugget of info in Trey’s stream. There are really unique pieces, some with historical significance. I enjoy seeing them. About the 4:52 guitar, I’ve seen the man who makes the guitars. He has a TH-cam channel. Have you tried a Google image search from a screenshot? It may help you find guitars with that neck - I’ve seen the same or a similar design on some of his other guitars. Then maybe you’ll find his name and more info. There are lots of really cool guitars from Russia and other countries. I’m always curious about guitars in Cuba. I always wonder if they are as cool as the cars they’ve kept alive for decades. The piano is really cool, as is the amp. I love that this man does not want to sell his guitars unless it’s to a musician who will really use them. He’s like a guitar custodian, trying to save them from the cork sniffers who won’t take care of them to ensure they remain playable and end up in the right musician’s hands, rather than letting them lie fallow as pretty showpieces. What a treat that you found this place on Guitar Street!
Thank ya Marsha! 😀🙏 Someone else has commented it might be a Khmelevsky guitar 🤷♂️ Had a look but still can't find one with matching inlays to this one. Someone else mentioned Strandberg, but I'm pretty sure it's not, it does look like one, but I think it's something else. I did do a reverse image search on it from a screenshot of the vid, but it just brought up a load of Strandberg and Keisels. If you come across the guys name/channel you think it might be, please let me know 😀🙏 Love the way you paint him as a guitar custodian saving these from the cork sniffers 😂👌 Couldn't have put it better and totally agree! 😎👌
SO Very Cool, Thankyou Steve and Thankyou all involved. This is Special. All the Best. Cheers
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏
WOW!!!!!!!! that is such a cool place, if there is a "Guitar Heaven" then that's it. The coolest guitar I ever played be it only for one tune was the Gibson nylon strung guitar that Chet Atkins played on his very last live performance. I was playing a gig in Southend Essex when a guy showed me the guitar during the break. He told me he was a member of the Chet Atkins appreciation society and went to the convention in Nashville. On the last night Chet Atkins played in the hotel where they all stayed. Every programme had a number printed on it and a number was drawn from a hat at the end of the show. That guys number came up so he went to the stage and Chet Atkins signed his guitar and handed it to him. It turned out to be Chet Atkins last ever performance because he passed away not long afterwards. I asked if I could play that guitar just for one song with my band. I played it sitting down on the front of the stage with the guitar on my lap, I was afraid I might drop it. The guy who won the guitar couldn't play so it was a wonderful thought that the last person to play that guitar before me was the man himself.
Wow to you mate! That's an incredible story!! 🤯 Amazing! You should send that one in to John Robson for his Readers Rock & Roll stories section on the Beer O Clock Livestream 😎👌 I'm not surprised you took such good care to play it - I probably would too. Hope you've got it somewhere safe 👍
Hi Steve, when you say, "Hope you've got it somewhere safe" I certainly don't have that guitar. The guy brought it to the gig because he wanted someone to tune it for him. He watched me like a hawk all the time it was in my hands and put it right back in the case as soon as I handed it back. He said he'd never part with it and wanted to learn to play. That beats a Harley Benton for someones first guitar.
@@Reeldin58 oooft! Soz Imissed that - Still cool you got to play it - AND tune it 😜👍
Somebody wanna break the news to him that there are no 'Russian Masters?...
Krasnoschekov is legit
Wow , those are proper ! What a top dude 👍
Agreed mate! Very cool collection indeed! 😎 Cheers mate 😀🙏

@9:34 I see you now Yoshi! Excellent camera work!
Ha! Cheers mate 😂🙏 She did an excellent job 😎👌
Another great China video, what a collection of guitars !! 👍🎸😀
Thank you so much mate! 😀🙏 Agreed - I'm so glad I found the place and he was kind enough to take us through his collection. Absolute gent 😎👌
Nice vid lad, the owner seemed really cool, i loved that 98 lp with the korina top wow, suhr sounded great especially through the 5150, what did you think of the suhr, was it set up ok?
Cheers mate! 😀🙏 I was gonna buy that LP for you. Logistically I'd struggle to fit it in my case, but I don't think I'd have been a worthy buyer anyway - soz 🤷♂️
Damn. What a beautiful shop. You're a lucky man to have had such a cool experience!
Cheers mate! 😀 Totally! 🙏 I'll be going back to China again around October this year, I definitely want to return to this place and see what delights he has next time 😀👍
Nice content, very interesting - who knew there were so many Russian Masters! (I'll have the Music Man EVH please!) Great camera work by the way!! 👌
I certainly didn't know! 🤷♂️😀 I think I forgot to thank Yoshi on the Camera - My bad 😬🙈 (Thanks Yoshi!!!) The EVH is a very cool one, first year of production, I've no idea the value of any of these guitars - I was too scared to ask 😂 Thank ya kindly mate 🙏
What a great video, I love when people are so passionate and knowledgeable about guitars. It’s almost like a history lesson that you can play! Great video as always Steve, keep up the incredible work!!
Wow mate! I love that! "A history lesson you can play" 😀👌 Thank ya kindly 😀🙏
Neat find! Lends me to thinking about putting my personal collection in a "shop"... "Here's an antique Squier Standard Series Strat from 2003!" 😹
😂👌 I hear ya mate 😂👍 "and here we have a 2018 (pre covid) Harley Benton, all original, except for the Epiphone humbucker in the neck.... "
He will only sell to a real musician? I guess that lets me out. ☹
Yup me too - Luckily I didn't have that kind of coin anyway 😜👍
Sorry that I didn't catch you live this week, Steve... I was too busy 'hand carving a guitar out of a kitchen worktop'! Not really, but that was such a great comment that it couldn't go unnoticed or noted.
Ha! Cheers mate 😜🙏 There's never any need to apologise for missing a live stream 😀👍 I hope you're B&Q Guitar build is coming along well mate 😂👍
11:12 Converted to a 6-string - that’s going to affect the value 😉
😂👍 Totally! What strings do you even get for something like that? Would feel weird buying Ernie Balls off of Amazon for a 150 year old guitar 😂
Excellent video mate! Nice of the bloke (Sheng) to take you through ea one, fellas passionate about guitars... knows more than me (thats not saying much!). That LP Custom wd weigh plenty, a sit down guitar for 5min gigs!! Thanks mate, enjoyed that!
Thank ya kindly mate - much appreciated 😀🙏 Yessir - He certainly knows his stuff, very knowledgeable indeed. He showed me pics of a load of other cool guitars and builders on his fone too. More super rare stuff I'd never heard of any of them 😂👍 Yeah I was surprised he managed to get the LP on the top shelf! 💪😂
Thank you for the video, Steve. That was an awesome store! BTW, Sorry I missed your livestream yesterday. Between Covid and work, I have not had a chance to watch it.
Thanks for watching mate 😀🙏 You never need to apologise for missing the livestreams mate 😎👍 If I caught you right and you've got covid - sorry to hear that mate - hope you feel better soon 🤞

Thank ya Jojo! 😀🙏 Yeah - I reckon that was probably the most valuable rig I've ever played 😀
