Nothing wrong with sponsored content as long as it's a balanced review with pros and cons. The difficulty must come when asked to review something that there isn't much positive to say about it. As for the guitar, it would make a great guitar for travelling. Great video.👍
Cheers mate! Good points, I think another potential problem could be, when you get a product that doesn't really have any (or many) bad points, and you end up looking hard for something negative to say, just to avoid the shill accusations 🤔 Interesting times ahead, all I know is, you can't do sponsored content and please everyone 😂👍
This is very true. See so many times someone pedaling a affordable brand because they are paid quite a bit, and your telling me a sub $200 guitar couldn't use bteer pickups, or the tuners are not the best
@stevecassidyguitar very true, also when ever you put up a video that doesn't resonate with a person, sometimes they can't see past that you have a wide audience.
But, given that it's a gift... and Steve may well be thinking "I could get more of these if I play my cards right..." how can we trust his review, even if it's "balanced?"
@@peterclarke7240 Can't argue with that 👍 I mean I don't really want anymore carbon fiber guitars - one is plenty 😜 but I get the point you're making and I don't disagree at all 👍
Next level… smashed it 😜🥳👍👍👍 simply the (or better your) way of speaking honest and open about your feelings on the matter makes that big difference and is on of the many reasons we love watching your reviews a wee bit more than the ones of your other cool TH-cam colleagues 😉👍
Cheers mate! 😀🙏 Seems it's got a load of potential applications... practice like you say, or travel, possibly busking, I'm keen to gig it soon and also wanna know if the onboard speaker could keep up with an unplugged acoustic duo 😀
Congratulations on your sponsorship, it's well deserved! I'm sure you will get lots more offers. Also, I still trust you. It's obvious when people are being shills and when they are being genuine about their experience with a product.
Thank you mate! & Cheers for the feedback 😃🙏 I know what you mean... I feel like I can tell what's genuine and not when watching other channels too. Just rely on the old Spidey sense 😜👍 Thanks again mate 🙏
Thank you so much for your feedback mate - Hugely appreciated 😀🙏 I reckon this kind of thing will continue to play on my mind going forward, but I think eventually, (for me) it might just boil down to; "It is what it is" 🤷♂️
Offers of 'free' gear to review is a pretty standard right of passage nowadays. You've been noticed, and for good reason. I'm sure your subscribers and viewers can rely on your honesty and wish you nothing but the best. That's a belter of a guitar too 🤣🤣 I can see why you picked it. As always, love the channel brother.
Holy Jings! Just noticed you've picked up another 3.5k subs already!! 🤯 Get in there mate!! 💪😎 Ok I need to change my prediction now - You'll smash 60k subs by the end of the year! 😀 Cheers for watching and your support Broseph 🙏 (Appreciated the Insta shout out too - Thank ya!) Yes - "probably" more (but not loads) of sponsored stuff coming this year 😜
You are performing a service. Sponsored content is a natural extension of where you are aiming your channel towards. Know what? Nothing wrong with it. Of course, the first positive is because you chose the finish you wanted and they obliged. Nice demo!
Cheers mate - transparency and honesty is the only way - that's the plan 😃🙏 Although I'm not in a massive hurry to do loads more sponsored stuff just yet. 😅
If ever there was a guitar finish that suits your band, it’s that one. Enjoyed the unboxing. You probably just need a wee fold up table in from of you and a camera (or phone) facing down.
Cheers mate - I do love the finish - I have to gig test it of course 😁👍 Great shout Re the table - A simple solution, but I still never thought of it 😂🙈
Nothing wrong with sponsored content as long as it is informative, I am a sucker for an unboxing. We all love the feeling of a new guitar day so this is only a reflection of that. Always a little bit skeptical of these new designs, most end up as flops, but at least it's fresh. Better than the same old same old from the big names, where the best they can offer is a minimal change to justify a price hike. Keep up the good work and get that patron option running :)
Thank you so much for the feedback mate! 😀🙏 I remember many years a go when my mate told me about how his kid was watching loads of kinder egg unboxing videos... "Unboxing videos? What's that?" said I "Oh yeah... It's a massive trend these days very popular!" Said He "Really!?!? people watch that garbage?! 😂" Fast forward 12 or so years - not only do I love watching unboxing vids, now I'm making them too 😂🙈
Great review. Honestly, I think that guitar could serve a purpose. I had a gig last year where I could only use a small battery powered amp (it’s a long story) but this guitar would’ve come in handy for it. The only thing I would add are stainless steel frets. That’s a must for me personally these days. It’s a bit of a gimmick guitar but could serve a purpose for buskers or for a small room jam session/practice.
Thank you mate! 😀🙏 I was quite surprised it didn't have stainless steel frets too, given that they've almost become the norm with some of the high specced younger brands, and the fact that the carbon fibre staructure is built to last 🤷♂️
That neck heel contour is slick! Amazing what they can do since it's carbon fiber. That would be a handy guitar for a street musician! Thanks for sharing, Steve! Cheers!
Thank you mate! 😀🙏 You're right, with it being Carbon Fiber they could have went way overboard with the design if they wanted to, but sticking with a classic shape is probably a smart move, so it doesn't look too sci fi and alienate too many people. I mean a lot of us still just love the classic and simple Tele's etc 😜
Definitely! It's an appealing choice for an all in one rig for someone starting out, and the tuning "should" be very stable too (I've not had it long enough to test that yet) which would be a huge bonus for beginners. Has a few other cool potential applications I'm yet to try, like, travelling, busking, gigging, livestreaming etc...
Hi Steve, nothing wrong with sponsored content it seems to me it's a win, win situation. A company gets their gear out there for us to see and you get fresh ideas for new content. On top of that it's so good to see you play a single cut at last. It's a nice guitar that played well enough right out of the box. A few years back I used to go along to an acoustic blues jam at the local pub on a Monday night and one of these would have been a really cool thing to have.
Thanks for sharing your feedback mate - much appreciated! 😀🙏 That's actually one of the things I really want to test in the full video; can the onboard speaker keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit? 🤔 Also want to gig it and take it outside - once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶
Thank ya mate! It might take a while as this guitar has so many applications, I definitely need to gig it! But I also want to take it outside (when it gets warmer 😜). and keen to see if it can hold it's own (volume wise) with an unplugged acoustic outfit
Cheers mate! Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated 😀🙏 I do hope to one day be paid in a currency I can exchange for food and services 😜👍 But for now - I'm not complaining 😀👍
No issues with sponsored content, I really like you talking about the human element to it too. You need to ensure can make about as much as you can making videos whilst keeping your integrity. So as long as you aren’t sacrificing the vast majority of your opinion it’s all good. But so many people, I feel, don’t hold the companies sending gear out for sponsored content to account. They should believe in their product enough that they’re willing to accept criticism as long as it’s constructive. Also appreciating everyone is different so some things about the product will work better or worse for different people. If they send gear out willy nilly with a sub par product and get bad reviews it’s really on the company. Also wanted to say I really appreciated the thumbnail not showing the guitar and not doing that stupid thing TH-camrs do where they insert a clip of later in the video at the start. It was a genuine surprise to see the guitar. As for would I buy one? I wouldn’t expect to but the concept and execution is enough to keep my eye on them to see what’s coming next and how they improve. Keep up the good work mate
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and feedback mate! This is hugely appreciated and exactly the kind of insights I need to hear (or read) 😀🙏 I will be doing a more in depth vid in the future and you can bet the Guitar will be plastered all over the thumbnail in that one! 😂🙈 But yeah, I do like to try and maintain the mystery of the unboxings until the final "reveal" even though it's easy for it to be spoiled with the YT autoplay feature when scrolling over a thumbnail (on desk top) 🙈 I'm also guilty of doing the "coming up later" at the start in other videos. Now that I think about it - those vids tanked 🤔 Cheers again mate! 🙏
@stevecassidyguitar once you’ve done the unboxing video then pictures galore in the thumbnail for the follow up dude :) it’s definitely an eye catching colour. The whole “coming up next” is just a bugbear of mine, really the only people who I could tolerate it from was old Top Gear. But ultimately the way I look at it is “you’ve got me to open the video, just let me watch it now” but I don’t doubt plenty of folk like that editing style. Look forward to the follow up and seeing if you mod it much. I’m not sure what it sounds like in person but from the video I think keep the rest of the guitar stock and just try and upgrade it to a Bose speaker or something :)
As long as you stay honest and don't just say nice things because they have paid you😏Your mate Henning is a great example of this his reviews are still great and honest. As long as you are the same you you'll be grand 👍F**k what anybody else says 🤬🤘(Excuse my french 🤣)
Thank you mate! 🙏 Straight to the point 😂👌 It's weird, I totally agree with you Re Henning, but some people see it the complete opposite. It just shows, it's impossible to please everyone and earn a crust here on YT 😂🤷♂️
Apparently so mate 😀👍 I'm yet to test the tuning stability, I've gotta change the strings and set it up a bit first, but the temperatures have dropped a fair bit here in Scotland atm 🥶 So it's probably a good time to start testing 😀👍
Very interesting-looking guitar. No problems with sponsored vids as long as viewers are aware and it's an honest review. Look forward to an in-depth review on this one!
Thank you so much for your feedback mate! 🙏 I'm looking forward to trying this one out at a gig - and maybe taking it outside for a walk once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶👍
When you do sponsored product presentations you become what I call a stringfluencer. I imagine that if I was in your position I never would be able to entirely shake off the subconscious need to please the sponsor...after all, you never bite the hand that feeds you. As a consumer I want all the pros and cons of a guitar, and with sponsored content I always have the feeling of watching a commercial instead of a really honest review.
As long as you're honest and fair with your critique then I have no problem at all with any sponsored video. TH-cam as a creator costs money so it's only fair that someone can be compensated for their work.
Thanks for sharing mate 🙏 That's generally how I feel about it too, I watch looaads of sponsored content here on YT all the time, and it's always clear to me what's going on. Depending on the channel, I'll either trust what they say, and if I've been watching the channel long enough can take into account their likes/dislikes and preferences, or I might just take it all with a pinch of salt. Thanks again mate 😀🙏
Congrats on your first sponsored video, doesn’t sound bad, I could hear a little bit of scratching on the frets. You seemed to enjoy it. Integrity is very important with what we do and being able to do sponsored content while maintaining honesty and transparency about the product will make or break a channel.
In the later video when you use the phone app, can you test if the accessibility option VoiceOver works on the app-just so us blind people know if it’s accessibility friendly before we buy it. You will have to go into your phone settings and work out how to use it though, but it would be amazing if you did. Cheers-nice video as always!
Cheers mate! I've just took a screenshot of your comment so I remember - I'll need to look into this further. 👍👍 I could also ask the company - even if they don't know... The fact that someone is asking might make them consider implementing that in future 🤷♂️

Sponsored content is fine. There’s a difference between giving your opinion and presenting an advert that lacks balance. As for the guitar, I’ve just looked it up and it is quite interesting. The on board effects can be accesses when you’re using an amp, the Bluetooth looks useful, you ca record via the USB-C, etc. and the pickups are alnico 2 in the neck and alnico 5 in the bridge. If you mentioned all of that, apologies, but I’ve watched this in about five goes as I keep falling asleep in my flu-ey state. Don’t worry about reviewing stuff. You’ve done that before when you’ve bought or borrowed guitars. You just have to set your own limits, which most reasonable people see as the point where companies tell you what to say, whether you like it or not. And I don’t think you’d do that, so you’re grand. Andy on The Guitar Geek channel outlined his position when he was threatened about what he had to do and say and told the company to poke it. th-cam.com/video/5YvFiRpSnDw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lC_GyWTa0vDEyoS5
Great points well made sir - thank you for your feedback - hugely appreciated 😀🙏 Yes - there was loooads I missed out on this video. With the unboxings, I try to focus more on just the hands on unfiltered first impressions and the unboxing itself of course 😜. In this one, it wasn't that I was holding back info to keep for the more in depth video (although I do, do that with other guitars), but this one just does sooo much and has so many possible applications that the vid probably would have ended up being about 45mins long 😂 Great point Re the Andy vid - That's the vid that took him from like 70k to over 100k subs in like 2 weeks! I'm hoping a company threatens to sue me too, so I can copy Andy's vid 😂👍

@ All power to your elbow, Steve. Keep up the good work. And you’re “weclome”.
It's not a sponsor, though, it's a gift. They've given him the product and asked him to review it. Now I can't trust Steve to not be thinking, somewhere in his consciousness, "If I give this a 4 star, when really it deserves a 3 star, I'll get more stuff to own (or sell) and more content to create." So even if Steve doesn't intentionally lie to us, he's IMMEDIATELY being psychologically manipulated into viewing the product in a different light to one he's been loaned or had to buy himself.
Good video, mate. Sponsored or not - without you I would have never heard of this thing. Waiting for full review with app and magnetic strap ... things.
Oh no!! The lads sold out to 'Big Carbon'!! All good Steve, that's pretty interesting, one piece... carbon fibre shd be pretty stable tuning wise(?) it's not affected by heat/cold etc... Pretty safe bet to think you'll give an honest opinion on any gear that comes ur way, all good! There's a lot going on there, the full vid shd be interesting.
@@baabaabaa-El it was only a matter of time before I succumbed to big carbon 😂👍 It had been sitting here for months and wasn't in tune out of the box. But now that I've unboxed it, (I still need to to string it) and get it set up to my liking... Now is a good time of year to keep tabs on it's stability because it just got really cold here Scotland this week 🥶👍 Cheers mate 😃🙏
@stevecassidyguitar You poor buggas up there mate.. it's getting up to 34°C today, has been the last week. I don't know how you mob do 'cold'.. if it gets down to 15° we all start whinging here!! See ya soon!
What a cool guitar, sounded great through the built in speaker, amazing technology. I thought you were fair and balanced review wise, I look forward to a full video review. I think I might have put the name of the company in the title of the video though !! 👍🎸😄
Thank you so much for the feedback mate - hugely appreciated 😀🙏 Good shout Re the name in the Title - I'll definitely do that for the full review, but I try to keep the unboxing ones a surprise 😀👍 Looking forward to trying this one out at a gig too! 😀
New subscriber here, but i don't think there is anything wrong with sponsored content provided you disclose that it is sponsored. What you do is work and you deserve to be compensated. It only gets shady if you don't mention the company's involvement, or promote products you have a financial interest in (*cough*Andertons*cough*). Anyway, love the videos - keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for sharing (and subscribing) mate! 😀🙏 I pretty much feel the same way - I mean most of the stuff I watch from my favourite channels in the Guitar YT-sphere is all sponsored too, and I don't have a problem with it either. Just see it for what it is 👍
Great video. I thought you were very fair. Fwiw for a beginner, I'd have thought a £200 guitar with a £100 amp, and £100 multifx would be money better spent. I just don't understand who this is aimed at.
Thank ya kindly for the feedback mate 😃🙏 Yeah your suggestion for a beginner rig is probably a better one 😎👍 I think for a kid beginner it could be a more appealing option for their parents 😜 Just one all in one item to research/buy before birthday/Xmas 🤷♂️ But aside from that, it appears to have many applications, if you ignore the smart part and the speaker, it's a really well made carbon fiber guitar for £400! and it works just as a normal guitar through an amp too - it has an Alnico ii in the neck and Alnico V in the bridge. I'm keen to test it out at a gig before the more in depth vid. Then it's also an all in one travel guitar rig. I'm want to take it outside (once It gets a bit warmer here 🥶). I also want to know if the onboard speaker would be enough to keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit. I also think this could be an interesting solution for buskers - just for the carbon fiber construction and benefits against the elements. I'll be trying it out in my livestreams too. So it's got loads going on. I don't think it's gonna be anyone's number 1 guitar, but it's a bit of a swiss army tool, that could be cool to have should you find yourself in any of the above scenarios. Soz... I think I just did the full review in this comment 😂🙈
@stevecassidyguitar and that's why your channel continues to grow so well 😁. You've definitely opened my eyes to other possibilities for it, though my GAS has been sated with my new Levinson Ventana (£350ish s-type, 9.5" radius, roasted maple, stainless steel frets, lovely alnico pickups)
That's an oddball guitar. Interesting for sure. I like more traditional guitars, never been a fan of carbon fiber or gimmicky guitars. I've never even tried a headless guitar. Seems like an honest review to me. Cool camera setup too.
Cheers mate! 😀🙏 Yeah this one was a lot of firsts for me too - I don't even like single cuts in general, but a Purpley/Pink finish can make me look past almost anything else 😂 My 2025 goal - don't buy a "real" camera! I know a proper camera would be better, but I could very easily end up turning into a "camera guy" and crippling my finances with fancy lenses and accessories etc 😂🙈
Bit surprised l like the guitar it sounds really good, looking forward to seeing the full review, reason l watch your channel is the honesty of you're reviews, just wonder if it was a sponsored Starcaster review how would you react???
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏 That's a great point Re Starcasters... I mean I would never do anything sponsored with Fender but still as an example... It would be hard for me to not love a Starcaster, So if I did a sponsored Starcaster vid and it was all positive, for someone not familiar with the channel, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd think - Paid Shill 🙄 The feedback I'm getting here seems to be a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kinda vibe, you can't please everyone and make an income off of YT. Might have to just boil it down to; It is what it is 🤷♂️ Eventually 🤔 Soz - going on a bit here - just thinking (typing) out loud here 🙈
Cheers mate! I recently picked up the DJI action 4 (it was heavily discounted), so with it being 2 DJI's I'm using now, the colour grading finally matches on the 2 shots 😀👍 I mainly got the action 4 to get the super wide shot, So I can get better gig footage, by just clipping it to my mic stand to the side of me - I'm yet to test it tho
Loved this video Steve, I’d love to try the Enya nexg 2 its has a loop pedal that comes with it and a microphone basically everything you need to gig on the spot!! Anyway keep up the great work mate!!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback mate! 😀🙏 Funnily enough I encountered those Nex G Guitars when I did the Guitar store walkthrough in China, and didn't really give them much thought. Very cool though - they've got a lot going on 😀👍
@stevecassidyguitar oh I’m finally getting a new guitar after 3 months of being guitarless I’m getting a Yamaha CSF3M small parlor type guitar all solid wood I can’t wait!! I’ve been lost without a guitar it’s like a religion! Anyway mate as always keep up the great work mate
I remember Cordy getting sent an avri 2 strat by fender, criticizing some of the qc issues and then never getting sent anything from them again, so he’s spot on about the influence that companies has. You can Say anything you want about the guitar, but if it’s negative, you’re going on the naughty list
That's it mate 👍 It would be easier if Fender could make better guitars again though 😜 But yeah, either tread carefully with what you say, or chose carefully who you work with etc... It's a minefield and I've got loads to learn here 👍
Wow These colors and distribution fit your Outfit. I am curios about your idea what to do with it. Carbon is not really indestructable, but compared to Steel and Titanium it offers higher stiffness and Tensile strengh. It is Not a toy as you could put Filtertrons in there.
Cheers mate! 😂🙏 I'm keen to gig it for a start, but I'd also like to take it outside once it gets a bit warmer 🥶, I wanna try it out on the livestreams and also wan't to see if the onboard speaker is loud enough to keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit. Good shout on the trons too 😁👍
I've not looked to deeply into the app yet, but You can bypass the "brains" (smart part) of the guitar if that's what you mean? The first knob is the speaker/effects vol, so I think you could just turn that off and use it as a regular guitar. But If you mean combining the fx/amp models with an HX stomp - I'm not sure about that (yet). But I reckon the Quality of the FX and Amps would be higher quality on the Line 6. Soz - loads of speculation here, I've not really tested any of this properly yet 😂🙈
Further to my last comment, I think the concensus will be that this would make a great travel/practice guitar. I can't see anyone gigging with it or using as their main guitar.
Jack of all trades, Master of None, springs to mind. A bit of a swiss army tool. It has so many applications, I'm keen to try out before the more in depth gig. I do want to gig it. It would never be my main gigging guitar, but that's more of a single cut/humbucker thing than a carbon fiber/smart Guitar thing. But if they could make an HSS strat.... 🤔😁 I also want to see if the onboard speaker could keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit, and I'd like to take it outside (once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶) and yeah like you said, also ideal for travel and/or practice. Could be a good shout for a busker too, whether using the speaker (if it's loud enough for the street - I'd guess not) or plugged into an amp, the carbon fiber construction could be ideal for playing out in the elements. I'm also looking into using it for livestreams. Yet.. It would never be my number one 👍 Soz mate - got a bit carried away there - I think I just wrote the full review 😂 Thanks for letting me think (type) out loud here 😂🙈
I have no issue with sponsored content as long as the review is your opinion and as honest as possible and even feel that it is important to me as a consumer that guys like you do these reviews. Reasons, We as regular viewers get to know what you like and dislike etc and the reason we hang around is either we share similar tastes or we hate you and want to see how bad things can get😉. So your opinion can help us make an, at least partially informed choice, after all not many real shops exist nowadays and those that do will not stock a everything so we cant pop along and try everything out. We can come to fairly decent decisions based on the collective views of the channels we subscribe to. Another thing is, we all know Andertons etc are a shop whose job is to sell their products so we probably take less notice of their opinions as a review but more for entertainment and availability. Yours and the others we subscribe to opinions actually contribute to what we may actually may base a decision on. But, most will see straight through a 'Paid presentation.' So keep it real 😉. Thanks for them opinions. All that is left to say is PEPSI, the taste of a new generation!!!
Ha! Nailed the sign off there! 😂👌 Thank you so much for your feedback and thoughts mate - hugely appreciated 🙏 Stay honest though - It's pretty much that simple innit? 🤷♂️ I'm sure I can manage that 😀👍 I've not been "completely" corrupted yet 😜
Thank you mate! 😀🙏 You're right about it being a good travel guitar. I'm quite keen to try it out in a few different applications for the full vid, I want to gig it, and I also want to take it outside (once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶) and I want to see if the onboard speaker can keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit 🤔
I don’t see sponsored content as a problem, to be honest, a lot of my favourite channels have always done it and I think people are used to it by now. I think if you’re transparent about it, people can make their own minds up.
This all makes so much sense! 😃👍 But are we talking about the same internet here? 🤔 😜 Thanks for your feedback JoJo! Much appreciated as always😃🙏 Totally agree tho, pretty much all my favourite channels do sponsored vids too 😁👍
The guitar sounds a little microphonic to me, but it will be interesting to hear if there is any difference once you set the guitar up using the app. As far as paid content goes, its part of capitalis and whether sponsored or unsponsored content goes, liking or not liking a product is subjective anyway, so nothing wrong with paid content. Cheers!
Thank you so much for your feedback mate! Speaking of feedback.... 😁 After I filmed this I watched "the Guitologists" review of the same guitar, he got it to do an infinite feedback, something to do with the proximity of the speaker to the bridge humbucker. I think it might a design flaw, but a potentially cool and welcomed one - Comes with a Free Sustainiac 😂👍
Ha! I'm actually very new to glasses! 🤓👍 I used to wear fake ones on the channel and had to explain that here: th-cam.com/video/LKLu7dve2gc/w-d-xo.html These ones are a "fake" pair I got from either Ali Express or TEMU (I think both sell them) and I just popped out the plastic lenses and got my new prescription lenses put in when I was in China recently. Prescription lenses are waaaay cheaper there 🤓👍
nothing wrong with sponsored content, it's part of the youtube ecosphere as it were i think to some extent with the move from magazines to youtube , there's more of those discussion as to how valid the videos/opinions might be (like you brought up from John Cordy) , i think as long as the transparency is there and your opinions aren't compromised it's all good i don't really feel this was ever the case with magazines, where the neutrality of the reviews or i guess sponsored content sometimes really got to me , everything basically being a 4-5 stars out of 5, no real idea about how things actually were until you looked up tones on youtube basically, but i guess that's a whole other topic
Excellent points well made sir - Cheers! 👍 I used to have a Guitarist magazine subscription back in the day - that was my favourite mag as it was mostly gear. I didn't realise it the time it was mostly ads 😂🙈
@stevecassidyguitar me too, had it for ages, the editorials especially when Mick was still editor was great, interesting main topics/histories of stuff etc.. but all the reviews seemed to always be 4-5 stars, and no idea how things actually were, i think at some point that's what made me cancel the subscription, was no longer for me, i still pick up a copy from time to time depending on the main story/
Ah Nice! Funny you should mention... I have an SX "modern" strat on my ebay watch alerts with a Blue to green fade. Really well finished guitars. Your Bass colour sounds even better though 😎👍
@stevecassidyguitar Yeah, it would be interesting to see how it sounded through your rig or an amp as the sound from the speaker isn't very impressive. But it might sound totally usable amplified
@@petercollins4030 Ok so I wasn't gonna let on (hoping no-one would notice)... but... That 2nd mic I set up didn't work the best. I stupidly had the noise cancellation turned on, so I ended up using about 65% of the Guitar audio from the Lav Mic 🙈 I'll have it all dialled in for the full review though. Including Gig clips 😀👍
Of course! That's what I'll be doing for the full review, there's a few applications I'd like to test it out in. Gigs of course, I'd like to take it outside (once it gets warmer 🥶) and I want to know if the onboard speaker could keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit. Can also use it for "chord of the week" on the livestreams 😜👍
@@BurntRelic I'm sure you can - You can custom order them I believe 😀👍 They actually reached out a while back to do a vid, but I had waaay too much on atthe time. I should get back in touch if I've not been blacklisted 😜
Kinda! 😃 It's 1 Fender modern player Starcaster a Squier affinity Starcaster and a Squier Contemporary Active (highly modded) Starcaster. I've got it bad 😬🙈
@ I’ve been watching for a deal I can’t refuse for one of the modern players on Reverb. They seem the be appreciating in price a little bit. I just discovered those guitars this year. They piqued my interest for sure! Very cool.
@Shroomer47 Incredible guitars mate! I bought my Fender for £611 brand new in 2013, they go for around £900 used these days. 2 Squier lines just got discontinued recently too - also great! th-cam.com/video/w9ntXxcuKbc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=V5hiMT4n0ukKoHLM
As long as you say its paid review, then its fine. Conversely, it is very very bad behavior to take money or trade for a review and not indicate as much. I defer to your personal choice on paid reviews that hit you with a verbatim-read script or reviews of things that you think just suck. Youve worked hard to make good content and youve won over 5k subscribers, and that starts you on the ladder as a legit commodity for paid work. Enya, btw, is a good company that is pumping out guitars loaded with tech and built to last. No brand value, but very impactful guitars.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts mate - much appreciated 🙏 Your right about the brand, I didn't really know what to think of them, initial thoughts were "gimmicky" but there's a lot of interesting stuff they're doing in one guitar here. Even without the electronic techy things, the actual design of the guitar itself, with the carbon fibre construction, the neck access, zero fret, nut built in to the neck, and the truss rod access, that's all pretty impressive in of otself AND... It's Purpley/Pink! 😂👍
From my minimal experience with this, if I'm sponsored it WILL affect what I say and I will keep it positive, that said.. If the product isn't good I simply won't cover it and I will never lie to my viewers. Plenty of stuff has not been covered by me because of that. The vast majority of stuff I feature is stuff I enjoy using. Just be honest Steve which I'm sure you are and carry on!
Thank you so much for your insights mate! 😀🙏 I can see how being sponsored, could probably affect "how" things are said 👍 Just dipping my toe in here - but I've got loads to learn. Tis a minefield 😂🙈
Cheers 😎👍 I did consider that, but I didn't think my address or personal info on the label was visible at enough at any point. Unless you mean the "Enya" and "Nova Go Sonic" branding parts, as it's a bit of a spoiler for the unboxing? 😬
Pink guitars do exist. I bought my first one just last month! As for sponsored content: My thought is that your TH-cam channel should be regarded as a small business -- it's for profit. While that fact may subconsciously influence you to soften your language when possible, I believe that you can stick to the facts, particularly if you measure things, and then react to those facts. Anything that is subjective, just own it as your opinion, which requires NO evidence. Stay as transparent as you can and let your audience deal with the reality. What else can you do?
There are a lot of Pink Guitar deniers out there 😂👍 Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback mate - much appreciated 🙏 You're spot on too! 👍 I've actually took a screen shot of your comment for future reference, as you have crafted it all so succinctly 👌 Thanks again mate 😀🙏
The one they have in matte black looks quite menacing 👹 I reckon if they had a version without the speaker and smarts stuff, it could be more appealing to more players just for being a legit carbon fiber guitar 🤷♂️ Thank ya for your feedback too mate - much appreciated 😀🙏
Sponsored content for me is fine if they do not require you to be censored in your opinion. Some get paid handsomely for their reviews, so I guess it could influence their opinion. However, if you say something is great and it is not it will damage your integrity as a TH-camr. I have kinda alluded to this at Christmas time where someone was shilling inexpensive guitars as the best, when there were some great deals to be had on other brands.
Sponsored or not sponsored is more than just a black or white thing, it's a gradient. You either have complete integrity like Elmo Karjalainen and buy all the gear you review or you will be compromised in one way or other. I think Henning is as close to being uncompromised as it's possible to be, he has a strong sense of integrity I think, from there it's a sliding scale to total shill. Most of us can tell where on the scale people are I think. Ultimately it's how you feel about it yourself that will decide whether you should or not. We will probably watch it anyway!
@stevecassidyguitar In addition I think channels who do the occasional sponsored video as opposed to every video being a "new exciting product" have proven themselves to be more genuine in a way as it's obviously not about getting paid but just enjoying making videos, at least that's how I rate content.
Sorry to hear that mate 😬 There is a bit of a story behind them... th-cam.com/video/LKLu7dve2gc/w-d-xo.html But it probably won't make any difference to you 😂👍
It’s not straightforward, if you’re a TH-camr who started a channel as an enthusiast for other enthusiasts, truly unbiased opinions can only come from unsponsored content. However, If you’re goal is to be a professional TH-camr and make a living from your TH-cam content you will probably have to do sponsored videos, which can never be truly objective and unbiased. Bad reviews would almost certainly get you struck off the sponsor’s roster. Full disclosure to viewers would be the way to mitigate sponsored videos, in other words telling viewers if the sponsor checked the video prior to its release, if they requested changes, stopped or asked you not to release a video.
You're spot on - thanks for sharing your thoughts mate 😃🙏 This experience and feedback from the community has given me a lot to think about going forward - cheers 👍
Yeah, you should be payed for your work. And yeah, it might reflect on your opinions. That is natural and your opinions could be called into question regardless, because even if not yet paid, you might be hoping for a sponsorship and that could also affect it. It is a mess. On the other side, if I would not see you or HP or John Robson or BGS or one of the other reviewers I respect, it would suggest they only want fanpeople and no critical reviews. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Yeah, I think you're right, there's a lot psychological concerns both conscious and subconscious, that can't be ignored. The only thing that's for sure is, It's impossible to make any income from this and please everyone 😂🙈
This is so true I actually just discussed this on my latest livestream with my community. I never cared if I saw that Paid Promotion Watermark at the beginning. But when I know the creator should be checking that box, even if they say they received it from a company and they don't check that box I get skeptical of their integrity.
@@SearchingForTone I could see it being an easy mistake to make too. It's only the 2nd time I've had to check the box. So used to uploading without it. I'll be mindful though 👍
@stevecassidyguitar oh not you my friend, but now I tell you this you won’t unsee it. There’s one creator who never does it at all but he’s not buying these guitars. Won’t out the guy, because he does have a legitimate decent following. They’ll go after me🤣
Mate! You've just made my day! 😀 I'm 42 👴👍 You're correct! I've did looooads of unboxings 😂 but... this was the first "sponsored" unboxing. Which in this case means they let me keep the guitar - So I'm exploring how biased that makes me now 🤔
Just don't be disingenuous like Henning and call sponsored / paid videos "reviews". You got paid with a free guitar, you can never in any right mind be unbiased on this product. Call these demos. Everyone wants youtubers to get paid for their videos, we just don't want biased "reviews".
Well this one isn't a review or a Demo - Just an "unboxing". You're right, but for me, I associate the word "Demo" with someone who is a great player, and I would struggle to call my vids Demo's 😂🙈 But technically - I think you might be on to something - Cheers 👍
I usually refer to them as new gear day, but I haven't been paid for a review just received free products. So I know you didn't come here for my opinion, but I think you can be paid and still do a review. As long as there is no censorship or editing by the product provider. Seldomly is there a product that has no negatives to it. Thats usually how I see if someone is disingenuous with their "review". I am currently editing a video that is "sponsored" and I say in it that a particular pedal control becomes unusable after the 3 o'clock position. Sorry brother for imparting my opinion on you that i'm sure was unwanted🤣Cheers
@@SearchingForTone people can say “the sponsor knows I am free to give my unfiltered opinion” but if you shit on their guitar they won’t send you stuff. So you either get one sponsor and eventually find flaws and say your opinion and your relationship will be over. You may have bias here in order to keep the relationship going
@@mikey-dubs That may be the case with some companies, and also the integrity of the reviewer. I have gotten pedals from a company and have pointed out flaws and still have gotten pedals. Not saying you are wrong at all but if the reviewer does a sponsored video and says something is awesome and it’s actually a pile of junk they will not go far. Someone else will eventually do the review who isn’t sponsored and damage the integrity of the sell out. I’ve seen Henning even mention things that can be improved on with products
Sponsored Content? What do ya think? 🫳⌨⬇
Or How about most different Guitar you've ever tried? 🫳⌨⬇
This might be it for me 🤔
If it's not Scottish it's CRAP!
Nothing wrong with sponsored content as long as it's a balanced review with pros and cons. The difficulty must come when asked to review something that there isn't much positive to say about it. As for the guitar, it would make a great guitar for travelling. Great video.👍
Cheers mate!
Good points, I think another potential problem could be, when you get a product that doesn't really have any (or many) bad points, and you end up looking hard for something negative to say, just to avoid the shill accusations 🤔
Interesting times ahead, all I know is, you can't do sponsored content and please everyone 😂👍
Awww! Thank you so much for your kind words and support as always! 😀🙏
Hugely appreciated 🙏
I think you’re right mate - could be good for home practising etc. Decent enough. And Greta video again as usual 👏
Cheers mate! 😀🙏
Seems it's got a load of potential applications... practice like you say, or travel, possibly busking, I'm keen to gig it soon and also wanna know if the onboard speaker could keep up with an unplugged acoustic duo 😀
Congratulations on your sponsorship, it's well deserved! I'm sure you will get lots more offers. Also, I still trust you. It's obvious when people are being shills and when they are being genuine about their experience with a product.
Thank you mate! & Cheers for the feedback 😃🙏
I know what you mean... I feel like I can tell what's genuine and not when watching other channels too.
Just rely on the old Spidey sense 😜👍
Thanks again mate 🙏
The fact that you are asking all the right questions should reassure you that this has not compromised you in any way. It certainly reassured me!
Thank you so much for your feedback mate - Hugely appreciated 😀🙏
I reckon this kind of thing will continue to play on my mind going forward, but I think eventually, (for me) it might just boil down to; "It is what it is" 🤷♂️
Offers of 'free' gear to review is a pretty standard right of passage nowadays.
Ok I need to change my prediction now - You'll smash 60k subs by the end of the year! 😀
Cheers for watching and your support Broseph 🙏 (Appreciated the Insta shout out too - Thank ya!)
Yes - "probably" more (but not loads) of sponsored stuff coming this year 😜
You are performing a service. Sponsored content is a natural extension of where you are aiming your channel towards. Know what? Nothing wrong with it. Of course, the first positive is because you chose the finish you wanted and they obliged. Nice demo!
Good point! I did chose the finish 😂🙈
Well done ME! 😂
But thank you for your feedback mate - much appreciated as always 🙏
Thanks for the video, Steve. Sponsored content is fine as long as you tell your viewers and are honest with your review.
Cheers mate - transparency and honesty is the only way - that's the plan 😃🙏
Although I'm not in a massive hurry to do loads more sponsored stuff just yet. 😅
Well deserved, you have worked hard for it, I have no problem with sponsorship as long as clearly defined.
Thank ya for the feedback and kind words mate! - Much appreciated 😀🙏
It's your channel Steve , you do what suits you not us , I'll watch no matter what 👍
Thank you so much mate - You absolute legend! 😀🙏
If ever there was a guitar finish that suits your band, it’s that one. Enjoyed the unboxing. You probably just need a wee fold up table in from of you and a camera (or phone) facing down.
Cheers mate - I do love the finish - I have to gig test it of course 😁👍
Great shout Re the table - A simple solution, but I still never thought of it 😂🙈
I thought he went full shill and they made him a custom guitar for his first sponsored video🤣
You are not compromised. You provide a service and should get something out of it.
Thank ya kindly for your feedback mate - much appreciated 😀🙏
Nothing wrong with sponsored content as long as it is informative, I am a sucker for an unboxing. We all love the feeling of a new guitar day so this is only a reflection of that. Always a little bit skeptical of these new designs, most end up as flops, but at least it's fresh. Better than the same old same old from the big names, where the best they can offer is a minimal change to justify a price hike. Keep up the good work and get that patron option running :)
Thank you so much for the feedback mate! 😀🙏
I remember many years a go when my mate told me about how his kid was watching loads of kinder egg unboxing videos...
"Unboxing videos? What's that?" said I
"Oh yeah... It's a massive trend these days very popular!" Said He
"Really!?!? people watch that garbage?! 😂"
Fast forward 12 or so years - not only do I love watching unboxing vids, now I'm making them too 😂🙈
Great review.
I was quite surprised it didn't have stainless steel frets too, given that they've almost become the norm with some of the high specced younger brands, and the fact that the carbon fibre staructure is built to last 🤷♂️
Very Cool Steve Thankyou. Interesting Unboxing and Guitar. Look forward to Review. All The Best. Cheers
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏 I'm looking forward to trying it out at a gig 😂👍
That neck heel contour is slick! Amazing what they can do since it's carbon fiber. That would be a handy guitar for a street musician! Thanks for sharing, Steve! Cheers!
Thank you mate! 😀🙏
You're right, with it being Carbon Fiber they could have went way overboard with the design if they wanted to, but sticking with a classic shape is probably a smart move, so it doesn't look too sci fi and alienate too many people.
I mean a lot of us still just love the classic and simple Tele's etc 😜
What a fantastic video have a great weekend Steve also I always liked the introduction
Thank you for the feedback mate 😀🙏 Hope you have a fantastic weekend too 🥳
Guitar would be great for a young person as their first guitar I think. Stunning colour!
That's actually one of the things I really want to test in the full video; can the onboard speaker keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit? 🤔 Also want to gig it and take it outside - once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶
Very interesting. Looking forward to a complete review.
Thank ya mate! It might take a while as this guitar has so many applications, I definitely need to gig it! But I also want to take it outside (when it gets warmer 😜). and keen to see if it can hold it's own (volume wise) with an unplugged acoustic outfit
Why not…take advantage of the sponsorship. Go for it. Actually a cool looking guitar.
Cheers mate! Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated 😀🙏
I do hope to one day be paid in a currency I can exchange for food and services 😜👍
But for now - I'm not complaining 😀👍
This is hugely appreciated and exactly the kind of insights I need to hear (or read) 😀🙏
I will be doing a more in depth vid in the future and you can bet the Guitar will be plastered all over the thumbnail in that one! 😂🙈
But yeah, I do like to try and maintain the mystery of the unboxings until the final "reveal" even though it's easy for it to be spoiled with the YT autoplay feature when scrolling over a thumbnail (on desk top) 🙈
I'm also guilty of doing the "coming up later" at the start in other videos.
Now that I think about it - those vids tanked 🤔
Cheers again mate!
🙏 Straight to the point 😂👌
It's weird, I totally agree with you Re Henning, but some people see it the complete opposite. It just shows, it's impossible to please everyone and earn a crust here on YT 😂🤷♂️
Interesting concept. Kids would love it I guess, saves having a big set up.
Good point mate 👍
It's even 1 step less than "plug & play" - Just play! (as long as it's charged 😜)
Congrats to your first sponsored video! 😀👍
Thank you so much mate! 😀🙏
I say your first sponsored video is a resounding success ! It’s a Bonnie guitar… a Bonnie Sponnie , you could say!
Thank you so much for the feedback mate! Much appreciated 😀🙏
Tis Bonny tho innit? 😍👌
It's pinky-purply. Looking forward to the next video.
Pinky-Purply is my new favourite colour 😂👌
Cheers mate 🙏
I think it's an interesting guitar for sure. You won't have to worry about the wood expanding and shrinking with changes in humidity.
Apparently so mate 😀👍
I'm yet to test the tuning stability, I've gotta change the strings and set it up a bit first, but the temperatures have dropped a fair bit here in Scotland atm 🥶 So it's probably a good time to start testing 😀👍
Very interesting-looking guitar. No problems with sponsored vids as long as viewers are aware and it's an honest review. Look forward to an in-depth review on this one!
Thank you so much for your feedback mate! 🙏
I'm looking forward to trying this one out at a gig - and maybe taking it outside for a walk once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶👍
The colour of the guitar, matches U. 😅❤❤❤❤
Ha! Thanks for noticing the extra wee efforts I go to 😂🙈👍
When you do sponsored product presentations you become what I call a stringfluencer.
Stringfluencer! - Brilliant 😂👌
Thank you for the feedback mate - Totally agree with you on all points 👍
As long as you're honest and fair with your critique then I have no problem at all with any sponsored video. TH-cam as a creator costs money so it's only fair that someone can be compensated for their work.
Thanks for sharing mate 🙏
That's generally how I feel about it too, I watch looaads of sponsored content here on YT all the time, and it's always clear to me what's going on.
Spot on mate! and thank ya kindly for sharing your feedback 😀🙏
Yeah the frets need polished - That's some ear you've got there mate! 😂👌
@ much love to ya man, would love to pick your Brain sometime! Having these ears is a blessing and a curse sometimes too lol. 😂
@@TreyShreddings Ha! Whatever you need mate! Got you on Insta - give me a shout anytime 😀🙏
I heard both pros and cons from your perspective Steve. It's as proper as you could make it
Thank ya mate! Much appreciated feedback 😀🙏
I could also ask the company - even if they don't know...
Great points well made sir - thank you for your feedback - hugely appreciated 😀🙏
Yes - there was loooads I missed out on this video. With the unboxings, I try to focus more on just the hands on unfiltered first impressions and the unboxing itself of course 😜. In this one, it wasn't that I was holding back info to keep for the more in depth video (although I do, do that with other guitars), but this one just does sooo much and has so many possible applications that the vid probably would have ended up being about 45mins long 😂
Great point Re the Andy vid - That's the vid that took him from like 70k to over 100k subs in like 2 weeks!
I'm hoping a company threatens to sue me too, so I can copy Andy's vid 😂👍
@ All power to your elbow, Steve. Keep up the good work. And you’re “weclome”.
Shill Cassidy - finest guitar channel on the net :)
Ha! Maybe I need a second channel for all the evil shill stuff 😂👍
Cheers mate! 😀🙏
Nothing wrong with sponsored content as long as it's honest. That being said... congratulations on your first sponsoring! Keep on the good work.
Thank you so much for the feedback and congrats mate! 😀🙏
It's not a sponsor, though, it's a gift. They've given him the product and asked him to review it. Now I can't trust Steve to not be thinking, somewhere in his consciousness, "If I give this a 4 star, when really it deserves a 3 star, I'll get more stuff to own (or sell) and more content to create."
So even if Steve doesn't intentionally lie to us, he's IMMEDIATELY being psychologically manipulated into viewing the product in a different light to one he's been loaned or had to buy himself.
@@peterclarke7240 Can't argue with that 👍
This is the video I've been hoping to see. I do understand the dilemmas.
Thank you for watching (and understanding) mate! 😀🙏
Good video, mate. Sponsored or not - without you I would have never heard of this thing. Waiting for full review with app and magnetic strap ... things.
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏
I'm looking forward to trying it out at a gig too 😀
@@baabaabaa-El it was only a matter of time before I succumbed to big carbon 😂👍
It had been sitting here for months and wasn't in tune out of the box. But now that I've unboxed it, (I still need to to string it) and get it set up to my liking... Now is a good time of year to keep tabs on it's stability because it just got really cold here Scotland this week 🥶👍
Cheers mate 😃🙏
@stevecassidyguitar
You poor buggas up there mate.. it's getting up to 34°C today, has been the last week.
Thank you so much for the feedback mate - hugely appreciated 😀🙏
Good shout Re the name in the Title - I'll definitely do that for the full review, but I try to keep the unboxing ones a surprise 😀👍 Looking forward to trying this one out at a gig too!
I pretty much feel the same way - I mean most of the stuff I watch from my favourite channels in the Guitar YT-sphere is all sponsored too, and I don't have a problem with it either. Just see it for what it is 👍
Great video. I thought you were very fair. Fwiw for a beginner, I'd have thought a £200 guitar with a £100 amp, and £100 multifx would be money better spent. I just don't understand who this is aimed at.
Thank ya kindly for the feedback mate 😃🙏
Yeah your suggestion for a beginner rig is probably a better one 😎👍
I think for a kid beginner it could be a more appealing option for their parents 😜 Just one all in one item to research/buy before birthday/Xmas 🤷♂️
But aside from that, it appears to have many applications, if you ignore the smart part and the speaker, it's a really well made carbon fiber guitar for £400! and it works just as a normal guitar through an amp too - it has an Alnico ii in the neck and Alnico V in the bridge.
Congrats Steve...love the channel
Thank you so much mate! 😀🙏
That's an oddball guitar. Interesting for sure. I like more traditional guitars, never been a fan of carbon fiber or gimmicky guitars. I've never even tried a headless guitar. Seems like an honest review to me. Cool camera setup too.
Cheers mate! 😀🙏
Yeah this one was a lot of firsts for me too - I don't even like single cuts in general, but a Purpley/Pink finish can make me look past almost anything else 😂
My 2025 goal - don't buy a "real" camera!
That's a great point Re Starcasters... I mean I would never do anything sponsored with Fender but still as an example... It would be hard for me to not love a Starcaster, So if I did a sponsored Starcaster vid and it was all positive, for someone not familiar with the channel, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd think - Paid Shill 🙄
The feedback I'm getting here seems to be a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kinda vibe, you can't please everyone and make an income off of YT.
Might have to just boil it down to;
It is what it is 🤷♂️ Eventually 🤔

@stevecassidyguitar Great reply, whatever you decide (cant' be easy) I will keep supporting your channel it's informative and entertaining!🙂

I like the editing in this video.
Cheers mate! I recently picked up the DJI action 4 (it was heavily discounted), so with it being 2 DJI's I'm using now, the colour grading finally matches on the 2 shots 😀👍
I mainly got the action 4 to get the super wide shot, So I can get better gig footage, by just clipping it to my mic stand to the side of me - I'm yet to test it tho
Shill Cassidy and The Sponsorship Kid :D
😂
That's a better name for the associated Shill podcast - Cheers 😁👍
Loved this video Steve, I’d love to try the Enya nexg 2 its has a loop pedal that comes with it and a microphone basically everything you need to gig on the spot!! Anyway keep up the great work mate!!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback mate! 😀🙏
Funnily enough I encountered those Nex G Guitars when I did the Guitar store walkthrough in China, and didn't really give them much thought.
Very cool though - they've got a lot going on 😀👍

Gonna start chasing for an IRN BRU sponsor next 😁
Aye, that might be a decent lil practice/teaching guitar 👍

I remember Cordy getting sent an avri 2 strat by fender, criticizing some of the qc issues and then never getting sent anything from them again, so he’s spot on about the influence that companies has. You can Say anything you want about the guitar, but if it’s negative, you’re going on the naughty list
That's it mate 👍
It would be easier if Fender could make better guitars again though 😜
But yeah, either tread carefully with what you say, or chose carefully who you work with etc... It's a minefield and I've got loads to learn here 👍
Great work mate 🎸👍🏻👏👏👏
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏
I'm keen to gig it for a start, but I'd also like to take it outside once it gets a bit warmer 🥶, I wanna try it out on the livestreams and also wan't to see if the onboard speaker is loud enough to keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit.
Good shout on the trons too 😁👍
Does it have any sort of FX loop. It’d be cool to chuck that and an HX Stomp in your back pack
I also want to see if the onboard speaker could keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit, and I'd like to take it outside (once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶)
and yeah like you said, also ideal for travel and/or practice. Could be a good shout for a busker too, whether using the speaker (if it's loud enough for the street - I'd guess not) or plugged into an amp, the carbon fiber construction could be ideal for playing out in the elements. I'm also looking into using it for livestreams.
Yet.. It would never be my number one 👍
Soz mate - got a bit carried away there - I think I just wrote the full review 😂
Thanks for letting me think (type) out loud here 😂🙈
Congratulations.
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏
Thank you so much for your feedback and thoughts mate - hugely appreciated 🙏
Stay honest though - It's pretty much that simple innit? 🤷♂️
I'm sure I can manage that 😀👍

It's a good travel guitar. No, you have not been compromised. You just showed the guitar and the facts.
Thank you mate! 😀🙏
You're right about it being a good travel guitar. I'm quite keen to try it out in a few different applications for the full vid, I want to gig it, and I also want to take it outside (once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶) and I want to see if the onboard speaker can keep up with an unplugged acoustic outfit 🤔
@stevecassidyguitar I like the idea of it bing an outdoor electric guitar. The right tool for the job.
I don’t see sponsored content as a problem, to be honest, a lot of my favourite channels have always done it and I think people are used to it by now. I think if you’re transparent about it, people can make their own minds up.
This all makes so much sense! 😃👍
But are we talking about the same internet here? 🤔
😜
Thanks for your feedback JoJo! Much appreciated as always😃🙏
Totally agree tho, pretty much all my favourite channels do sponsored vids too 😁👍
👍🏻👍🏻
Thank ya as always mate! 😀🙏
I think it might a design flaw, but a potentially cool and welcomed one - Comes with a Free Sustainiac 😂👍
ive worn glasses for 3/4 of my life and i want to know where i can get a pair like that
Ha! I'm actually very new to glasses! 🤓👍
I used to wear fake ones on the channel and had to explain that here:
th-cam.com/video/LKLu7dve2gc/w-d-xo.html
These ones are a "fake" pair I got from either Ali Express or TEMU (I think both sell them) and I just popped out the plastic lenses and got my new prescription lenses put in when I was in China recently. Prescription lenses are waaaay cheaper there 🤓👍
The color matches your scissors 😃
Ha! I wish I could tell ya that was intentional 😂👍
nothing wrong with sponsored content, it's part of the youtube ecosphere as it were
i think to some extent with the move from magazines to youtube , there's more of those discussion as to how valid the videos/opinions might be (like you brought up from John Cordy) , i think as long as the transparency is there and your opinions aren't compromised it's all good
i don't really feel this was ever the case with magazines, where the neutrality of the reviews or i guess sponsored content sometimes really got to me , everything basically being a 4-5 stars out of 5, no real idea about how things actually were until you looked up tones on youtube basically, but i guess that's a whole other topic
Excellent points well made sir - Cheers! 👍
I used to have a Guitarist magazine subscription back in the day - that was my favourite mag as it was mostly gear.

@stevecassidyguitar It's a nice little bass that I picked up for $117 and have actually gigged it.
SX are great guitars
Not a gigging guitar but could be handy for practice.
Agreed, Although I do want to try it out a gig too. Has a few interesting potential applications I'd like to try out 😀👍
@stevecassidyguitar Yeah, it would be interesting to see how it sounded through your rig or an amp as the sound from the speaker isn't very impressive. But it might sound totally usable amplified
@@petercollins4030 Ok so I wasn't gonna let on (hoping no-one would notice)... but... That 2nd mic I set up didn't work the best. I stupidly had the noise cancellation turned on, so I ended up using about 65% of the Guitar audio from the Lav Mic 🙈

Kinda! 😃
It's 1 Fender modern player Starcaster a Squier affinity Starcaster and a Squier Contemporary Active (highly modded) Starcaster.
I've got it bad 😬🙈
@ I’ve been watching for a deal I can’t refuse for one of the modern players on Reverb. They seem the be appreciating in price a little bit. I just discovered those guitars this year. They piqued my interest for sure! Very cool.
@Shroomer47 Incredible guitars mate!
I bought my Fender for £611 brand new in 2013, they go for around £900 used these days.
2 Squier lines just got discontinued recently too - also great!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts mate - much appreciated 🙏
Your right about the brand, I didn't really know what to think of them, initial thoughts were "gimmicky" but there's a lot of interesting stuff they're doing in one guitar here.
Even without the electronic techy things, the actual design of the guitar itself, with the carbon fibre construction, the neck access, zero fret, nut built in to the neck, and the truss rod access, that's all pretty impressive in of otself AND... It's Purpley/Pink! 😂👍
Looks like a great practice guitar for folks in apartments..
Agreed mate - It's got a few interesting applications. I'm gonna try gigging it and also want to take it outside - once it gets a bit warmer here 🥶

There are a lot of Pink Guitar deniers out there 😂👍

Looks and sounds like a toy. As far as "sponsored content", as long as it's disclosed and unbiased, I don't think there's any ethical issue!
The one they have in matte black looks quite menacing 👹 I reckon if they had a version without the speaker and smarts stuff, it could be more appealing to more players just for being a legit carbon fiber guitar 🤷♂️
Thank ya for your feedback too mate - much appreciated 😀🙏
Sponsored content for me is fine if they do not require you to be censored in your opinion. Some get paid handsomely for their reviews, so I guess it could influence their opinion. However, if you say something is great and it is not it will damage your integrity as a TH-camr. I have kinda alluded to this at Christmas time where someone was shilling inexpensive guitars as the best, when there were some great deals to be had on other brands.
Good on ya mate! 😀👍
If any Guitar brands are watching... I can easily be bought! Email me! 😜😂

I couldn't agree more on all counts mate 😎👍
Thank you so much for your insights and feedback 😀🙏
@stevecassidyguitar In addition I think channels who do the occasional sponsored video as opposed to every video being a "new exciting product" have proven themselves to be more genuine in a way as it's obviously not about getting paid but just enjoying making videos, at least that's how I rate content.
@@Blodtann That makes sense - I can instantly think of channels that fit both categories, and I know which ones I prefer to watch too 👍

Soz mate - was just having a bit of fun 😜👍
Thanks for the info though 😀🙏
You're spot on - thanks for sharing your thoughts mate 😃🙏
This experience and feedback from the community has given me a lot to think about going forward - cheers 👍
No one cares get paid. The problem most folks have with the game is people sneaking it in and hiding it in regular content.
Good point well made sir - Cheers 😀🙏

You're correct!
