Is Sunfyre Alive Or Dead? (HOTD Season 2)
Season 2 of House of The Dragon left many things up in the air. One of those was the fate of Aegon's dragon sunfyre. We have been given reason to think the dragon is dead as well as reason to think it is still alive. Today we try get to the bottom of what is going on. We also will talk about things that happen in fire and blood and after a spoiler warning we will get into major end game events.

Major GRRM Blog Post Drama Shows It's Do or Die Time For House Of The Dragon
มุมมอง 16K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
House of the dragon season 2 has ended and George RR Martin has made his feelings known. He went in so hard he has since deleted the blog post and I wanted to cover what he said about butterfly effects and why he chose the example he did to highlight in his blog. I want to explain what I think this means for the show going forward as well as where GRRM's head is at to make such a post. Will thi...

How Helena Got Into Daemon's Weirwood Vision (The Connected Magic of ASOIAF)
มุมมอง 16Kหลายเดือนก่อน
The House of The Dragon Season 2 Finale showed us Helaena Targaryen talking with Daemon Targaryen in the middle of his weirwood vision and it seems she was actually there talking to him. It wasn't just a vision of Helaena it was an actual astral projection of some sort. So how does this magic work in George RR Martin's world? Is she using a glass candle? Moon and Star Magic? Something Else? Has...
Why The Wind Is Talking In House Of The Dragon (And Why It Matters)
มุมมอง 28Kหลายเดือนก่อน
In season 2 episode 8 of House of The Dragon we got a scene that showed us a classic little bit of GRRM lore when we saw a whisper on the wind coming from a weirwood. This is a thing that happens in the ASOIAF books as well and might be setting up for something important in the winds of winter and beyond. This video I will try explain what is going on with the idea of the wind talking.
House of The Dragon Just Confirmed an Old Nan Story (The Green Men)
มุมมอง 75Kหลายเดือนก่อน
One of the biggest reveals in House of The Dragon season 2 episode 8 was something that happened very quickly before Daemon had his big Harrenhal weirwood vision of the song of ice and fire. We saw an antlered man walking up to the weirwood tree. Today we need to talk about who that was because it is really important.
The Magic Behind The Construction Of Harrenhal
มุมมอง 24Kหลายเดือนก่อน
The strange construction of Harrenhal was said to be a product of the arrogance and folly of Black Harren. But what if there was actually a magical plan behind the actions taken in the constuction of harrenhal and what if Harren the Black had found some ancient magical knowledge? I think we have the clues to piece together that this is likely exactly what happened and we might even have evidenc...
What Are Weirwood Seeds? And How Do You Grow A Weirwood?
มุมมอง 21Kหลายเดือนก่อน
There has been much talk lately about weirwood seeds and weirdly there is almost no mentions of them in the books, nor any details about growing a weirwood tree. So lets take a look at the clues George RR Martin has given us and see if we can solve the mystery of how would you grow a weirwood if you were transported into ASOIAF, and what are weirwood seeds anyway?

The Most Secret Magical Location In Westeros - The Black Gate

    I think this is pretty absurd theory-crafting honestly. Making up a story about Daenerys being a Blackfire in order to discredit her ultimately does nothing but further delegitimize the Blackfire name and claim, which is the whole point of the Blackfire rebellion(s) in the first place: to make themselves legitimate.

    Interesting how light and life are paired together, shadow presumably being paired with, in George's own words, 'another type of life' or something like that i.e. the shadows and the others. The life of the shadows are just that, a shadow of the being who is being illuminated by the light of life

    I think Dany and Viserys were meant to be distractions for Aegon. Robert and his court knew they were still alive so he'd have his eyes out for Targaryen survivors. If Dany was actively in hiding and Aegon was revealed as alive before they were ready, he'd be a much more credible threat as the 'son of Rhaegar' (whether or not he actually is). Dany and Viserys are essentially a smokescreen for Aegon, and a potential marriage pact should Aegon and Dany survive. It also explains why Dany and Viserys weren't really raised in the same way as Aegon. Sure they were housed and fed, but Viserys arrogant and vicious nature shows Illyrio probably wasn't a father figure for them. This would make sense if they weren't really supposed to survive, and just serve to keep eyes off Aegon.

    Honestly I side less and less with George as time goes by, if he had a regular day to day job I think he would be an insufferable coworker getting little to nothing done always distracted… but seriously he signed off on these shows being made, if he can’t trust show makers with his story don’t do it. The whole IP took a huge hit with the last season because he gave someone else creative control over his story. I don’t feel bad if he is making the same mistake with making two new tv shows based on the first half of Targaryen rule and three short stories. Finish something George

    The phrase "long in the dying" appears early on in the first book, A Game of Thrones. It's said in reference to Bran while he lies in a coma. So, if the show writer intentionally borrowed this phrase from the book, you can expect that they are simply setting up what actually happens in Fire and Blood.

    From looking at how wights burst so easily into flame despite being frozen corpses and how brightly human sacrifices burn, souls appear to be inherently flammable. This suggests that wildfire itself might be magical in nature and might actually be made from distilled souls, providing the sacrifice in and of itself. With the link between Melisandre and Aerion, is it possible that Melisandre was a slave in Valyria prior to the Doom? It would be strange if worship of the Lord of Light never reached the fire-obsessed Valyrians, even if it was only practiced by the slaves.

  • @yvettethomas3700

    I believe both the heart of winter and the heart of summer have been corrupted. If the heart of summer had been restored, the Doom would not still reign in Valyria. I don't think that hearts of winter/summer need restoration, I think they must be destroyed and replaced with a different system.

    I think most of this theory is spot on, but I have a pretty hard time seeing leaf=nettles. The children of the forest hated fire magic so much, they likely were involved in killing Valyria. The hammer of the waters breaking the arm of dorne earth shattering magic and the doom of Valyria back to back mass eruptions magic seems pretty darn similar. While yes the ghost of high heart was present for Summerhall, it seems she likely helped sabotaged it if anything given fire magic is associated with Rhylor, whereas wierwood death magic is associated with the faceless god

    I’m liking the direction you are taking but I have a couple questions. If this process creates the Others, why do it then? Also why is Blood Raven trying to stop it? From all implications he is being controlled by the children or this hive mind however you want to interpret it. If the Undying are the shadow bound form of these people stuck in the wall, are they also manifesting as the Others?

Also though for Winterfell? It isn't just Winterfell being warmed by whatever runs through those walls Cat is talking about. There are springs and pools that are warm as well...and the waters tend to be black. You know what else is steaming hot and black/oily? Mel's blood..not just hers either. IF a dragon flew out from under Winterfell? It came OUT of the pool by the Heart Tree in the Godswood there, see? JUST like Osha bursting out when Bran sees her AND she talks about dragons to Bran. And if it is hiding? It is hiding in the Vale. That Tourney Baelish and Sansa are planning...hmmm. You know what else I just thought of? The 'healing waters' of Maiden Pool. I wonder what color that water is currently?

    Stay with me, magnets. If the trees are fed blood, then when they circulate that blood through the tree it might create a magnetic field because there is "iron in the blood". This is what disrupts warging type abilities. Magnets.

    • @ninjalokust
      @ninjalokust 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Also, magnets in my science classes came with dual colors, red for positive and blue for negative. Weirwoods have red leaves, shade of the evening have blue leaves. Magnets, how do they work?

    • @ninjalokust
      @ninjalokust 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I came up with this as a part joke, the magnets thing but my brain hasn't let it go and some things have started to make sense. So we have two moons, a comet and at some point (going by david lightbringers theory) the comet collided with one of the moons raining dragons (meteors) onto the planet. We also have a planet trapped in a cycle of broken seasons, where Summer lasts too long and then winter does the same. So we are told the Children called down the hammer of the waters which again, relating to davids theory, is a meteor that crashes into the arm of dorne. They do this by blood sacrifice at the trees. Now, piece these things together with my magnet theory, the more blood you feed the trees the more "magnetic" they become, and this magnetic field can stretch out to alter the movement of the planet, moons and even passing comets. Someone who knew how to manipulate that field and cause its growth or indeed its weakening, could manipulate the length of season, the path of a passing comet into a moon or other planetary level events. I know it makes no sense, wood is literally one of the worst conductors of electricity and blood is not exactly so filled with metal that it can cause magnetic fields, still this is starting to actually make a huge amount of sense to me in a weird way.
