Great to see the excitement to hit Baxter and finding your friend. So awesome that she can join you for the final ascent!! Cool music is a bonus. So proud of you in so many ways. Thanks for pointing out the route up Katahdin ... can definitely see that false summit and why there is about a mile of relatively flat ground near the peak. Very excited for tomorrow's video!

For someone who's not the life of the party, Stick sure has all his female buddies singing "Magnet and Steel". We might need to get him a deli-counter ticket dispenser. I hope all goes well on summit day. Glad to see you have logistical/vehicular support there at Baxter, or I'd feel guilty about not having offered to schlep you around there.

Cheers to the success of Day 145. Except spaghetti and meatballs with green beans is a twist. Never saw that before. I applaud your enthusiasm and good humor. That is needed climb Katahdin. I climbed to the peak in June. It was mentally and physically exhausting. I started at 6:40 AM on the Hunt Trail. Got to the peak by noon. Took the Abol Trail down. Went the wrong way and found myself on the winter trail. That was a fine mess. With the help of a park ranger, I was at the Abol camp by 9:30 PM. But, you have two thousand miles of roots and rocks. Looking forward to the finale. Wishing you safe passage and success. Happy Climbing!

That was SO nice of your friend to drive all the way from Ohio to summit with you! That was really, really nice! Soon you'll be back in Ohio. That music is so cool; it reminds me of loons. By the way, the Sobo who finished already is from Akron, Ohio. Woohoo! That is so awesome getting through the 100-Mile Wilderness. What a great view of Katahdin from the Abol Bridge!

My wife and I took a day trip to Monson, Baxter State Park and then Abol bridge. Great view of Katahdin from there!

After following a few hikers for 5 or 6 months now, Im running out of encouraging words.😂 Lol. But I've very much enjoyed following, encouraging, and supporting you through it all. You were really cruising to get to you box. Im surprised that was the first time you did the 10x10 or 11x10. Nice flatish trail to sing camp songs❤ I dont think your to far from Ben on trail, and that group. You were a few more days behind them before. But I noticed they stayed at Antlers campground about the same day you passes through there. But everyones video download loads are different too. Kudos to your Aunt and Uncle for sending out a fantastic care package, so nice❤ Whenever I see those fig bars now, it reminds me of Stick rhe Eagle, lol Great tip of the day. Im always kind to people really without trying, it just comes naturally. Must be in my dna😂 I bet it was very nice camping next to the lake after your marathon day you had. Getting so close now. The more I listen to you I think teaching is going to be really good for you. You tried lifting people up in a preaching setting, but I think the school setting just might be the better fit.

What a stunning sunrise at the beginning! I look back on my life and am so thankful for all of the trips that I got to do. I loved each one of them. I thoroughly appreciated all the natural beauty that I've seen in the US and really enjoyed learning about other cultures through international travel. I'm really glad I had the opportunity to do all those trips! So cool about another trail magic! Maine definitely was different last year with all that rain. I fear this year's Sobos may find things way different from last year, too, only in a bad way rather than a good one. The Southern AT really got hit hard by Hurricane Helene in recent days. “More than a third” of the southern Appalachian Trail is currently inaccessible to hikers as the southeastern United States recovers from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) said in a statement on Sept 28th. A.T. Communities such as Damascus, VA; Erwin, TN; and Hot Springs, N.C. have been devastated, and all national forests in Georgia and North Carolina are currently closed as is Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Beautiful sunrise! The Rainbow Stream Lean-to supposedly had a baseball bat floor, but you did not show it ... and you are a baseball fan. Still trying to picture why it is called that. So glad you have someone to hike the last 2 days with!

I hope its Frizzle and Nickles who meet you at the end. It wold be beautiful if they did. I will have my box of tissues ready for that summit episode..

When you were singing your camp songs, it brought memories back of when I was a camp counselor. I only did it 3 summers but to this day, I still sing a number of those songs learned long ago. Your first song sounded like "You Are My Sunshine" tune and the second sounded like a Christmas song tune... I'm thinking your second view of Mt K was the same one in Badbat's... 🥲... you mention a friend possibly joining you and am I like Nickels? PBJ? Maybe even MP3? IG didn't give it away but I thought I heard a girl's voice... I hope someone did it with you.. Happy Trails! 👟🎒🌲⛺️🗻💚

The post office has done great until the last box ... sorry you had to start so early to make it to Jo-Mary Rd on time, but 15 by 11 and 26 on the day is very impressive! And you still saw the dog! And multiple great views of Mama K! What an amazing journey and thanks again for bringing us along!

I would recommend more dietary fiber.
