I would suggest at this point looking at your mental game. I verbally congratulate myself on every good shot I make, and ignore the bad ones by focusing on the next shot during play. After the round is the time to assess your errors and see what one or two things that needs to be worked on during your practice sessions. I recommend two books, both by the same author: The Short Game Bible, and, Damage Control.
I tried to watch but just a little too much talking. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback!
That's a women. Cake for all😊
Lifting up almost at impact, maybe conscious of where it’s going, keep going 🙏, definitely going to get better.
For sure 💪
you're not far off from being able to hit it more consistently, you need a instructor to help you with your hands on the backswing, the rotation and balance are actually really good
Couple of lessons, and she will be hitting it farther than me in no time!
Tough day for the 2 old-timers. Hopefully, they got a rain check.
First off She don't waste time with line up, practice swings and grip etc. And she looks great doing it!
We are used to trying to keep up with pace of play 😅
Nice to see others play but its painful to see you aim 50 yards left to make it go 50 yards right. Can you try a neutral grip with your regular swing and see if that helps? Please do a practice vid of you using wedges with weight on front leg and full pendulum swing without the scoop? I would love to see how that translate to the course.
The scoop is very subconsciously done and I realise i do it instantly after the shot 😅 very frustrating, but advice that I will definitely try!
She hit some really good shots here and there
Just need to work on that consistency!
Looks like a great course. Thanx for sharing with us. Camera guy suggestion...Do your best not to interrupt when she begins to speak. Give her time to think about what she wants to say. Also don't put suggestive talk out there when she's trying to think and focus and learn. Like, after she hits a shot....... don't say, "Ok, now we just need to punch one low out of the trees and skip it up to the front of the green." Things like that. She will put that pressure on herself mentally. Let her learn. If she is really undecided on what to do, let her ask at that time. You did amazing with the enthusiasm and compliments for her. Great camera work and great job with the shot tracers. Overall a great video to enjoy in my opinion.
At 14:05 that was just right. It seemed like Tanya had to time to assess and predict different outcomes on her own. Then she asked for an experienced opinion. Perfect. I was actually relieved at that point. LOL. In the beginning I was anxious that all this talk was being pushed on her and she was getting overwhelmed. At least it seemed that way.
Ehhhh, at 15:10 I'm not sure what happened. She had something in mind that caused her to aim way right....at the bunker. LOL. Maybe just a beginner misunderstanding. Sorry Tanya....the club on the ground was pointing at the bunker. It seemed like a good shot, we didnt' here how you thought the contact was. But it looked like a good shot...just....aimed at the bunker. LOL.
Okay, I take it back. Camera guy you are doing well overall. Not quite as suggestive as what it seemed in the beginning. Tanya at 22:00....we have all been there girl. It is so easy to get the body set in weird ways when playing golf. LOL. Just take the persons alignment advice and roll with it. I can't tell you how many times I've told my friends they are F--ing with me about my alignment....but they weren't.
You're right about the beginning, I think i was overloading her, but after a few holes we got into a rhythm. Was actually a lot of fun 😁
Have you considered spending a little longer on the green reading the camber of the putt and trying to work out your aim point I.e. predicting how much it will break?
Our course really packs the groups in, every 8 minutes there's a tee time, so it really puts the pressure to keep up with pace of play. Sometimes I just feel too rushed 😭
Can I give you a tip for bunkers?
Come to London. You’ll be welcome for a round at our club
Next time we're in London!
I only think about 2 or max occasionally a third thing: 1) Watch the ball at contact point 2) Show intention to hit the ball in the desired direction If you find it’s not going in your desired direction 3) Make sure your club face is square to your target as you set up and take a practice swing. You’ll be great in no time. key is never stop enjoying the game because that will be your greatest incentive for improvement. You’re a strong girl with a lot of potential. Don’t let anyone bring you down. I get the feeling your golf will improve quickly. Also keep in mind Jon Rahm he wouldn’t let anyone touch his swing despite it being so unconventional…but he’s a masters champion. Your best coach will be the one who gets the most out of what you’ve got instead of trying to confuse you and turn you into something you’re not. Enjoy the game. Best of luck!!
Watch the ball contact point even for a fraction of a second after contact…does that make sense? Have an intention for direction but keeping your eye on the ball at contact and not out in front will really help. If you can’t get good contact then the shot outcome will always be difficult. Also work seriously hard on chipping and putting. You’ll be surprised how often you used your round the green wedge and putter compared to anything else. Good luck!!!
I find this very relatable. Unfortunately.
I feel you 😅
Why is all your weight on your trail leg when doing bunker shots or some of those chips? That's like the complete opposite of what you're supposed to be doing. Bad boyfriend!
Can relate to this, where is the fun in this? little voice saying to me , take up something else, something thst doesn't cheat you so much.
But then you almost get a hole in one and feel like a king 💪

This a gatekeeping and attention seeking comment
What a dumb comment to make

To be fair, we filmed this back in October 😅 waaayyyyy too cold now
Better than some women I’ve had the privilege of playing behind. 😭😭😭😭😭
Must have been rough 😭
The two blokes playing with them were just as good.😉
I think her scoring could really improve with positive mindset and 9 iron near the green lose sandwedge
Agreed 👍
What a hottie
Lookin good and you're playing better than 50% of those commenting. I'll add my two cents and say, to lay the club across the tips of both feet pointing the handle of the club in the direction your toes are pointing. Turning your head will give you a different direction than the FACE of your club. It takes practice to marry your head turn and club face. Best to turn your head while your bend forward in your golf posture to get a "truer view" and this takes practice to find a technique to give you better direction. THIS WILL CHANGE where the bottom of the club hits. Put your weight on the lead leg for 95% of shots. Whether its 90/10, 80/20/ 70/30 most are 60/40, 50/50 at most. Never more weight on trail leg EVER. Especially in the bunkers. Your other half taught you the bad scooping habit. No Bueno. Try lifting trail foot off ground to force weight forward. Keep weight forward and relearn finesse shots around the green to take away ALL FEAR. Lastly-To reduce those hard slices like on 7th that almost hit dude, Swing arms first, then trail shoulder. It will be and feel the Same swing/timing, just hands and arms go first together before trail shoulder. Let the trail arms pull the trail shoulder. Shoulder first means club face way opened. Arms and hands means face on ball flush. Hope we get another vid quicker this time.
Very in depth! I'll have Tanya read this
@@fromduffertodriver Iike so many, I find myself being a keyboard coach hoping to "Help". Y'all use the the face of the club to show direction. I find it easier to point the handle part. Seems her Trail shoulder gets to ball first and face is opened. If she has a weak grip, it will always be opened or fly/slice to the right. She needs to take note of which grip she uses ALL THE TIME and note when its weak, strong or neutral. I suggest going neutral to see but check them all. Strong will make it go left. Hope to see a new vid soon dude for either of you.
Your aiming at the bunker, shut up then hits it in the bunker 😂😂😂😂I love it
Stand way closer to ball
Going to have her try this!
We all start somewhere. We always make strides and you ms lady did today. Ran into your page today and I see the grind. All I can tell you is practice your positive talk. Negative talk won't help. Good luck.
Thank you, gotta keep positive!
Golf supposed to be relaxing 😂 never heard that one before
lol yeah could have fooled me 😅
Honestly look at how much better your shots turn out when you don't put all your weight on the back foot. Work on even weight distribution and you'll be cutting of that handicap in no time.
Thanks for pointing that out! Should help bring that handicap down
too much wrist action try an swing through the strike completely like in hockey action keep ur head still but cant complain otherwise goodlooking video😜😜
Thanks! 😁
Your golf swing, athleticism, and potential ability are much better than a 30+ handicap.
Thank you!!! I feel that too - untapped potential. Just gotta work on it with a coach!
It’s not your feet alignment, it’s your club head. You’re doing everything right up until you set your club down. You’re hitting it exactly where your club head is pointing
This helps, thank you!
When chipping weight on front foot & stop leaning backwards. Too much hand flipping hold your wrists solid throughout swing
When I took lessons, we were taught weight on the back foot
@ when chipping or hitting pitch shots your weight should be on front foot & if you want the ball to be low and run out long you move the ball position towards your back foot. If you want higher launch to get over bunker you move ball up on your front foot. Look at any pro male or female golfer you will not see them with your technique. Must of all enjoy what you’re doing & have fun.
@@MyPettawayLife I'm going to ask about this at my next lesson so I can understand what you're saying better.
Ask her to shorten her stance with her irons. Her feet are to wide apart not allowing her to turn enough to hit towards the target. Just keep having fun your doing awesome
Great advice thank you!
Great video. I have some tips to share: Just chip it into the edge of the green. You don't need to flag hunt. It's easier to try to two-putt than to pinhunt with the 56 at your skill level. Also, with short chips, think of the wedge as if it were a putter. Hopefully, these tips might make your short game a bit more enjoyable.
Thats good advice!
She has a good swing,...but expectations are way too high....i , a few years ago was a 40 handicap... now an 8, she has a good future.. stop stressing.. watch Golfsidekick
Two pars is pretty good.
Two pars is really good 💪
Swinging waaayyy too hard.
Gotta hit it far 💪 maybe a slower swing will help?
She needs to watch Saguto Golf. He is the best. Her swing isn't too bad, but she needs to stay on her left side and keep her spine angle through the swing. Topping the ball because yer coming out of posture. Feet should be close together on chip shots and weight all the way left. But seriously the swing ain't bad. Like I said watch Tom Saguto. He is the Best! Also, weight forward on driver but sweep up on swing. Don't shift weight! That's a fallacy
agree and she also lift her toes and rocks back and forth and some shots her weight is on her heels and slices the ball.
My final advice is get some lessons under your belt 👍🏾👍🏾
I found a new coach and she’s awesome!
Oh you have to listen more. Golf is about listening more and less talking back !
I totally give you credit for getting out on the greens. As I watch your game. A few things jump out. I will help you on one …when pitching or in the sand bunker. Your weight is 60/40weight on the left foot . Your camera guy should have pointed that main issue out! He’s fired! My advice your game will instantly improve…good luck!
HE’S fireddddd
Noooooo
Too much pressure to be good; just have fun!
Lmao I only have fun if I’m winning. Definitely working on that!
The important thing is, she looks good doing it
Yes she does ❤️
I try!!
I think what she's doing wrong regarding the miss hits is that she is getting no compression hitting behind the ball. when you hit behind the ball, the ground gets in the way and screws up your shot. If you like to practice at the range, try picking a point an inch or two in front of the ball and hit that, it should make it easier to get compression and let the loft of the club get the ball in the air. She is very motivated and fiery, I'm sure she'll learn fast if you work on getting compression!
I have the same issue honestly. We should practice this together!
I tried that today and it works- thanks!
So ya both know, according to the World Handicap System for those without a registered hcp, the maximum score is par plus 5 strokes then pick up or not but the score does have a max numba 👍🏻
I think you're right when it comes to Handicap - but I believe if you were in a tournament and shot a 20 on one hole, you would still card a 20 for the hole. It's just for the handicap calculation it would only count as a 10 (on a par 5). To be honest I wasn't sure how to score that hole when she picked up as the course doesn't have a max score per hole.
@@fromduffertodriver I'd imagine at a tournament they'd set the max per hole score. For maintaining an actual hcp index it's net double bogey (Par of the hole + 2 strokes), for rec golfers it rly doesn't matter lol but to keep pace of play going the WHS max score is 5 over par then pick it up. When I play with a rly high hcper we usually pick up after 3 extra strokes as it's then slowing everyone's round or I'll say just play from my ball or someone else's ball that's in play. Gotta keep the game fun for us rec'ers! um that's not wreckers 😂 I'm not a stickler of the rules when I play I enjoy mullies mullie mullies!). I was simply pointing out no rec golfer should be scoring 10s 😉⭐⭐
Totally relatable to this 60yo novice golfer from England! This is pretty much exactly how my golf is at the moment, including the constant frustrations, the holes where almost nothing goes right, and the occasional triumph (personally I'd be pretty pleased with 2 pars in 9 holes). This thing of sometimes simply aiming in the wrong direction, even though at the time it seems right (which Tanya did once, or maybe twice?), is something I've recently noticed I do quite a lot. It's especially annoying if I then hit a good straight shot - but end up miles from the target. I'm told the solution is to pick a third spot, nearby the ball and in line with the target, so all three are aligned ... but I haven't cured it yet.
I've gotten that feedback too - to pick a third spot in line with the ball
Aiming with the clubface towards a small target upp to 300 yards away is really difficult. If I try just to aim at a target 100 yards out on the range and then place my club along my toes, I always find myself aiming far to the right of the target, it can be up to 30 yards. That will then promote an out to in-swingpath, as the brain wants to hit the ball to the target. Aiming at something on the ground, just 0,5-2 yards away (the closer the better) makes it much easier to aim and to hit the ball straight. Even pros use this method, so us novices should. Also training with the alignment stick out on the course sometimes is good.
14:22 my high hcp answer is you stood too far from the ball. The ball's in a wee bit of thicker grass. It would have been better to stand closer to the ball, grip down on the club (like a 6or5 cuz the grass is 80% of the time screw'n with your normal shot and if ya hit it too well better to be in front of green and on the fairway than behind the green in thick grass or screwed over by a tree..bunker etc) and lean your weight forward toward the target (shorter backswing is ok..ya using a longer club) to give yourself a better chance at hitting down on the ball with a normal swing. And to be honest, standing a lil closer to the ball on all the iron shots with weight forward (say 60-40 split - aka stack 'n tilt) and handle in front of the ball can increase better ball contact by 60-80% guaranteed for higher hcp golfers. Try it. Ya'll like it. Anywho..always enjoy watching Tanya on the channel. I like her spirit and aggressive swing ⛳✌🏻
You should see my tennis forehand - my coach thinks i'm too aggressive, all the time lmao
Great feedback, thank you!
@@iamtanyamarie 😂 good one..next time ya swinging that driver think forehand and rotate that thang!
@@jcgolf159 LOOOL

Frustration, arguments, pure joy... this round captures all of the emotions of golf 😊 keep at it Tanya!
