This is the realest golf channel on YT - you paint a good picture of what the everyday golfer looks like. Would love to see you break 100 consistently on the channel!
I was showing A LOT of restraint this day lol. I really felt like yeeting my clubs into the water at one point, but had to stop and take a deep breath 😅
Its fun to watch your progression! This reminds me of my entire first season in 2021 (on the exact same course too). BTW.... while developing your handicap, the highest you can score on any particular hole is a PAR +5. So, your score for this round is actually a 61 (hole 3 and 6 are capped at 9 strokes)
keep practicing my man. i’m around a six or seven handicap, largely because i’ve being swinging golf clubs since i was about six years old (plus i was a hockey player which helps lol) and i was more or less where you are at one point too. i nearly shot par for the first time last fall, got some new clubs this winter and am looking forward to trying to continue to get better! but even now i still have days where i feel like my tee shots are a completely foreign concept and my confidence is completely shot. that’s golf for ya!
Grats on almost shooting par! It's nice to see that I'm not alone in what I'm going through, and there's still hope for me yet! Gotta keep practicing 💪
Hi Joseph from Essex in England. I'm guessing you are in Canada if the drop zone signage is a clue, I'm afraid I'm not too good at North American accents. You are possibly the most honest high-handicapper I have watched on TH-cam, and you have given me so much encouragement watching this video. After a few weeks of improvement, I reverted to terrible golf last week and seriously thought about giving up. Thanks for the content and relaxed feel of the video. As you say, the most important thing is to be in the moment and enjoy the round.
Really happy that you're enjoying the videos! You nailed it on the head, from Canada, so we only get 6 months of golf here 😫 Don't give up my friend, hang in there. The lows are there so that the highs feel so much better 💪
I’m pretty sure you can move that loose tree branch as long as it doesn’t move the ball! It’s not a hazard or part of the course or anything. Great video
It’s a guilty pleasure to watch high handicap golf on TH-cam because I remember when I was there as an adult learning golf five years ago. I’m a single digit handicap now so you can do it. Just stick with it and practice lots!
I'm a 34 hcp n mainly score around 55 on 9 at home courses. When i travel n play in tournaments i tend to swing 60! They are longer courses n I'm not as familiar with them as i am with home ones!
Brother, that was painful to watch, just kidding. One thing I used to think when I was over my shot was to pretend I was at the driving range. It is so easy to be confident over your ball at the driving range and I swear the second I started doing that I was so much more confident over the ball. You are very tentative and sometimes play it too safe. Its not sensible to lay up to a thin fairway beside water when the shot over the water isn't far. You have that shot in the bag just be confident over the ball.
Was very painful lol, but yes, I was not confident at all my first round back. I have to think more with the mentality that I have the shot in the bag, like you said! 💪
Joseph bro I know your problem, I'm a +2 handicapp and I violently cough my lungs out after a bong rip right before every round. Your not stoned enough to break par bro

Thank you!! My goal this season is to break 100 consistently and maybe get close to hitting 90 💪
Ehh we got the same goal bro! Let’s crush it! 🤙🏽💪🏽
I'm impressed how cool you remain when things ain't going your way. Getting mad and not thinking is what keeps us high HCs from getting better.
I was showing A LOT of restraint this day lol. I really felt like yeeting my clubs into the water at one point, but had to stop and take a deep breath 😅
Your first hole was literally the same as my first hole last weekend. Refreshing to watch! Cheers
Hopefully you scored better than I did 😅
Great to see some regular golf. Very relatable.
Thanks!

Thank Goodness! You hit it in the water twice and suddenly your score implodes 😅

Thanks! Good to know for next time 👍 Luckily I had a good shot anyways!
Dude those greens are rough!
Yeah, they were upgrading the sprinklers, so a lot of the greens were in rough shape... rougher shape than usual lol
ur a cool guy good vid
Thanks!

Can't wait to start bringing that handicap down! First step is to break 90 💪

I like that you're playing in tournaments! Never played competitively before
We need more Tanya in the vids !!
Next video will star her!!
What are you using for the overhead shot tracer?
Was messing around with Google Earth Studio and the Shot Tracer app, but I have to do it all manually 🥵
Hey man, I noticed your slice is identical to mine! I legit just dropped a short about how I started managing mine and for the most part it’s gone.
Grats man, getting rid of your slice is huge!
@@fromduffertodriver thanks a million man! Are y’all on instagram too?
Good video. Try visualizing those shots. Tell your subconscious what you want to deliver. You look a little uncommitted. But your swing looks solid.
Yeah I need to work on committing to the shot. When I don't, I do wierd things like scooping
Go back to the driver and just keep grinding. I can tell you’re trying to scoop your short shots as you say. I like your videos. They are relatable.
Thanks! I'll be bringing the driver back out in my round tomorrow and start the grind 💪

Hmmm.
I think you need practice addressing the ball.
hmm, care to elaborate? Is my address completely wrong, am I too far forward or backwards? Is it all over the place?
Wait Turkeys can fly? 😂😂😂
I was so confused! 😅
Joseph bro I know your problem, I'm a +2 handicapp and I violently cough my lungs out after a bong rip right before every round. Your not stoned enough to break par bro
Never thought about it that way! Maybe I'm too tense
I u r a 34 Handicaper
If I played every round like this, then 100%
I'm a 31 Handicaper I can do better than that😄
I believe it. This was my worst round I ever recorded! Usually I'm shooting between 95-105 over 18 holes
