Best advice for new golfers, start by playing only PAR 3. I am addicted to golf, and my first ever round of golf was at your local golf course (Dorval, CEGEP 1988). I knew I could like it, but it was not fun at all to carry a bag (no push cart) and hit bad shots all day long. 16 years later, I went with friends on a PAR 3, and I became addicted, I play at least every Sunday since then.
BEST ADVICE EVER. My dad said to hit the ball in in the air/carry the ball at least 150 yards before you play a normal course. Then your not dribbling the ball all over the course. That means it could be a 7-wood, 8 iron, 7 iron. It may take about a year. In germany you have to get at least a 5 on a 125 yard hole to play a real course.
That rule in Germany is pretty interesting 🤔 pretty much ensures you can hit the ball a little over 100yrds, get on the green and 3 putt. Seems like a typical par 3 for me 😅 I agree with the 150yrd advice. Trying to get a consistent 150yrd will make you feel like you're playing real golf instead of only pitch'n'putt
Nice video bro. I want to get into golf! I got into it years ago, but then got out of it due to many life factors. Hoping to pick it up again. I actually do have friends who golf, so it should be doable this time! I actually really would love to get my wife and kids started as well. I have two young daughters (3 & 6), I would like to start them early! Any tips for that?! 😅
Having friends to help you get into golf is key! It was easy to get my girlfriend to play with me, she will never pass up an excuse to spend time outside and loves being competitive. Good luck on getting your daughters hooked, let me know how that goes!
Just tell your kids to brush the grass with the sole of the club. They wont understand positions or anything like that but if they can brush the grass, they can play golf
Here is my advice; the #1 thing a beginner golfer needs to figure out is how to hit a golf ball on the face of the club. Everyone who has watched golf on TV knows what a golf swing looks like and can basically replicate it, the grip, etc. Shortcomings in the swing would be due mostly to a lack of sheer physical talent. So, a full-length mirror is probably all that is needed. How to put that club face on the ball? There's the trick. Paid lessons are an option, but that investment may be taking the person into a different and unwanted level of psychological seriousness for the game.
Very good bit of advice! Hitting the ball is half the game, and it's really hard for beginners to do that reliably. I need to get myself a full-length mirror
I thought I was watching a well established youtube channel with xxK subscribers. Great job at 851 susbcribers. Very well, informative and helfpful.
Thanks! Really appreciate the compliment. More videos are coming soon!

Great advice! Would have helped a lot with some early frustration 😅
Just started researching into golf, and I definitely was lost to where to start. Thank you for this video
Hope to see you out on the course soon!

Can't wait for the start of the season!
Same! Hitting the outdoor driving range today for the first time this year!
Start by chipping and just thinking brush the grass under the ball.
Then build that into a bigger swing with the same feeling.
I'll be brushing the grass next time I'm out on the course!
Thanks
No problem!

Costco sells golf clubs and bags and have an unlimited return policy 😅
I need to get a Costco membership ASAP
Have you been chewing your microphone?
I keep the microphone so close to my face that I accidentally take chunks out of it 😅
So make above 200k a year 😢
I'd be playing some much nicer courses if I made 200k a year 😅
@fromduffertodriver nah seriously, I liked your video and I am trying to get into golf
