If there is one show that needs a 3d animated reboot, its CENTURIONS. Sure, a third of the show is all stock footage of them combining with their Assault Weapon Systems, but THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT.
Aha! So that's the reason why Skeletor keeps hiring bumbling fools! They make him smarter! 😳🧐😂
Mattel needs to make a figure of that!!!!
Arthur Burghardts headshot will always haunt my fantasies.
Skeletor says 'damn' to their dam. ;) :D And acknowledges that his help is not the best. :D Also Man-at-Arms, Skeletor is the Evil Lord of Destruction. So destroying a dam is something that eh admits that he CAN do! LOL.
The last line by Skeletor, makes the clip.
Always makes me laugh when he fires the pursuit arrow looks like a nuke or a really big missile and it turns into a net lol seems allot ust for a net lol
Gotta admit, stealing food is one of the most novel scheme a cartoon villain could come up with that's actually evil.
Wait, how have you heard that before? This is the first time I've ever discussed a plan in front of you. Wait, are you He-Man? Holy shit, KILL HIM WHIPLASH!
At least he was animated, King Hiss never did until the He-Man series in the 2000s
Prince Adam and Man-At-Arms playing psychology 😂😂
🙂👍🏾🎥
Bananaman memory lain is deemed a penultimate episode for season 2 meaning second to last but I like to think that after memory lain all of Eric's friends knew who bananaman was and that's why all the villains went after him in operation total in episode 15 of season 3 and I also think in season 3 the villains where less afraid of bananaman maybe because they know who he is and that's why Dr gloom and general blight try to split his molecules in episode 15 of season 3 maybe because they know Eric has the powers of bananaman and they wanted to get get rid of bananaman like general blight said that he wanted to get rid of bananaman once and for all and if that ment getting rid of Eric and bananaman I wouldn't put it past him but you also could say Dr gloom could have just made the machine to separate banana man from Eric since Dr glooms a professor and crow saved bananaman just before the laser beam hit him meaning this is possible and that the machine was meant to split banana man from Eric not destroy him but in my opinion if they ever did do a season 4 I like to think it would have introduced new characters and villains who didn't know bananaman's real identity with maybe the exception of one character in the show apart from crow and maybe phasing out the original villains like general blight, Dr gloom, appleman etc by making them all old and retire in the show as they would have been in season 1 all the way to season 3 and season 4 focus could have been the new characters rather than the old ones but we will never know
Optimus Venger
These are simply the best. Hearing the behind the scenes is just fascinating and I absolutely love these. Cannot wait for the next part.
Well, Overlord on Sagar did it earlier.
I just love Lion-o in this episode before being mummified ❤❤❤😮😮😮
Wally Burr reminds me of Frank Langella a bit. I really admire these voice actors, like you say, no phoning in. I watched a very old Japanese voice actor session from 'AKIRA' which was fascinating. They matched the story boards up to the actors voices as i recall
I Loved Tung Lashor's Appearance In She-Ra The Princesses Of Power (The More Recent One BTW)
The voice of Shockwave!
9:36 15:25
IIRC the 2010s Thundercats reboot was canceled before a cliff hanger could be settled where the Thundercats were in massive peril. I can't recall the details anymore. So in Canon, Mum-ra won.
nice. Yeah, it's well-established that He-man isn't completely invulnerable, especially to stun rays and the like. Too bad he didn't have his shield. BTW the way Galvatron and Hordak blow up viewscreens and such, I'd love to see a showdown between G1 Galvatron, and Filmation Hordak, lol.
Excellent cover of the premise of the difference between the two series
🙂👍🏾part 1🎥.
That's pretty deep and dark for an 80's cartoon. But it's also true to life for wartime situations. Sometimes, you can't save a village.
Heh. Funnily enough, I was just talking about that episode of She-Ra with my wife in the last couple of days!
I like how after Megatron says “the space bridge will be open in five seconds,” Starscream looks at his wrist as if he has a watch.
Yep. Nice reminder that this isn't Josie and the Pussycats we're watching. You wanna see the good guys win, watch that! (Sorry, was reminded of the theme of that show and how they bragged on how the good guys win.)
She-Ra has always been the better written character and story for me. Like I said in the last video, the Great Rebellion has an advantage over the Defenders of Castle Grayskull because Adora and friends were fighting from the ground up to change society instead of already being in power and fighting for the current status quo in place. Audiences like to believe they're the rebels in general so they love seeing stories about rebellion and the idea the masses have the power to end suffering and chaos brought on by systematic abuse, so a rebellion just has more appeal. Plus, She-Ra was simply more politicaly charged and had more poignant episodes delving into better character development despite the fact the show still didn't embrace ongoing stories from episode to episode. Book Burning is very profound for an eighties kid show and its unapologetic depiction of a fascist society erasing history by getting rid of books and persecuting teachers teaching the truth was not only fascinating back then, it's still (unfortunately) relevant to this day. And then there's stuff like Stone in the Sword showcasing better character development, and Laughing Dragon, and Flowers for Hordak showcasing better comedy to me. I guess we shouldn't be shocked as She-Ra was headed by the man who went on to make Babylon 5 and another who would go on to write for Beast Wars. This continues in this day. The Dreamworks reboot of She-Ra is better than any attempts to reboot He-Man after the classic Filmation run ended. It has more thematic potency and goes further with the anti-colonization, anti-imperialism, how it's like to suffer under abuse, and potent depiction of how fundamentalist cults operate elements than any other reboot. No shocker as its showrunner was a smaller webcomic artist who made Nimona. Another fantasy story about rebellion featuring a young woman in a sci-fi/fantasy setting, and when adapted accurately into a film almost won an Oscar. I think it also goes to show how big a role marketing plays in all this. Mattel arguably is still hesistant to market the Princess of Power brand whenever the opprotunity comes up in comparison to He-Man and friends. They still have this stigma against the idea they can market action franchises to girls that other toy comapnies unfortunately have. Marketing tells us He-Man is where it's at because he's way more promoted, but She-Ra to me has always been the real winner.
That is a great episode of She-Ra! One of the best.
I know that its a light hearted Saturday mornign cartoon but I also wish there were more episodes that highlighted this fact. I also think that a new She-ra series with a darker tone would probably work now more than ever, with the Great Rebellion constantly moving around in the Whispering Woods to escape the Horde, Glimmer and the others have to blend in with the common folk in the villages to avoid patrols of Horde troopers, maybe even finding out there are spies within them.
It's really weird how off Chris Latta sounds as Starscream in this episode. Weak and low energy performance. He nailed the role already perfectly in More than meets the eye Part 1-3 but then here he sounds like he's been away for a year or two and has forgotten the character. Wally sure gives the actors a lot of line readings as a director, which is usually something that the actors hate more than anything. And what is usually a "sign of a bad director". But it definitely get the job done when the clock is ticking and the dialogue has to be recorded for the episode in 1 or 2 hours... The great end result definitely speaks for itself.
Perhaps It was not an ok- period for Latta
@@papina54 Yeah, it could be. Well, luckily one weak performance doesn't ruin an otherwise great performance as Starscream.
Wow hardcore hordak
The Horde may have succeeded in destroying the village, however (spoilers)....... He-Man DOES survive and the villagers have their freedom, believing their sacrifice of their homes to be worth it at the end of the day. as they would rather be free then oppressed by the Horde. The true moral of the episode. ;)
Yes the Horde wins. Evil triumphs over good. This is something I would like to have seen more of in He-Man and She-Ra. One series that did this really well was Exo Squad. That really showed war in full and for a children's TV show too. If they applied to what happened in that show. To the episode of She-Ra. While the Horde was victorious. They would have been a cost. Pulling troops from other areas. For this massive attack and guaranteeing a win. In the long run would have weakened their position. It's amazing that these two series were made just over five years apart. Really shows the development of kids TV. Also got to say that is one fine piece of production art of Skeletor. Looking so imposing from that view. 😊
I would loved a less cookie cutter ending- oh well 😂
So the show could have had a much darker tone to it that it ended up with?! Interesting 🤔 Also, 1st 😂
These are absolutely fascinating. I watched these episodes a hundred times as a kid, and it's funny how much care Wally is putting into the voice acting/direction whenever the editors and overseas animation are going to end up goobering their work significantly.

Those pathetic humans will learn to kneel before Megatron!
I actually like Gravedigger as a name.
This possessed Peter venkman sounds like Megatron
I'm surprised you could find fifty things about her, and even praise her as one of the best. Not that she didn't deserve it, just female characters always seemed to take second or third place in 80's cartoons, with She-Ra being one of the few exceptions. On a more funny note, I think Evil-Lyn and Rita Repusla must have both had the same voice coach.
But Wait! You didn't mention "Ice Empress", another of the Guardian Goddess costumes, and an even more substantial (although still pretty tangential) link between those two dazzling deities and the Masters of The Universe canon...
Whilst I understand your point, I've seen the actual design evolution/process for Frosta, and I can assure you that Dale Hendrickson was only ever looking to the concepts springing fourth from the character design department - The connection between Soaring Eagle and the Sorceress is FAR more striking given that it's such a unique concept! :)
@@cerealgeekTV I wasn't referring to the LOOK of Frosta. I was alluding to the fact that she is literally Etheria's Ice Empress! :^) (P.S.: "springing forth")
@@JamesM-x3v - Thank goodness - I was thinking that was quite the stretch you were making! :)
Scary part is probably the moment when the director lets everyone take a break but tells you to see me at my office.
Oh……don’t worry Jason…….that annoying tin tw@t 7 Zark 7 will chime in and say something like ‘….You’ll be happy to know Mark found several crates of air-to-air missiles in Keyop’s bedroom….everyone is safe….”. Those who know, know.
