To Lose Weight: Be CONSISTENT, NOT PERFECT!
One of the most important things that helped me finally lose weight successfully and keep it off was letting go of the "all or nothing" mentality and focusing on being CONSISTENT, but NOT perfect. By assuring yourself that it's normal to not do things perfectly and allow yourself some wiggle room it can allow you to not be too hard on yourself and stay focused on consistency rather than give up.

    Great vid as always, brother! I have a topic suggestion - Plateaus. In the last 1.5 years, I've lost a little over 100lbs but have found myself firmly wedged at around 240lbs for the past six months. I finally broke out of it today, but only because I contracted a pretty severe flu and lost something around 6lbs overnight. Keep up the great work, John!

      Interesting suggestion! Any specific types of drinks you're interested in, such as alternative sodas, coffees, smoothies, shakes, teas, hydration drinks, etc? Personally I've switched from regular soda to zero sugar sodas. Obviously water is the best thing for everyone, but most of us also enjoy (and crave) tasty drinks. I personally drink sugar free sodas and coffee, as well as plenty of water. But you've given me an interesting topic to think about for future videos. Thanks!

    As you have said before, slow down when eating. When I started my weight loss I talked to the excersize group at my work and they gave me tips and my research found more. It is said about 3500 calories is a pound. Walking 10,000 steps is about 5 miles and losses about 400-500 calories. We need at least 2000 to 2500 calories a day to function. It's said it takes 21 days to create a habit. 3 days to break it. So they told me a lot is just doing it. Start small. Watch how much you eat. I can eat what I want but I make sure I don't eat too much. Your recipes are helping. My workout I just have a simple schedule, I may not lose all the weight at once but I stay consistent. I feel good and I agree with your words. Keep it up.

    • @TheCogIsShred
      @TheCogIsShred 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      For sure, if you're able to focus on staying consistent rather than achieving quick weight loss (easier said than done most of the time) you are more likely to stay on track and make progress in the long term. Staying consistent helps you to create habits. And it helps you make progress. When I started I would walk at a speed of about 2.5 mph on the treadmill to avoid getting myself too tired out. Now I can comfortably walk at 4 mph with no problem. I could have never done that when I started, but by staying consistent and making the changes to my eating and exercise routine a habit I made progress and over the course of a year I continued to be able to move faster as the weight came off and my strength/stamina increased, and I could do things I couldn't have before. It's definitely worth sticking with it, there are so many benefits! Same to you - keep it up! ^_^

    I recently made a more healthier cheesecake recipe I found to test it out, I actually plan on adding a protein powder to it in the future next time I make it, the protein powder is the frosted flakes one recently found in walmart. It tastes like the milk of frosted flakes, but also very close to the flavor of a cheese cake. I feel it could amplify the flavor a bit, while also being more protein! I might try this recipe, and replace the cream cheese with greek yogurt, and the sweetener could be the protein powder I previously mentioned! I bet it would taste super with assorted berries.

    To have a super flat surface on the top. Put it in the freezer without the lid. Use heavy cream without the gum, to get a nice, creamy smooth, mouth feel. Always re-spin at least 3x. The light icecream setting, seems to make it a lot smoother. So you need less re-spins. You can use the milkshake setting, to easily break up any large fruit or choc chunks

    A lot of Wendy's food is tasty but not good for you. The bread is actually loaded with sugar and that's one of the big reasons for the heavy calories. They come on a tray from the factory and can sit there for a couple weeks. It doesn't seem to mold. Just switching out the bread is a huge change. I don't personally eat big breakfast but my father in law does and this is another recipe I'm going to try for him. I'm not making the patty into a hypochondriac... hypochlorite... Hypoxic... So I will be trying this one as well. You say you walk in the videos but I was wondering if you do other workouts? • @TheCogIsShred
      @TheCogIsShred 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks! Yeah, fast food prices are getting crazy! I wish lean beef wasn't so expensive. I cook with ground chicken far more often for day-to-day meals because it's much cheaper, and it's also juicier. I'll be doing a video on crispy chicken patty sandwiches I make with ground chicken in the future. The main 3 things I've been doing lately have been aiming to take hour long walks 5 days per week, I lift dumbbells for about an hour twice a week (mainly chest and arms, occasionally back,) and aim to be in a calorie deficit most days - meaning eating fewer calories than I burn. On average I burn between 2,500 to 3,500 calories a day, and I aim to eat between 1,900 and 2,600 calories per day. Mindful eating helped me to lose the bulk of the weight, but I was still struggling to get leaner. I kept hearing that one of the best ways to get leaner was to start lifting weights and building muscle. You can eat more calories that way and burn more fat. Anyway, that's what I've been trying the past few months and it's been helping.

    I had the chance to make this today, a bit modified however. And my gosh was this delicious. I didn't have feta so I just used a small bit of pepper jack instead, as well as only one egg. Calculating the calories it only got to 275. Really good, and leaves room for a possible side dish.

    That is beautiful, the fact you get two sandwiches for the price of one (in terms of calories that is!) Those eggs folded beautifully!

    I totally love these videos. It's helpful and encouraging. The recipes look great and I'm not scared to try any of them. I usually skip breakfast I'm scared of the calories and carbs intake. 😅Thanks, keep posting. 👍🏽🎉

      I'm in a little more rural area now as well. I used to just walk outside and grab McDonald's... now I have to drive into town to get it. So it's easier to just make my own food at home. Plus it's nice being able to control what goes into my food. 😊

    I used to work at MCDs and making homemade is much better. The stuff they make it with is full of gunk. Sure it tastes good but it's not too good for you. I personally don't like the pancake portions of it but the meaty goodness I'll eat. My father in law has been eating too many of these so I'm definitely going to show him the video and try making these next time I visit.

      Thanks, I hope he likes them! I may mess around more with the recipe, but for something this low in calories I was very happy with the result and would gladly eat these regularly. 😁

    Healthy? All of that is artificial flavors! Artificial flavors are way worse for you than sugar that ain’t healthy. I’m not tying to tell you what to eat but here in the US are food ingredients are poison

      Helps with the texture, since he used a fatfree milk. Use a 2% and you can skip the yolk
