Wargamer Stories
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 21 เม.ย. 2023
I love the hobby of tabletop war games. Especially, battle reports that are linked together in a narrative campaign, in which each battle has an effect on the next. I create TH-cam content for those who also enjoy the battle reports of miniature tabletop wargames. My passion is to entertain and my goal is to motivate others to join our hobby that we all love.

BLKOUT: Episode 2 | Narrative Battle Report | UN vs Task Force Boone
This is the Second episode of our BLKOUT series. The UN Raid Force Alpha has lured a Task Force Boone patrol into a Decisive Ambush. This scenario is from the Impact Expansion but we changed the forces a tiny bit by adding in a bunch of dusters! This is a short battle report, but it was a lot of fun!
The players and I are brand new to the game system, but we're loving it!
The game is fast-pace, easy to learn, and has tremendous tactical depth.
We aren't professional players, just passionate about narrative wargames with fun & interesting rules. We make battle reports for the sheer joy of it. The channel is a project of passion. With that said, we might make mistakes from time-to-time. It's a human thing. But we try to get it right, so let us know if we got a rule wrong: so, we can both laugh about it and fix it.
BLKOUT is produced by Enemy Spotted Studios. If you want to find out more about them and/or BLKOUT, use this link:

Great video, kid with box launcher is awesome!
So in your campaign, units can retreat out of the battlefield at any time and then they are moved on the strategic map at no extra cost?
Yep, retreating on Archer-Sierra has no next turn strategic action cost - neither does it cost the players in warchest, political, or strategic points. For Blue Hole, losing a battle has more consequences that can tip the balance of the conflict over the long run. But for Archer-Sierra, we made the campaign system simpler to help introduce new players to the basic concepts.
Keep bringing in the BLKOUT content! Love it.
Melee dusters are terrifying. This was an awesome watch! Great work with the editing and effects!
Love getting some more BLKOUT on here. This is the first time I’ve seen the dusters throw down. 👨🍳👌
MORE!
Trying to decide to invest into BLKOUT or the new edition of Infinity. Your battle reports are definitely swaying me towards this game!
Best part about BLKout is its fast and simple. you can genuinely play a full match in 45 mins or an hour. As much as i love infinity, you can't say the same there lol
Fantastic work! Excited to see more BLKOUT!
The same to you! I enjoy your battle reports very much!
WHOOO! Always happy to see more blkout
These are getting better and better
I like the campaign so much and in general the game. HOWEVER I'm not 100% sure about the shooting phase. Everyone shoot at the same time so in my onest opinion is not very good. Like One Page Rules, the attacker/the one who won the initiative, should shoot first (with just one one lance tho) then the defender etc... so, one lance at the time. Why? Because the strategy will be much better and engaging instead to shoot everything at the same time coz in the end, who cares if you destroy my ultra hyper mech capable to destroy a planet? I can still shoot its weapons this turn. Other than that, the game is pretty cool and kinda easy, so, keep it up.
The player who goes second has an advantage because they can react to what their opponent just did. Some players move all of their mechs at once before ending their turn while others alternate moving mechs. It depends on the player group Each round is supposed to simulate ten seconds of combat. That is absolutely time for a final salvo of missiles to reach you, a broken reactor to run for a few more seconds, or the machinegun bullet at the ninth second being the blow that defeats the enemy. This is a detail more obvious in classic where you roll separately for every weapon you fire Battlemechs normally carry conventional weapons that at worse are capable of reducing a city to rubble. The sort of weapons that extinguish an entire planet *usually* aren't used in warfare but humans are stupid and classic does have rules for their use
That's BattleTech- these war machines can get at least one shot off before they kick the bucket. Since they can get at least one shot off, the initiative holder shoots last so they can have better "reactive" shooting and get to use their mech at least once. I think that was the intent of the author(s) of the rules. But, it's a game that's still fun to play. I am glad you're enjoying the campaign :) A player has shown interest in playing One Page Rules- Gang Wars before. So, who knows...
Epic!
Real queation is when Aerospace is going to be added to Alpha Strike
They sort of have it now. But, I think as battle field support assets is fun. Though, having aerospace duking it out for air-superiority is something the players and I have been discussing how we would conduct it- if the need arises.
My most anticipated videos on TH-cam! Keep up the great bat reps!
Thanks! Will do!
I'm on the side of anyone looking to ruin Duke Brewer's day. Go Chupacabras!
Always look forward to your battle reports. Can't get enough of them!
Discovered BLKOUT a couple days ago and have been looking for more content on it. This is by far one of the best in terms of production value and entertainment. Can’t wait to see more!
I'm glad you're enjoying the video. And welcome to BLKOUT! The new Impact expansion is really good! I really like the new forces and the dusters. The next BLKOUT battle report will have a few dusters in it and will release on 24 December.
I wonder if the Chupacabras could patch up that Mad Cat they took down. They probably don't have time, but it's quite the prize.
You're absolutely right! It's like finding a gold mine but then realizing you forgot to bring your pickaxe.
It's always a good day when I see a new upload about this campaign!!
Best production and video direction anywhere on the holonet
RIP Purple Fenris (3152-3152): he went out like a real G. Also, while I think the Top Hats are onto something with their fighting retreat strategy, they're taking as much damage as they're doing, and I'm not sure they have enough space to keep retreating. They're risking getting pushed past the spaceport they're trying to defend, and with the two others under Chupie control already, that'll be all she wrote.
I know, right!? One can only retreat so far on an asteroid...
See the Alliance player made a BIG mistake here. He got attached to Mercs. They are expendable resources and now they survive have to be paid for. If they all die, you don’t.
Love these reports. Love the campaign!
Great bat rep as always. Watching your campaign play makes me want to get one going of my own next year.
I hope you do! One of our goals was to inspire other players to play some campaigns!
I saw this pop up on my page and immediately clicked - this is such a good series and such a brilliant source of inspiration. Thank you to you and all your players.
Dude! This is the early Xmas gift I wanted! Lol
"Papa Popenski's Pain Posse"? Just saying that it has a nice ring... ;) Also, I have once again missed the Notable Noble assignment; I need to pay more attention to these ^^ *Love* these reports, well worth the wait every time
The Pain Posse! Nice! Right now there is a Knight and Notable Noble assignment to put together mercenary reinforcements for Blue Hole. Don't miss out to create your own lance or company with a crazy name to go into battle for Blue Hole's destiny.
@@WargamerStories I am happy to report that I have just done exactly that. I had to edit a lot, because I am functionally unable to post something like that without a small narrative, and I really got hung up in the BT timeline, but it should stand up to some scrutiny now... ;)
With Jefe's Chupacabra's at Silverfield, I wonder if the Ashenwind mechs will go for a backdoor strategy. Or shore up at the port. I doubt that the Sandysteel lances will push up.
Only one way to know for sure... Stay tuned to the next exciting episode of "Mercs on a Rock!" :)
Your commitment to the campaign, your story, your players AND then the filming and editing is spectacular. Please pass on a thank you to your gaming group, and to yourself, for everyones commitment to keeping this going. Hope you all enjoy playing it as much as we enjoy watching it!
Thanks! That's a nice comment! We are having fun! Even losing a war, in an odd way, can be fun! Glad you're enjoying the campaign!
Hezters going to hetz
I was going to post this, but I see you beat me to it
New video. Me happy
Another 10/10 video to listen to while working
My dude, dropping this at 1am my time right as I'm about to go to bed after me and my partner's joint birthday party? It really MUST be my birthday after all!
Happy Birthday!
An absolutely brutal fight. I'm catching up on this campaign and the whole package has been incredibly entertaining. Keep up the good work!
I'm glad you're enjoying the campaign!
this video got me and a couple of friends to try blkout. we had a blast and are looking forward to playing it again soon, thank you!
Speaking of having having a "blast," be advised: we made some errors on the blast rules in our game. But, yea, BLKOUT is a ton of fun. A lot of small tactical choices that have huge impacts. It's a fast-pace exciting game. I'm liking the front line dusters. Next BLKOUT report will have a few dusters
I haven't played Alpha Strike, but it seems to be pretty well streamlined for playing. Heat does not seem to be much of a thing?
Heat is a little less prevelant in Alpha Strike. Some weapons cause Heat to their target. Heat can still be self-inflicted, but only when a mech is trying to do more damage (but not all mechs have the ability). On the mech card, next to the heat scale is OV. The mech can overheat and add the OV value to their damage at the cost of hear. My players try to avoid at all cost, lol
Excellent way of doing campaign videos, a pleasure to watch. In 0:40 it seems that players don't know the opponents forces, how much of the strategic map they can see during the game?
The players can only see what is immediately beside their units. Or, they have an area revealed using orbital satellites. towards the end of the campaign, the players will start moving their satellites around to get a better idea what the enemy was up to.
I loved it. I especially appreciated the early operational movements, and the "AI" didn't do badly eithet!
Glad you liked it!
There is a whole campaign of episodes, please enjoy :)
Ok this campaign is cool.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Could we get more odf this campaign? I love this game!
he players had some things come up, and couldn't continue the campaign. But this is one of my personal favorite games, so I will play a few non-campaign games starting after all the coming holidays.
"Chupacabra player mutter something about not bringing infentry" Lil bro forgot his locust the best scout mech got raped to death because of infentry and then cause fuckton of damage to his medium tanks
Any reason why you didn't use the forced withdrawal rule when the one phoenix hawk had half its structure destroyed? In my opinion that should have been a casualty
The player had no where she could withdrawal; Emeraldstone is deep in enemy territory. The only escape was to the dropship that was already on the way to the battlefield.
@WargamerStories well when I talk about the forced withdrawal rule in alpha strike, I'm talking about when the pilot launches their escape pod abandoning the mech where it stands
No moee boring ahhh battle report
:) I agree, I think!
These videos are fun, thank you. My 12yo would like to know how you add the weapon effects to your battle reports please. Many thanks.
I use Da Vinci Resolve as my video editing software. The weapon effects are VFX files from ProductionCrate.com. Each VFX is a scaled video layer laid on top of the image/ video of the mechs that was taken during game day. Depending on what is happening, there is about 2-30 video layers working together. I then splice together sound effects timed with the VFX, which adds another 10-12 layers of MP3 or Wav files into the shot. Think of it like layering a cake- once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake! :)
Enjoyed the video. Saves against blast weapons aren’t based on a target’s armor. Roll one save per attacker’s successes.
thanks
Fantastic looking battle report. One small point is the UN sniper has an Anti-Material Rifle (like a .50 cal or something), not an antimatter rifle.
thanks
Protomechs when? :D
Battle Armor, maybe soon (one side has them in their army). Protomechs, maybe one day. If a player ever says they want to play as the Clan Hell's Horses, that is.
Simply the best alpha strike battle reports out there.
Love when the algorithm gives me a gem like this.
That's one lucky Archer! Also, when I heard "The Fenris stands still" I thought for sure that the infantry were going to spot him and get him lit up by the indirect fire lance. Surprised they went after the Hopper instead. Hoppers are easy to hit, then only throw up a TMM of 1, 2 if they jump. But a Fenris with a TMM of 0? That's a rare treat, you gotta smoke 'em if you got 'em. Oh well, maybe next time!
That's a good point about the Fenris. As a silent observer during the battles, I witness a lot of "Heat of the moment, tunnel vision". My guess: the Panther scared him, so he shot it. Didn't work out... just ask the infantry guys 🙂
@WargamerStories Rarely if ever does it work out for the infantry guys, no matter how you slice it. They aren't called PBI for nothing!
