- This is an intro to the Campaign Guide: Road to War Blue Hole, a BattleTech Alpha Strike campaign in the Tamar Rising setting.
The campaign guide helps organize the players strategic turns in order to bring about battles utilizing BattleTech Alpha Strike ruleset.
My players are battling for control of a lucrative world: Blue Hole. My players represent different factions/ armies under the greater umbrella of the Alyina Mercantile League and the Vesper Marches (Tamar Rising). Their decisions dictate this narrative campaign and which battles are fought in this Chaos Campaign.

Really like this. Didn't realize the campaign was this involved but makes me even more excited to see what comes next!
Thank your for clarifying things with this video! Early in your series, I cracked open my copy of the Tamar Rising sourcebook because I was pretty sure the campaign rules weren't nearly this detailed.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing. Really appreciated. Might use this this for myself. Man, I can't wait till this campaign continues. It's the most tense and entertaining I ever watched. Love u Guys, keep on going. I'll side with the chupacabras, hehe :)
Nice!!! I was waiting for this!!
I've watched this ongoing series at least five times. Good stuff. And now these rules are making better sense.
Stunning work. Incredible efforts and I wish you all the best with the campaign.
I've been falling in love with BattleTech for a few months now, but your channel has really put it over the edge. Very hopeful to emulate this style of play in the future
Buddy of mine wants to start up a campaign....after watching the videos im in. Great system you have here.
That is awesome! We're glad to see others starting up their own campaigns!
This is a tremendous system I really like it! Thank you for both the breakdown and the resources, I can't wait for more videos of the actual campaign too!
This is an incredible video, thank you for sharing all of this, I am going to review it more in depth and see what i can use from it. Great job! I am enjoying the battle reports!
Just watched all of phase one and awesome job. Been out a of battletech for years but trying to get I to it again and found these videos. Never played alpha strike but love large combat and your campaign rules look really good. Just finding people my area is really tough. Looking forward to phase 2. Definitely picked up another patreon with these videos.
Amazing guide and aolid ruleset, shows the effort and passion going into this series. You got a new sub.😊
Awesome, thank you!
So we’ll thought out. I for one would love to see a medieval campaign. Hell I’d learn a new system to play in it online if your current plays didn’t like the sound of it
This campaign is awesome. I have been trying to get some players together to try some kind of campaign rules. It’s hard to find players who like long campaigns. How did you find some players that were interested in it. Keep up a great work. I want to download your rules to see how I can incorporate them.
Got started with RPGs that evolved into wargames. I recommend starting with small campaigns. Maybe even smaller than our Blue Hole campaign. Another way is to make a co-op campaign. Have all the players on the same team vs. a randomly generated foe using the Catalyst Game Labs "BattleTech: Aces" to dictate the enemy's actions. That can help spark some interest to one day build into a larger campaign
dude, MOSSMOUSE? sounds like someone has had some formal training or education on military operations. haha. Would love to fight a campaign you put together. you obviously know something. I would invite you to consider using DIME as part of your victory calculations.
Now there's a thought :D
Quick question. You mention getting together on VTT to do things. Do you use it to show your strategic turns and for your players to do battle?
Nope, we do the battles in my game room. We use the VTT to host the map and move units around for the players to see.
So what's the plan for more videos?
One should be dropping today :)
Do you have rules for planet invasions that will turn into your campaign?
We don't have any specific rules for planet invasion. Except going from transport ship (assumed to be in high orbit) to the surface is done by dropships. For our campaign, aerodyne dropships can land anywhere carrying only one lance. And spherical dropships specifically land at starports but can carry a whole company (up to 3 lances). So, what is happening in the South Azure (Phase 2) is like a small scale invasion. However, if you are doing force entry into orbit with starships battling it out. There are some official rule supplements that you might want to have a look at: BattleTech Space Operations. Are you planning on invading a planet soon? :)
@WargamerStories I've played the video games for years, and I have just started to get into the tabletop world, unfortunately I live in Ass Crack nowhere KY. Other then my son, who is in the same boat as I am the nearest place to play is a little more than an hour away. Just trying to cover all my bases for when I try to corrupt family, friends and co-workers. 😈
