The only other channel that is equal in quality imo is 4 hands on deck but they don't do campaign but single battles and in a more educational manner for people new to classic battletech. But they also have special effects, their battles are quick and interesting and they teach the basics really well.
This campaign is incredible! As an avid Classic player, seeing action on this scale does show the strengths of AS. And the production values on these batreps is fantastic.
Mate, I've been "watching" these TH-cam battles of yours while I've been painting minis, but your incredible bat-reps have got the better of me, and now find myself glued to the screen watching with captivation and anticipation. I LOVE them. Keep them coming. And Thank You.
First off. Let me tell you this. This is the best series of Battle Reports & Campaigns I've ever watched. Seriously. Brilliant work. And this is outstanding praise from me, I don't blow smoke. Second. Have your players ever heard of the Peninsular Campaign? Napoleonic Campaign of 1807-1814, with good old Nosy (Arthur Wellesley) & centre stage of the Sharpe series. This ongoing campaign reminds me more and more of it. Minus who the British are & the French. Really looking forward to the next few episode. This strategic turn appears to be quite interesting. Also that blasted bugle. (insert Waterloo movie clip here)
I am familiar with the campaign in Spain of the Napoleonic Wars. I also seen clips of the Sharpe Series (with Sean Bean), but never the whole thing. Now, you got me curious- I've got to see it now :)
@@WargamerStories Yes, I second this man. Go watch Sharpe. It may be a bit on the older and more poor budget side compared to modern stuff but for the time that was consider high budget for the BBC. But I can tell ya now, beside getting a loving spirit for the Napoleonic wars era that’ll soon see you picking up a bunch of Frenchies and Brits from Perry Miniatures and likely starting playing some either Black Powder or Sharp Practice if you prefer more smaller narrative like games… You will also be saying the word “bastard” a lot for the next few weeks. Enjoy.
This is the most frustrating report yet! It marks the point where I've finally caught up in the series and now have to wait for new reports!! By far the best format for battletech AS reports on youtube and a fun campaign to follow. Thanks for all your hard work on these.
man. imagine being some random person in one of those nearby towns. you've had a hard day of work, you're ready to sit back and relax and watch your favorite show... and then... rolling brown outs. damn mechs....
LOL, I know right!? Imagine if the situation happened to House Korbyn--- What would the nobles of House Korbyn do if they couldn't watch their little old TV anymore?!
Sooooo EPIC! The dropship up/down strategy is an old tactic used by many generals to make their forces appear larger than they are (marching over a bridge multiple times for example), and harrassment is a no-brainer for a weaker, more mobile force. Loving seeing these strategies play out in Battletech.
for some reason I'm rooting for House Korbyn, they may not have too many good or heroic pilots yet, but i'm excited for the advancement of their units and tactical ideas
@@WargamerStories my son recently got into Alpha Strike (I taught him how to play the base version way back when he was like 8 or so) and he started to run an AS campaign with his friends. He picked up a Kell Hounds lance and that's when I caved so I can fight them. 🤣
Another fine battle report and update to this campaign. Also love seeing the increasing production and editing being added with each new video. Can’t wait to see the next video and the conflicts to come.
Fan freaking tastic as always. I’m glad both sides are giving each other solid bodyblows strategically, it would just be unfortunate if one side completely crushed the other like the league seemed poised to do to house korbyn early on.
Those valiant urban mechs…honestly they did pretty good overall. The trade of a warhammer to cripple the power supply is worth it as long term ramifications can pay off. Joined the patreon as I’ve enjoyed each battle report in the campaign and can’t wait for the next part.
A really great battle report - lots going on, and the quality just keeps improving every time. Lots of neat stuff involving objectives, tactical movement, and all the rest. Really engaging, I love it! I look forward to these a lot, and they're always worth that wait. Just one criticism -- seriously, the Jenner standing still in the woods for 3 turns? Somebody slap that pilot, he should be doing a little shuffle around in those woods, enough to get a TMM. Good grief! Also, that poor red Warhammer, he never had a chance once the bugle sounded :(
LOL! Loved that bungle call when those mecha came on. The only thing I can complain about all this, is I wish these videos could come out faster. Hope the next one will be out soon!
Thank you, I love this campaign and your play throughs. I feel sad for the Chupacabra player, the dice dont always deliver .... but taking out a Warhammer for an urbanmech isnt a bad trade.
The raid succeeded, but not without cost. Honestly I wonder what would have happened if the 7th Light Cavalry had opened up on the dropship's engines instead.
*spoilers* A Warhammer for an Urbie, not a great trade. Unless the power outages make enough of a strategic difference? Anyway, nice war of attrition you're supposedly avoiding House Korbyn :p
Because this is a brushfire war on Blue Hole which is a backwater colonial planet without much resources. But soon we will have a campaign that features new mechs and vehicles.
@@WargamerStories You could ask the players to design custom vehicles in megamek. Whatever they come up with will likely be more interesting then the official tanks
This is a great fantastic absolutely amazing series! I love the political maneuvering and your retelling of the campaign with a story focus (Ps it wouldve been absolutely insane if boxcars resulted in storming a dropship) I would love to run something like this myself with my friends, do you have any tips?
Campaigns are a lot of fun! This is not our first one (our first campaign was a fantasy medieval game). So, my tip is to start small. Maybe only a 2 companies per player, battling for a small region or a city. Also, it really helps players to be team vs team.
I use Davinci Resolve for video editing and keyframe animation. The visual effects are picked up from a few places, but mainly productioncrate.com. I hope you check it out and pick up video editing as a hobby- it's loads of fun once you get the hang of it!
I loved the battle report, but I hope the tts voiceover isn't going to be a permanent part of the series. It feels like the video lost a lot of it's soul without the old voiceover.
The first and greatest Alpha Strike campaign found on youtube.
These guys have set the bar!

That urbanmech-80 "I didn't here no bell."
I have been eagerly awaiting the continuation of this campaign! Thank you!
Those brave urban mechs, medals for them.all I say.
And again, the seventh light cav. prove that they are indeed the main characters of this story.
Well, they are the favorites of the Chupacabra player- that's for sure.

I was SO hoping there would be another episode soon and I was not disappointed today. Great battle and great scenario!
Keep up the great work. Love following this campaign.
Out freaking standing battle report! I was already on the edge about returning back to BattleTech but this is actually pushing me over, LOL.
Welcome back :) BattleTech has loads of ways to play the game, so I am sure you'll find the rules that'll work for you!

Could you ask the players why they continue to use wheeled scouts? Even with its low cost it doesn't seem like a very good unit

Pour one out for the Red Warhammer.🍺
As a former cavalryman in real life, I didn't mind the bugle at all. :D
I've got to respect the Stetson and spurs! (-_-)7
Where do u get the dropship?
I bought it off a vendor on ETSY. There are lots of vendors there with many options for terrain. Check it out!
appalled at the sheer amount of casual urbie slander!!!!
It's tough love. No disrespect to the noble trashcan- erh, Urbie- erh, Urban Mech
I wish she got to storm the DropShip lol
What editing program you use?
I use DaVinci Resolve for the video editing.
@WargamerStories thank you. Love your story so far. I look forward to it every time it shows up
What year are you running?
ilClan era. 3152-3153. The campaign is not canon, but based on Tamar Rising setting
I need a volunteer for a cunning and dangerous mission...I need an Urban mech.
