I am close to finishing your Star Trek TNG series and I miss it already. And even though I haven`t seen Buffy or your reviews on it, I need to ask you here: Will you do DS9 after Buffy? Pretty please?

Troi was not flushed out by writers, since Marina Sirtis kept her options open with work outside TNG during production. At one point, Sirtis was certain she was leaving the show. That said, fans enjoyed her in TNG, and she finally set herself to stay in remaining seasons. BTW Lwaxana Troi was played by real life widow of Gene Roddenberry, which why she dropped in from time to time.

Pulaski covers for Worf by making him look like an idiot. The virus isn't that embarrassing, most people won't know it's a childhood ailment and he wasn't raised around Klingons so it's understandable that he doesn't have immunity to it. Instead she says he's too dumb to understand what hunger is and made himself too weak to do his job properly over some idiotic ritual. That should get him sent to HR for a stern talking to about not being fit for duty. Couldn't she say it's a different virus? Klingon Flu instead of Klingon Measles?

I'm sorry but every criticism of this episode in this review is incredibly baffling. 4:05 the takeaway isn’t meant to simply be that she's hounding him to much, she uses the word "Sabeteur" despite not havinf evidence of Tarses' guilt already showing prejudice toward Tarses. That is an oversimplification and you're really missing the point of that moment 4:46 really??? He isn’t allowed to have confidence in the judgement of the professionally trained crew that have proven themselves to havr value expertise countless times? Particularly when these things they get wrong don't happen on a regular basis and do so because of an outside source, something which Picard would have no reason to suspect is happening right now? That's like suspending your best pilot in an airline because of the turbulance months ago caused by a rare food poisoning 5:02 that wasn't the main reason. In fact it's implied to be a misleading resson. She was really allowing the public to have access as a means to flush out any other conspirers comparing them to shining light on roaches while they scamper away. Did you forget that she said that? 5:12 why? We understand her internal logic of Xenophobia and trying to maintain thd respect gained by her father. How exactly is that not enough for that to be a valid question? 5:28 no, she doesn't understand the significance because tenforward is a public place for people to have fun and relax, why would they go discuss something like a conspiracy in such an open spot like that? 6:27 no it doesn’t. Not to keep investigating Tarses. The most Sati has on him is Romulan heritage something he has no control over. It's a witch hunt at this point 7:06 Jidan wasn't hinted to have any help inside the enterprise and already told them everything he knew. We can infer that all investigations take place offscreen concluding that no one assisted hin with it 7:18 how is it artificial? It makes perfect sense given their characterizations to be split on this. Picard relies on hard evidence and Sati relies extreme paranoia and prejudice, a very sensible divide. What exactly is fake about it? 7:40 for starters Sati claims to already be investigating it. Another thing is that everytime the prime directive was violated he wasn't a willing participant in that violation. And given the good work he's provided for the fedaration, incidents out of his control wouldn't be enough to tank his carreer 8:37 why? He didn't need to say his reasons for leaving, in fact it was a pretty cut and dry explanation. So leaving without saying anything isn’t stupid, in fact it's a great way of showing how paper thin Sati's case is when slightly scrutinized, that you don't even have to say anything to demonstrate the flaws in it 9:30 the phrase waiting game implies that nothing of substance happened. When we got great development for Worf, and insights from Picard along with Tarses being a likable golden retriever esque character that you want to end up okay. How is that a waiting game? 9:37-9:47 bruh. Henry walking out was the climax. Were you hoping for some big tirade from Henry about the bigotry of these trials and how they will stop taking away the subtlety of why that was so powerful? I'm sorry you're really just missing the point of that moment 9:50 this is more of a subjective complaint. But the point of Sati wasn't that she was complex. It's that she was a wolf in sheeps clothing, coasting off of the reputation of her well respected father to inact this witch hunt. 9:51 he said he didn't want to act on mere intuition from a betazoid, meaning that he wasn't sure if Tarses did lie. He didn't just choose not to investigate knowing Tarses lied that's an innacurate read of that scene 10:05 firstly other investigations can be inferred to have taken place and they don't need to be shown as to help the episodes pacing. Secondly they're really honing in on Tarses more than anyone else because of his Romulan heritage 10:35 how they go about these things are not that of "Scooby Doo villains." They're using their status to go on a witchhunt driven by paranoia and fear mongering rather than just straight up malice. I've already explained why the claim about Picard and Sati's development being inorganic is untrue. Sorry these are just flawed criticisms that oversimplify the episode and completely miss the point by saying they just made them one dimentional antagonists when their intention with it wasn't to have a layered antagonist, but to show how even the worst person can hide that part about themselves if the public just knows the good things they've accomplished.

This is at least a B episode but I would have given it a B+...especially in considering the lower quality of most of season 7..and of course the science it going to be alot more questionable considering it was made the early 90s by writers with probably a only marginal understanding of science! :p

I happened upon this video review, and remember when it debuted I was on a camping trip with some family, and it was a fun trip but one if my cousins was bitching about how he was missing this episodes debut. I was like, "dude we're camping, get over it. But a couple years later when I saw it, I was wowed. It was such an engrossing and personal story, and allowed Picard to evolve that much further as a character, and I was so happy that they referenced this episode in later episodes like "Lessons", where he falls in love with Nella Daren. Even that epsiode furthered the story of Picard. I really want to watch the series Picard, but I dont have Paramount+. 😢

I assume when the plague was in full swing, the Brekkians were forced to produce as much of the cure as possible to combat the planetary plague. The Onnarians were the ones with advanced technology and industry including space travel, so they were in the superior bargaining position when this whole thing started. So both cultures at one time or another exploited one another. And here they are at the end where both of them are facing collapse with very little recourse.
