Minor correction, Silicon is in the oil tested, not silicone, Silicon is a metal (Si) on the periodic table, same thing microchips are made of. Silicon is pronounced with an "ON" sound and silicone is like "OWN" sound on the end. Which makes me now wonder if they have ways or tests that actually test for silicone particulates and other gasket materials? I've never seen them on oil tests, i guess those are soft and wouldn't really damage the engine. But then again their description at the top is clearly talking about silicone.....maybe it is a typo on their part. But are they testing for the metal or the synthetic material. Maybe whoever wrote the top part was thinking silicone but they only test for silicon.
The first oil change should be at 500 to 1,000 miles. This is common knowledge. The oil filter on my 23 trd had plenty of break-in metal and silicone. After the next oil change, apon inspection oil filte was free of debris. Toyota is stupid for recommending the first change to be at 10,000 miles.
Thanks for this information.
Very informative video , thanks 👍🏻
How do I get automatic tail gate ?
My truck has the “premium package” which includes the automatic tailgate.
Where did you purshased this grill?
The link to the grille is in the description
@ thanks I saw them just after posting this comment, do you know is if they ship to Mexico
@@Elamno777I think so
You should have done your first one at 500mi
So the fix for the miles till refill is to clear data in the Toyota driving app on the screen. The mileage is averaging by the entire fuel mpg history. So say your off reading, and going slow with many stops, your going to have less MPG then you reset economy via drivers screen go on a trip get 20MPG and then go fill up and it updates based on the history. This shouldn't be a thing in any vehicle. It should always read based on weight of tank or fuel tank sensor how many miles. So say for example 1 gallon weighs 8.34 pounds, the software should calculate the difference. But that's what's going on just clear data all time every time you refuel always clear data! Or at least clear data after off-roading trips or times when your just working on the truck (Sitting on in driveway or at place for a bunch of time many times per day). Like for example leaving the truck on while your inside Walmart lol!
Thank you for giving the answer up front. Immediate thumbs up for that.
@ 1:20 You said Micro SD card @ 1:56 You said Mini SD card Are you saying the Garmin Mini 2 needs an adapter? Very confusing! I realize this video is two years old and You won't respond.
@@FloridaCoastalGuy it’s a micro SD Card. I have links in the description to what I used.
@@MuscleAmerican I saw the Micro SD card in the video, however, when you inserted the card into the camera, I couldn't tell if an adapter was used or not when you said Mini instead of Micro. Great video though
I have a 24 Tundra TrdPro and never knew it did this as well! I guess I better look at all those buttons!
Toyota is all marketing and popularity. So pay up sucker. Nissan is just OK not giving a F. At the end of the line is the same sh!t different toilet 💩🚽
You can secretly film you together with your boyfriend
I got 25 mpg at 65 and 70 mph.
Are the transmissions serviceable on these trucks? Wondering how much DIY can be done on them too!
#verygayraptor lights 😂
I was hoping for a 11th item! Anew crated V6 engine. I'll pass on that 24 Taco.
@@firedriver8367 Loved my 3rd Gen but this new engine is way better.
@MuscleAmerican Not for $50K plus with a 4 Cylinder engine turbo time will tell or 100,000 miles.
@@firedriver8367 My take on it is turbos are nothing new and Toyota is using this platform in the Tacoma, 4Runner, and Landcruiser. I bet they did their homework. And if the reliability isn’t there I’ll be the first one to say it. I remember when the 3rd Gen came out and all the 2nd gen owners were mad they got rid of the 4.0. It will take a little time for people to adopt this new platform.
@MuscleAmerican i have a 2nd Gen. With a V6 and i Appsolutly love it. It's a 2014 4 door with 87,000 miles and have had no problems. My 2nd is 2009 Highlander with a V6 also it's our daily driver it has almost 300,000 miles and everything it still works Other than trimming belts and batteries it's by far the best V6 Toyota has made. Good luck i hope you have great luck with yours i i like the body style on the 2024.
@@firedriver8367 yeah the reliability on those are solid. Hope they last you a long time! Thanks for watching
While it would be somewhat harder to cut from underneath the vehicle working up, they would also be working on a fixed pipe. Not like here where the pipe isn't attached to anything and is vibrating around. These thieves seem to make cuts in areas which unfortunately destroys a majority of the exhaust system in addition to stealing the cat. I think they do this because they make the cuts where the piping is most supported so it doesn't vibrate.
I just bought this dash cam, I love it but the Garmin Drive App is not as reliable as it should be. When the app is connecting to wifi, it doesn’t always connect and the connection is spotty. It’s very difficult to view saved videos, the wifi connection keeps getting disconnected.
I'd like to get the tailgate inserts as soon as they come in other colors for my 3rd generation SR-5 4WD.
I think they have a few different colors available
@MuscleAmerican Oops, I ment 4th gen. I only seen matt black using the link in your description. Hoping to get chrome to match the other badges.
Were you got that grill it looks great ??
The links are in the video description.
I have the 2024 trailhunter. I’m getting 16.8 on the hwy. 1800 miles so far all hwy. sticker says 22/24. That’s bull. No mods done.
Give it some time to break in. Are you above sea level?
I drove it from Asheville, North Carolina to Nashville to Philadelphia and now back to Asheville so it’s been sea level and up in elevation
@@Mykechambers hmm, my non hybrid get 20mpg and I’m 4,300 ft above sea level.
Curious, have you tried towing without the WDH?
@@brianaustin1328 with this 4th gen I’ve towed it around maybe 20 miles with out the WDH. It squats about 1” more and there is noticeable sway in the trailer. I did tow a considerable amount with my 3rd Gen without the WDH and I can tell you it makes a difference. Is there something specific you’re looking to do?
@@MuscleAmerican Nothing specific. Thanks the the response.
Did you have any problems connecting to app mine is always asking to connect to tocoma and Wifi. I think car play is giving me problems
2024 tocoma
@@angelomilano3167 yeah you gotta turn off your connection in the truck to your phone so you can connect to the camera.
Do you turn off car play on your phone ?
Or do you do it at the radio
@@angelomilano3167 I do it in the radio and disconnect CarPlay
I left the original screen cover on lol
@@BobbyP5 is it still holding up?!
@MuscleAmerican it sure is, but the glare on it is bad. Looking at what you have.
Thanks for the vids. Can you tell us how long it took to replace the grill? I got a quote from a shop saying that it would take them 5 hours. Is this true? It didn't seem that complicated from your video.
@@DougAllen-r4r do you have the prewired aux switches? If you do then it should only take 3-4 hours. If not, 5 sounds about right.
Great video I was looking for a dash cam literally for my Tacoma but the dongar10 pin is currently available on Amazon and so far website is there anything u would recommend instead
You could try the OEM one. They have them on sale.
My favorite feature is the removable Bluetooth speaker in the dash
@@bradhand292 yeah it really does come in handy
Looks good ima get me some
Do it. They are still holding up great!
Nice 🔥👍
What's that shit cost? After market is better
I'm glad I purchased a new 2023 V6 3.5 Tacoma TRD instead of the 2024 model. It pulls my travel trailer very well.
I hear ya. The older trucks are still great!
Hey my Prius has a 11.4 gallon fuel tank, get over it.
I wonder when your automatic transmission will explode!
Have you experienced the “fast blink” issue some people mention seeing when switching from halogen to led turn signals?
@@heiser_bill no not that I’ve noticed. Maybe it’s a certain brand?
@@MuscleAmerican yeah I’m just not sure which brand it was. I saw a comment somewhere that the fast blink happened if the blinkers were on for a while (like maybe at a long stop light).
@@heiser_bill I’ll have to try and see
Thank you for this video. I had no idea how to change the battery in my 2021 Toyota Tacoma key fob.
Glad it helped!
I bought the Toyota Tacoma 2024 no leather seats, but I luv it .wish I would have gotten the sun roof & the buttons on the sides for the lift. I have a compartment on the side of the drivers side when u open the door lower side of the dashboard . It’s cute lol
Great video! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks again for the great write-up and answering my question. I ordered this today along with the cameraa bracket. I was thinking of tieing the Amber lights to the headlights or possibly fog lights. Any reason not to? I was unsure about the amber lights at first, but they are growing on me. Not sure I want them on all the time and likely would forget about them if I had them on a switch.
@@kenromer1 I thought about wiring the amber lights to the headlights as well. But from what research I did, it sounds like the fuses are under the glove box and not inside the engine bay. So it would be challenging to wire it up. Your next best option would be to wired up to the ignition fuse like I showed in the video. I wanted the option to turn them off, so that’s why I use the aux switch.
@@MuscleAmerican Thanks for the reply. I see now that the aux switches only have power when the truck is on. I was concerned about them staying on. I should have dug deeper, I was afraid they would stay on and deplete the battery. My bad, but I learned something :)
Do you need the Race Camera bracket?
Not very hidden....
Black but without red seats
🤤
I turn it off but i want it to stay off unless i turn it on - i turn it off but when i restart my car its on again
The typeface doesn't look right on the front. It might look close, but it screams replica compared to the OEM. It's close enough most people won't know. But one glance at the OEM and then at the ripoff, and you'll easily spot the difference.
Where did you get the console piece
@@chopshopvehicleextrication amzn.to/4hbLz82
Can it turn of collision control permanently ?
You can turn off the pre collision in settings, or did you want something more?
Wish I saw this before I towed last spring. Your explanations of the cluster setup and brake controller were very informative. I have a '24 TRD Sport and really liking it. My MPG around town with typical city driving has been averaging 14-15 MPG.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Have you had any opportunity to compare it toe the quality of the OEM Pro grill? I really like the mod and appreciate your videos. Hard to tell quality from the video. Any comment on that?
I have not seen the OEM grilles in person but the OEM trd pro grille is gloss black so that would be different. The OEM trailer hunter is matte black like the grille in the video. I can’t imagine there being a big difference in quality. It’s plastic and I have a hard time paying a premium for it.
I absolutely love that grill. I do have a question. I would like to have my raptor lights connect to my headlights or park lights. As I'm sure you know there is little out there on the 2024 Tacomas and I cannot find what fuse to connect them too. Do you happen to know or have any suggestions on how to find the right fuse. My 2016 had them listed on the lid but this one doesn't. Thank you and keep those 24 videos coming.
So from what research I did the headlight fuses are actually inside the truck on the passenger side. (I didn’t verify that) so it would be really hard to wire them up that way. Another option would be to wire them up to the ignition fuse. I did show that in the video.
@@MuscleAmericanok. Thank you. That is what I will do then. I do appreciate your help and your videos.
Looks good, what's next?🤔
@@gilbert8667 probably a lift, wheels, and tires!
