H0e Narrow Gauge Wagons from Roco - Making Them Look Like Danish Sugar Beets Wagons
Throughout the years sugar beets have been a very important commodity for the railways in Denmark, That goes for both the State Railways (DSB), local private railway companies, as well as narrow gauge lines run directly by the sugar factories. The models are from Roco and are not exact reproductions of Danish beets wagons, however maybe they are close enough. Please visit my blog for more details www.sundborg.Wordpress.com

Creating a model scene - Coffee Tasting
มุมมอง 282หลายเดือนก่อน
Coffee is an integrated part of daily life for most Danes and it was like that in the mid-1950s as well, the era I am modelling. At that time coffee, however, was relatively expensive and most Danes would use surrogats to stretch the coffee beans a little further. One of the leading surrogat companies was "Rich's" and one of their VW-vans has pulled up at the city square together with similar v...
DSB Class PFB-PFR from Dekas - Peat Wagons - Unboxing and Weathering
มุมมอง 5742 หลายเดือนก่อน
During both world wars, Denmark had to rely heavily on domestic energy sources such as lignite (a.k.a. “brown coal”) and peat. When war broke out in Europe in 1939 the Danish railways, both the State Railways (DSB) and local lines, were immediately mobilised as the backbone of an intricate distribution system transporting lignite and peat from the countryside to the cities. A great number of op...

Only four designated cheese transport cars were ever in service with the Danish State Railways (DSB). The cars were based on the IV series of closed freight cars and so the class was known as IVO - ‘O’ for “Ost” = cheese. From the outside the cars were almost indistinguishable from the rest of the class and only a hint of fittings on the sides of the cars gave away the shelfs mounted on the ins...

DSB Class CM (VII) from Dekas - Unboxing, Passengers, Weathering
มุมมอง 6314 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the nomenclature of the Danish State Railways (DSB) class CM described a passenger car with side aisle, wooden body (sometimes covered with metal plates) and at least 64 seats. This was obviously a pretty broad description so the class covered a very mixed batch of coaches in very various designs built from 1897 into the 1930s. Complicating things even further a number of rebuild coaches wer...
Water Tower from Heljan - Building and improving

    Hello there, Thank you for sharing your video. So now i have learned this car is for cheese transport, and most of the other white danish cars are for meat transport. • @SundborgModelRailway
      @SundborgModelRailway 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a great question. Yes, there were white DSB cars specialised for milk transport. They were easily recognisable with the word "MÆLKEVOGN" (milk car) written in larger blue letters on the side. There were only 25 class IVM in DSB´s inventory and the were manly used to transport raw milk from the country side to dairies in Copenhagen. They were phased out in the early 1950s and converted into normal white cars. Unfortunately, no exact models exists of these cars, but you can find pictures of the prototypes here: www.jernbanen.dk/dsb_gvognfotos.php?Aar=1941&litra=IVM&typenr=

Here in the 1950s, which is the era I am modeling, the factory designation was Type 2 as it followed - and was initially derived from - Volkswagen's first model, the Type 1 (Beetle). Later, the T1, T2, T3 etc. was added to differentiate the different generations. In that context you are right: it’s a T1. But it is also a Type 2 🚐

    I have that model sitting on a shelf in my workshop. Put it together 30 years ago.

    I have this kit but the one I got was cheap plastic and it was a fail :(

      @SundborgModelRailway 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Okay, I didn't see anything wrong with the quality of the kit, but of course it is not the same as a 10 times more expensive moving model from a well-known brand.

    I wondered why there was no audio--because you're Danish and English is not you primary language. I went to your web page and everything was in Danish and I couldn't read any of it. I wanted more details on the lumber shed you built. So I kinda copied what I saw you do; I just don't know if my dimensions were correct. I've got the two hand cars from Tichy Train Group and will have to get the little building to go with them. I haven't built them yet; they're still in the package under my workbench. Cheers from eastern TN

      Yes, Danish is my mother tongue and I have so far chosen not to speak or indeed show my face on the channel. I am however, considering if adding voiceover to my videos would make them more interesting to watch. What do you think? And good luck with the Tichy Train hand cars - they were a fun build.

    Nice board & batten idea. I'm gonna have to give that a try. I always learn something by watching other modelers. Looks like you need to stain the interior wood work if it's gonna be that visible. Oh, I see you marked the boards with a pencil instead of painting the interior. Great idea. I was wondering how tall you made the structure so I guess 12 scale feet tall & seeing you marking off the interior, you made it 4 1/2 cm to include the top rail. I guessed right. I'll have to guess the length and the width looks to be about two sections. Just don't know how high the top of the roof is but I'll just guess looking at the pitch you used. Looks to be about 2 cm taller than front and back walls. The tractor and forklift work well into the scene. I've got an old Diamond T flatbed truck I'll incorporate into the scene as well. I've been wanting to scratch build a lumber warehouse. Cheers from eastern TN

      Thank you, glad you liked this rather simpel build. A Diamond T truck sounds like an awfully big truck - at least it would be for my small Danish sawmill, but perhaps you are modelling an American sawmill? Then things cannot get big enough :-D

    hi, beautiful work 😅 i about to restore a faller sawmill from 1959 ;) , i cannot find characters for this , do you know where i can find out ? (i in France so 😜) .

      Sounds like a nice restoration project. I like classic model buildings and I think I can guess the Faller-kit you are talking about. Regarding figures I have used stereotypical Preiser "workers" with a supplement of kitbashed lumberyard crew: th-cam.com/video/ylO0Ys4HX_M/w-d-xo.html
