The figures are from German manufacturer Preiser. These particular ones are from a paint-them-yourself-set, but I’m sure you can get them ready painted as well.
Yes, skin first was also how I used paint figures. However, after watching how wargamers and role-players paint their very highly detailed figured I have changed the order of things and I find it easier to paint faces and hands later.
