MB Unimog 411 - Unboxing and Weathering

Unimog stands for "UNIversal-MOtor-Gerät", Gerät being the German word for equipment, device or machine. Somewhere in between a tractor and a truck the first Unimog was designed shortly after World War II mainly to be used in agriculture. Daimler-Benz took over manufacturing in 1951 and the three-pointed Mercedes-Benz star was added to the vehicle in 1953. Unimogs have always been real niche vehicles and that was also the case in Denmark in the 1950s. This particular Unimog has found employment at my sawmill pulling the timber trailer from Busch, but you could also see them on duty with fire departments and later in the army. Unimogs even working for the Danish state railways DSB, but unfortunately not in my era in the mid-1950s. This particular model is from German manufacturer Brekina but other companies such af Wiking and Schuco offer Unimogs as well.
