This was a banger episode! I'm kinda glad you struggled a bit in the shrine, it just shows that you are indeed human like the rest of us :p Seeing you coming up with different strategies and almost going insane several times was a lot of fun! I internally screamed when you decided to use the torch AND attack the guards. How could you?! xD But glad you didn't kill the NPC Unfortunately I had Vendric spoiled for me before I played DS2 but your reaction made up for it a bit. Your excitement is super infectious!

I too like Dark Souls 2 more then Dark Souls 1, but godamnit man Dark Souls 1 has such beautiful game design. i wish miyazaki had more influence in some of the game design Dark Souls 2 expanse with DS1 map design would blow every other game out of the water... There is just something about Dark Souls 2 that makes me keep returning to it such a masterpiece Something to look forward to is that every Dark Souls 2 DLC has signature miyazaki world design. Best of both worlds.

i like ds2 more than ds1 or ds3 and im really happy you like it, so many secrets and things to find, it took me more than 10 years to know almost everything and watching people play it help me a lot

you can use the giant key as a weapon but you loose it when you go to ng+

Im so glad this area gave you trouble...because I've been playing alongside you. And I just got to this area a few days ago as well, and it kicked my ass. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Not to mention, I somehow missed that bonfire over and over, and I had to do the full runback every time. Wasn't until I had almost completed the area that I went back and found it and facepalmed so hard

As more of a gameplay guy and not one of the world’s great lore-appreciators, this goes some way to help me understand why people like this game and why it goes over my head. I don’t remember the description of that ring, but I do still have nightmares about Shrine of Amana 😅. Best episode of the series yet! A lot of drama and laughs. The image of the mighty king Vendrick reduced to a husk walking around in circles in a crypt is a powerful one.

My suggestion for summoning is to fight the boss solo first, then ascetic him to challenge with summon so that you can still enjoy the solo experience while still having a good challenge with summons.

Pay attention to how the camera works in the battle with Velstadt. The camera is one of the main issues in this game series, and only in DS2 was it done correctly.
