You're doing great, and thank YOU for your content 🤗 here in Argentina we usually say "Dale que la rompés", which is similar to "Don't give up, you can do whatever you want!" 😎
I am so lucky I get to share it with you guys as well, getting kudos for stuff I did well and smacked across the head for silly mistakes is so cool 😂 plus I would’ve never had that moment at the end without all you guys’ input, beyond special 🙏
@Wuggernaut honestly did way better than I did my first go around. You're doing so well without knowing any lore or anything about the game. So really you're doing fantastic
_have an imaginary friend named Yulia _tell you to go off a cliff _sell magic powder _doesn't look fresh at all _possess a katana that undead merchant is a certified gamer
The subtitles you gave Domhnall had me rolling, haha. Also congrats on making it out of the basilisk nest without getting cursed on your first try. Nice work.
You have no idea how well you handled those basilisks (frogs) in the Depths! They will straight up Miyazaki your character. Those crystalised statues are online players who were not as careful...
I also have to say that most of us are probably down for longform content. I'm happy to watch every second of a 4 hour playthrough if you're up for it 😊
Thank you dude! It was total fear taking over 😅 and that’s awesome to hear, I don’t think I’ll be able to pump out 3ish hour ones everytime but it’s good to know if I wanna stretch out the play session you guys are down 😄
Curiosities: The basilisk's eyes (the ones that blow death smoke) are not the big two balls at the top of their heads but right below it. The black crystals that you see where the basilisks are, are other players that died by the basilisk's smoke of dead.
Poise is a stat that prevents you from staggering. Each hit you get reduces it. If it reaches 0, you can be staggered, fall, or get thrown by an attack. If you don't take hits, it fully recoveres in 5 seconds, no matter how much you have. It comes only from your armor(you can see how much by changing display mode). And the wolf ring gives you 40.
I have been absolutely loving the videos, It is so refreshing to see someone play the game like I did with no wikis or the internet. It is awesome to see how badly you want the episode to go somewhere and I am happy you persisted. You are killing it, keep it up.
LOL definitely beat my most outros in a video record 🤣 and tysm dude, I’m glad I did it too and got to end on such a full circle W :) I’m also really glad you’re liking the vids!
The bludgeoning type of damage you were looking for vs the skellies is called strike, and you're right it is effective against them. There are two ways to deal with their resurrecting and three ways to deal with ghosties. Light sources are difficult to come by but they do exist.
Don’t forget us dudettes! I’m a 73 (almost 74) year old grandma who plays all the Soulsborne games and love to watch other players. I just found your channel and am enjoying your play through.
Since you made it to the depths, I shall bestow upon thee the ancient strategy for the older souls games. I dub it, “The Nike strat”. This is when you strap on your running shoes and run past all the enemies in your path. This will help maintain your sanity for the harder boss runs later in the game,
I'm always hunting for long-form content to watch while I workout so these long videos are great for me! This episode truly had the entire DS experience... anger, frustration, being completely lost, finally finding the right way, and ultimately that sweet, sweet victory! No other game/franchise does that arch so well. As much "bad luck" as you've had missing bonfires and going the wrong way, you got VERY lucky with those Basilisks! When the game was first released so many players got cursed by them (HP permanently halved) that the devs had to patch in a message telling gamers how to break the curse with an NPC or Purging Stone (the undead merchant in the sewers sells them). You can totally make it through the entire game with a fully upgraded Uchi. There are better weapons, but they're much harder to get and usually harder to upgrade. Blighttown next, and all I'll say is if you thought you hated gravity before... ;)
Man that’s so funny to hear that fromsoft had to bend to the players 😅 they probably didn’t want to patch that in so badly 🤣 also I looove the uchigatana and I’m starting to get pretty comfortable with it’s move set so I’m glad it’s a good weapon!
i love your editing style!!! and i have absolutely no problem that this was almost 3 hours long i watched it all trough the end. it wasnt three hours of raw gameplay anyway you‘re editing it perfectly. i would definitely watch more 3h videos especially if you only drop once a week. this might be one of the best dark souls blind playthroughs on youtube, love you bro amazing content :)
Thank you dude!! Saying that seriously puts a huge smile on my face I can’t fathom that I could be someone’s favourite 🥲 I’ll keep trying to make the best content I can and I won’t hesitate to make the videos longer if the play session takes me there 🤩
It's so much fun to see someone play DS1 blind, and i really like your editing style. I have loved the soulsborne games for years and it's great to see someone enjoy them for the very first time. Good luck in Blighttown sweet summer child.
Thank you so much for saying so, I’m hitting a point where I really enjoy editing these videos so I’m really happy to hear you like it :) and I’m so excited yet so terrified at the same time 🤣
Love it man, appreciate you showing the challenges and feeling of success that a person has when first trying one of these games without following a guide from start to finish. Looking forward to watching you continue, making me want to start my first blind playthrough of Elden Ring :D
Great job man! You're killing it so far. To answer your question, I personally prefer long videos. Seeing a new lets play video I'm following that's two or more hours is always a welcome sight. Also, that gaping dragon cinematic reaction was priceless.
Your editing is on point man! Great job, you definitely deserve the boom of viewers and subs you've gotten since starting this series! I personally don't mind the longer episodes!
Its fun to see someone play this area for the first time. Its so interconnected, but also hard to navigate. Falling down to the basilisk is just bad luck. Not finding the shortcut and bonfire before later is classic. Solaire is awesome :D And every sunbro have the lightning spear miracle. You could too if you joined.
Ive been watching several other bigger creators do playthroughs and souls athons. Youre probably my favorite personality to watch, keep it up cant wait for the next one! Love the longer form
Dude this comment made me so happy. I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know that 🙏 I don’t know everything I’m doing right to have this big of a community full of helpful, awesome people so I’m just gonna keep doing this 😅 I will definitely keep it up, I love making these videos 😄
Oh and you cannot get backstabs while your shield is raised (just as you can't interact with items or your bloodstain with a raised shield). Also don't worry about not making progress on bosses or bonfires, you figuring stuff out is what we Souls veterans are watching for!
The editing is top tier, I watch a lot of lets plays and your editing style is such a nice watch. Even the small details like the face camera zooms, all wonderful. 👍🏼
Dude I have to wait at the airport for 3 hours. I didn’t know what to do. Now I know what to do. BLESSING!!! (Btw I have already seen the previous episodes, you’re a legend keep going!!)
That is actually so awesome 🤩! I was debating whether or not to drop this video early, in this comment confirmed I made the right call 🤘also tysm and I will!
Dude the jolly co-op with sunbro😭!!!panicking during kirk invasion but defeating him😭mad respect!!! You’re making us relieve our first playtrough thank YOU so much! (I as well killed the hydra before gargoyles🥲❤)
Theres only a few occasions where theres a "right weapon" even then its not mandatory. The best weapon is usually the one you have reinforced the most and goes best with your stats and play style. Also, I just made it to the end of the episode. Enjoy this moment mate you only get one true playthrough of this game. It really is special. I think that's why your videos are resonating so much because we've all walked in your shoes.
Ahhh I’ll keep this in mind, I think I’m overthinking it lol, and dude thank you! I’m really lucky I chose this series to play through cause it’s so easy to enjoy
@Wuggernaut it's a unique game. It will drive you fucking crazy but it will make you feel things you've never felt in a game. One other tip. When you think you've found everything in an area. Check again! These games are notorious for having areas players miss on their first playthrough.
This is great. Reminds me of my first playtrough but i died to the frog fellas. Trust me you dont want to get killed by them. The "poison" is much much worse than just death. TH-cam recomended me a hidden gem.
Watched these first 4 parts in the last couple days. Really enjoying it! High quality content! And I enjoy the long format and the division into chapters and the editing and such. Plus just you as a person and your fresh sense of exploration on a game I know so well is so entertaining. Looking forward to the next episode!
I really appreciate that!! I’m so glad you like the chapters and editing, it makes the extra editing time so worth it 🤩 I hope you continue to enjoy them :)
For anybody who is interested in DS1 lore, I recommend EpicNameBro's "From the Dark" you tube series. It is old now, but still very relevant. However, it is a 100% walkthrough, so don't watch unless you want spoilers. Excellent series from an expert DS player.
Bruh, I felt your pain by the end of this. You are really gonna need to slow down and be aware of your surroundings because when you get to The Tomb of Giants you are gonna lose your shit. Lol Good luck and Praise The Sun!!!
Really enjoying the blind playthrough. (Also watching your demons souls list as well). I'd recommend being careful while reading comments. People will absolutely spoil the shit out of anything and everything
Just a little tip for next time, you might wanna see everything a merchant has to offer before you decide to kill them. Atleast the hollow merchant still gives you the residence key on death.
Another thing, if you press the Select button (or whatever you want to call it lol) in the equipment menu you can see an explanation of things like stats and whatnot. I'm sure someone can clarify but if you look at the bottom when you have a menu open, it'll tell you what buttons to press to do certain actions
I wish you didn't get spoiled on the chest gimmick thing - one of the best moments during these first time playthroughs is watching the surprise players have encountering that. A shame.
Dude, never apologize for long-form content. Your videos are amazing and I appreciate your humor and approach to these games. I hope you're doing well!
Just a little tip for a bit in the future: Before thou art going to interact with a ring of light, seeketh a path above the firelink shrine. You can also do it later, but it would be inconvenient.
Running through the catacombs screaming for a bonfire, misses the one right in front of him 😅with all the chaos and panic I can understand. loving the videos!
For real there was a bonfire right there lol. Also idk if he noticed that those skeletons revived or not and you can tell for sure because the soul count doesn't rise when they were defeated. Can't wait though when he actually has to go through the area. It definitely can be tough especially the first time playing going through the catacombs without a divine weapon (even though you can kill the necromancer)
Well that was quite a journey - but what comes through is the joy of these games, not the struggle on its own but overcoming challenges. The satisfaction felt by scaling the proverbial unscalable wall is the kick, the thing that makes Soulsborne special. Great job!
Remember that prison cell in the Undead Parish you visited last episode? That gold-armored NPC at Firelink was the person that was in that cell. He must have got moved because you beat the Gargoyles before you interacted with him
Also a big tip for DS1, a lot of the bosses (especially those that have some relation to the dragons) have secret weapons that you can get by cutting off their tails, so when possible, try going for the tail of a boss to see if it is one of the ones with a weapon!
A 3-hour video? You're spoiling us, mate. And good work taking down two bosses in one; I still remember Gaping being the first boss to make me struggle. Best of luck in Blighttown; Lord knows you'll need it. It has some real nice goodies around, if you can stomach reaching them.
Why is this guy so wholesome ❤ subscribe!! Happy to see someone using the NPC summons. True story got this game on Steam when I was watching your 2nd episode to try it out, not gonna lie kinda lost lol gonna have to re-watch your past vids to see where can I go lol just got to the forest area with the man eating plants and the stone knights.......they kicked my ass 😂
congrats on beating the Gaping Dragon! what a great moment. whenever you get to a new bonfire, check your held humanity. (upper left hand corner) if you have 1 or 2 you should just go ahead and use it to kindle and you can save some consumables. you had two at the sewer bonfire 2:25:30 and I'm yelling KINDLE! 😆 also if you enter a boss arena by mistake, you can use a Homeward Bone to escape, just keep in mind it makes you vulnerable for a sec. love these videos & can't wait for Blighttown!
~I could have swore you beat the Capra Demon last video. Maybe because you got so close. 11:15, been there many a time. Not that spot necessarily(though I’m sure it happened), but just through all the games in general. ~Ah, your after-battle shakes after defeating the Capra Demon, that’s what every boss in Bloodborne feels like. I know it’s too early to talk about Bloodborne, but no game before or since has made me feel the wat it has. ~Oh noooo! That merchant had so much more to sell! D: There were like three other tabs to look through. There’s a box you can put stuff into that you’re not going to use to clear up your inventory. Thankfully there’s another vendor that sells it, hopefully you don’t kill him, too. X3 ~A small thing of note that I notice you (and a lot of people, actually) do, is that after you kill something you run past it too fast and miss items they drop. ~You haven’t met him yet (in this video, anyway), but Big Hat Logan lives up to his name. X3 ~Skeletons are usually weak to blunt/strike weapons. (Says me, who only uses slash/pierce lol.) The skeletons with the white eyes are a little different. There is a way to take them down permanently, but since you’re not exploring there right now, I’ll see if you figure it out. :) ~There is a merchant that sells the transient curse in the underbridge/aqueduct, but they’re heckin’ expensive. Another merchant within New Londo sells them for a lot cheaper, but he’s way at the end of the area. :/ If it makes you feel any better, getting through that fog door at 1:17:00 wouldn’t have helped. Well, maybe a little, as there’s a ladder to kick down for a shortcut, but you’d probably have been in too much of a panic to notice. XD ~Haha, that face when running from one giant and see the next one getting up. ~As you were running to the Darkroot bonfire, I wondered if you had killed the black knight, and just after I thought that, you said you were going to fight him, lol. He can drop his weapon (and it’s awesome), but it’s a rare drop. ~This is definitely not the kind of game to play when tired. X3 ~“It would just be two hours of L’s on L’s.” No worries, man, it’s part of the experience. ~Those frog-like critters are called basilisks and they do way worse than poison, but I won’t spoil it unless you want. It’s also hard to reverse so try your best not to get afflicted. ~Don’t forget about the Homeward Bone! It will teleport you back the last bonfire used at any time. Great for when you have loads of souls but no healing-or to get souls out of a boss room. ~You might want to get in the habit of spending your souls more often. You lost so many. T.T ~Sorry if there’s repeat information. I didn’t mind looking through the comments on the Demon’s Souls videos, but there’s too many here. X3
Hahah no no worries! I love the long comments they’re like getting a lore rich item 🤩 plus even if there are repeats, with my brain it’s good to read it more than once 🤣 a lot of this is new info though so thank you, I really appreciate the amount of time you take to comment on all these videos, it motivates me to keep making this style of content and makes it so worth it :) plus getting reprimanded for my mistakes is both hilarious and educational 🤣
My friend, it is good to see how you are making your way in the game, I could write you many tips but I see that the community is already taking care of that, so I'll only dedicate myself to enjoying your trip 😊 keep it up, you're doing very well, Blightown is horrible so be prepared 😂 Greetings🎉
23:13 Lordran is the land of the Gods,as said in the tutorial. People that we meet here are excited to be in such a "sainted" place. They come from different lands( Astora,Carim,Berenike,Catarina and so on) Coins are still used there, but here, their only worth is to sell(or rather ,be eaten, hint hint) 37:12 Yulia is the Uchigatana,it was held behind the tub. The guy had much more stuff in the other pages, you just have to toggle the menu. 1:51:00 For me it is good. 2:27:30 True, proper. "A real one"
Been looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint! So glad you're playing Dark Souls blind, besides the YT comments. Trying to figure out the game and where to go and watching the game slowly reveal itself to you is one of my best gaming experiences ever. Can't wait for the next one!
Really like your video. It is fun to see how you tackle this game. I been playing a couple of times. If you watch this video again you can see the boonfire at 1:48:12 but in the mist of chaos in the catacombs it is not always easy to be calm. Knep up the good work.
Also, remapping the ‘jump’ button to L3 will save you so much heartache, the amount of running and rolling you do if high, and jumping can lead you to an early grave
The Capra Demon victory is a perfect example of a peak Souls moment haha. Nice job dude! You got what it takes to get through every game and I’m here for each upload
This is shaping up to become one of my favorite "first dark souls playthrough" series on youtube, and ive seen A LOT lol Love your attitude, good editing, and the mistakes and missteps are relatable but relatively unique and entertaining... although i wish you would look around a bit more, especially into and around corners... maybe this episode tought you its importance though ;) Btw poise determines how hard it is to stagger you. Wouldve been really helpful against capra to have some, but you proved you didnt need it!
Been making my way thru your demon souls playthrough while I was waiting for this. Great channel. Don't skip dark souls 2 I'm sure there will be people saying too but it's really not that bad lol it's the first one I ever beat myself
Dude, thank you so much seriously 🙏 I get a bit down sometimes that I can’t get more videos out with my current schedule and editing efficiency but I’m really glad you enjoy them enough to wait🙏 and def start a NG+!
Thank you for an awesome playthrough! DS 1 was my first souls game and I can relate to all the emotions that comes with the game. Have to say you do really well in the situations thrown at you, with such good instincts! Someone said; "If you make it through Blighttown you're a souls player for life". For me that was so true! I'm now making my way through the souls genre, having the time of my life 😄
That’s awesome dude! I hope you enjoy, we’ll get through this 🤣 and I appreciate that, sometimes ai feel like I’m making stupid mistakes but that’s how we learn I guess 😅
You can reinforce weapons to +5, you can do that at a bonfire if you have the weapon smithbox. But after +5, a blacksmith is required to ascend (modify) the weapon to +6 but you need to give him the large ember first. After it's been ascended to +6, you can go back to reinforcing (using different upgrade materials) until you reach +10.
Loving the series! Watching you persist through Capra was awesome. Small tip: locking on limits your movement heavily - you can only roll in 4 directions. You dont always have to stay locked on to the enemy! Swingly freely is valuable at times. Keep it up - and don't you dare go hollow.
@@Wuggernaut You've gotta try out Outer Wilds and DLC if you're interested in exploration and puzzles bro. No combat but wow super chill, truly a once in a lifetime gaming experience.
Excellent playthrough so far! Your frustration here is definitely understandable. I've completed this 50+ times and still have a shitty time with New Londo and the depths. Good thing we got the delightful Blighttown coming up. Just be sure to bring plenty of blooming purple moss clumps.
You killed that merchant before looking at all his inventory. I usually like to pick up the Heater Shield at least before killing him. Heater Shield is one of the lightest 100% damage block shields in the game. Dude also had a bunch of weapons as well.
@@Wuggernaut The key is also for sale. Why must we Undead murder everything in our path? Are we bad? Hmmm.....its the only way to obtain the Uchigatana though. Choices.....choices all around and we dont even know we are making them.
@@Wuggernaut For now just forge ahead good Sir. The questions are for later and the answers are possibly unobtainable. But thats ok, because your videos are freaking awesome man! Thank You! Small tip, just in case you haven't recieved it yet. You can not backstab while blocking. Took me an unthinkable amount of time to figure that one out. 😅
Loving this playthrough! It is so great to see it through fresh eyes. It really takes me back. The dancing dude is buffing any other enemies around him when he dances. It may be too late by the time you read this, but there is an item that could help you avoid some frustration while traversing blighttown. You'll have to find a way to talk to the giant bird at firelink to find it though.
It’s funny how intimidating the Gaping Dragon is in terms of health and appearance, but one you learn his attack pattern you see it’s actually not a difficult boss. Just can’t let him stomp on you 😂
Just finished up, kudos on getting back on track and getting the Gaping Dragon in 2 tries! He's immune to bleed, which is why it probably felt like your Uchi wasn't doing much damage. He can be a challenge to katana/dex players whose weapons rely on bleed, so well done. I know Dark Souls can be a pain when you're not sure where to go next (and you coincidentally tried Catacombs and New Londo Ruins, two areas you definitely shouldn't do this early in the game if you enjoy your sanity lol), so seeing you discover that Depths door near the Capra Demon was a relief. The next two areas in the game (Blighttown and the one after it) are two of the most memorable ones for new players, can't wait to see you experience them! Also, the next time you go back to Darkroot Garden, be sure to really investigate the brick ruins to the left of the locked Crest door.
Ayyye thank you dude! It was rough at first being so lost but omg it was so worth that moment I realize I had found the right way. Also I’m excited for what lies ahead! Thanks for the darkroot tip too 👀👀
@@Wuggernaut Oh one more thing! I'm not sure if you noticed in the item description/details, but the Uchi has very low durability. I think it has like 80 durability, compared to something like the Halberd which has 200. When a weapon's durability reaches 30% of its max, it loses a large chunk of attack power until it gets repaired. So make sure to periodically repair the uchi at the bonfire so it doesn't get too low!
@quethpinkle ooo thanks for the tip! I ended up using repair powder next episode but if I build this habit instead it’ll let me save those for emergencies 🙏
Bro you make me wanna play this game again, gonna finish Sekiro first, but man glad you are having a great first experience this run, its been insanely fun and entertaining to watch, and I think you are taking a great thorough approach to it as you should, cant wait for the next one! Also don`t forget to get some purple moss hehe
Nice to see you are back :) If you are using a weapon but dont have the str for it you can use it properly only when you twohand it. If you use a shild in one hand the weapons damage becomes very low. Only use shilds if you have the stats for the weapon.
I'll drop you a hint. Holy weapons are massively effective against the skeletons. But youll have to figure out how to make it. Best of luck dude. Working on my own playthtough rn too.
Seeing you pop off after finally defeating a boss for the first time is so great. That’s exactly the kind of stuff I wanna see when watching a blind playthrough!
I was watching another TH-camr doing a “blind” playthrough and he was beating every boss first try. It’s not as much fun to watch when the player had already looked up strategies and best weapons. Keep doing what you’re doing!
100% I will! I can’t speak on that guy but it is so fun tackling each boss not knowing what the hell I’m getting myself into and editing the struggle for you guys 🤣
I applaud your patience and perseverance bro. I was also completely lost after the bell church and had no idea where to go and ended up looking it up and spoiling it for myself.
3 hours is crazy bro, the amount of content you're giving us is absolutely insane! I just started watching this vid and I'm ready. Btw, you're almost there. Blighttown is waiting for you.
Dude tysm, but in all seriousness it’s no bother at all, I love making this content and seeing your guys’ reaction to it! Also I’ve heard so many ominous things… I’m so excited 🤣
@@Wuggernautyo i just got to the new Londo part and i will say theres a firekeeper soul for upgrading estus, and you dont have to fight any ghosts. All you have to do is go across the bridges at the start, then turn right down a hallway of sorts, look down so you dont fall, and at the end of the hallway there will be the soul
@ETH_ATL oooh I need to remember this! I might have to do this in ep 6 or the end of 30 5. I have no context but so many people are hyped for blightown, I gotta hit that right away 😂
@@Wuggernaut yeah, for right now +1 is fine and i understand, i want to see blighttown too cause that place man... i'll give you a tip, in blighttown, have your shield up at all times and take it very slow, its dark there so enemies can surprise you, hence the shield, and they typically come in groups if you run through, hence taking it slow. Good luck man, you'll probably need it
2:09:53 How Interesting the skull icon that popped up when the frog spit at you look the same as the curse resistance stat on your armor,I wonder what this could mean? Curse and Transient curse huh,Maybe it’s just me but they sound awfully similar… And the description of Transient curse say what again? They come from the cutted hand of the curse victims? I wonder what would happen if that curse gauge become filled,Maybe a free transient curse? Who knows?
That's the first time I see someone fighting the Gaping Dragon with the mage shooting from the balcony. I didn't even think it was possible to make that boss harder 🤣 13 years later, seen tons of playthroughs and still learn new things about this game. Great content; keep it goin my friend.
Nice video! Gj with defeating 2 bosses! You missed a hidden wall somewhere in the forest, and there's also a boss further in. But you can do that later, definitely looking forward to blight town lmao. Also stamina recharges slower when blocking with a shield, if you didn't know.
GUYS! I couldn't wait to get this one to you, so I'm dropping it early LOL. Also, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 1000 SUBS! You're all SunBro's in my eyes.
\[T]/
I’ll take all the early releases you wanna give! Can’t get enough of the souls series playthroughs!

Dude I love your content and your style of gaming. Personally, I like the three hours videos so this was such a treat. Can’t wait for blighttown!
Thank you dude! And I’m glad it wasn’t too long I was kinda nervous about it 😅 here we go!

One hundred percent.
Curiosities: The basilisk's eyes (the ones that blow death smoke) are not the big two balls at the top of their heads but right below it. The black crystals that you see where the basilisks are, are other players that died by the basilisk's smoke of dead.
Oh damn!! And the fact that those aren’t their actual eyes is so freaking funny 🤣

LOL definitely beat my most outros in a video record 🤣 and tysm dude, I’m glad I did it too and got to end on such a full circle W :) I’m also really glad you’re liking the vids!
Your hesitation is getting you killed. Swing foo! Its so fun watching you play through this though! :D
Hahaha you’re right!! I’m too in my head sometimes 😅 and ayyyee I’m so glad you like it!
@@Wuggernaut No shade on you i promise! This game and these videos you're doing are super entertaining and fun to watch! Keep going!
Nah nah I took it as fun pointers from a buddy watching on the couch 🙏 and tysm dude I will 🤘
He will learn "hesitation is defeat" when he gets to Sekiro :)
@thrxshx 👀👀
Also don’t forget the big armored guy at the bottom of the watchtower near the hydra. Cool reward
Ahh yes! Thanks for the reminder :)
The bludgeoning type of damage you were looking for vs the skellies is called strike, and you're right it is effective against them. There are two ways to deal with their resurrecting and three ways to deal with ghosties.
Light sources are difficult to come by but they do exist.
This is an awesome spoiler-free response while still giving a nudge in the right direction, I really appreciate your careful wording dude 🙏
Don’t forget us dudettes! I’m a 73 (almost 74) year old grandma who plays all the Soulsborne games and love to watch other players. I just found your channel and am enjoying your play through.
That is so awesome!! That is definitely rare to see, how did you get into video games?? Also I’m really glad you’re enjoying it!
Since you made it to the depths, I shall bestow upon thee the ancient strategy for the older souls games. I dub it, “The Nike strat”.
This is when you strap on your running shoes and run past all the enemies in your path. This will help maintain your sanity for the harder boss runs later in the game,
Hahaha I love the name and I will keep this strat deep within my heart 😂
@@Wuggernaut This is true but you need to be careful doing it as it may backfire on you.
That strat is really great after you get those two rings
@Tony_409 👀👀
Yeah it works even most of the time with the bs amount of enemies and difficulty in the next ds game
Do it man!! It’s corny but true, all it takes is that first step :) also I’m so glad you like it man 🙏🙏🙏
Great job man! You're killing it so far. To answer your question, I personally prefer long videos. Seeing a new lets play video I'm following that's two or more hours is always a welcome sight. Also, that gaping dragon cinematic reaction was priceless.
Good to know dude 🙏🙏 and I was genuinely horrified and disgusted 🤣🤣
Your editing is on point man! Great job, you definitely deserve the boom of viewers and subs you've gotten since starting this series! I personally don't mind the longer episodes!
Tysm man! It’s been a journey figuring out the editing style I wanna use and being able to execute it so it means a lot 🥲 and good to know!
Oh damn! 👀 and yeah it’s overwhelming when you start but once I connected it all in my head it was pretty awesome :)
16:07 dude had to rethink his life 😂
LOL at least the last 16 minutes of it 🤣
Oh and you cannot get backstabs while your shield is raised (just as you can't interact with items or your bloodstain with a raised shield).
Also don't worry about not making progress on bosses or bonfires, you figuring stuff out is what we Souls veterans are watching for!
Thank you for this. My perfectionism makes me wanna end on a big event each time 🤦♂️ but I appreciate the grace 🤝
Absolutely loving the playthrough! And dont worey abiut video length, were gonna watch it all regardless! Good shit bud
Thank you dude! And that’s relieving, that way I can just make the video as long as it organically turns out being 🙏🙏
The editing is top tier, I watch a lot of lets plays and your editing style is such a nice watch. Even the small details like the face camera zooms, all wonderful. 👍🏼
Thank you so much! Seriously I’ve been trying to find my groove with editing for a while now so this means a lot :)
Ayeee nice! Hydra bros 🤘
The Capra Demon is soooo frustrating when you have to deal with him yourself, but so much fun to watch when others get their spirit broken :D
LOL I can understand where you’re coming from 😂
Theres only a few occasions where theres a "right weapon" even then its not mandatory.
Dude thank you!! And yes now that I’ve heard of this curse thing I’m glad I ran around like a maniac 😅
SUN BRO SOLAIRE SUPREMACY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need to join the sunbro covanant to get the cool ass miracle lightening spear lol
YESSIR!! And 👀👀👀👀
For anybody who is interested in DS1 lore, I recommend EpicNameBro's "From the Dark" you tube series. It is old now, but still very relevant. However, it is a 100% walkthrough, so don't watch unless you want spoilers. Excellent series from an expert DS player.
I actually clapped when you killed Capra, that was smooth af.
Hell yeah dude thank you!
Bruh, I felt your pain by the end of this. You are really gonna need to slow down and be aware of your surroundings because when you get to The Tomb of Giants you are gonna lose your shit. Lol
Good luck and Praise The Sun!!!
100% I agree, each episode I chill out a little more so hopefully by that time I will be aware and stoic 😅
Really enjoying the blind playthrough. (Also watching your demons souls list as well). I'd recommend being careful while reading comments. People will absolutely spoil the shit out of anything and everything
I definitely have been, I try to look at like every 5th word of each first just to make sure it doesn’t seem spoilery 🫣🤣 I hope you enjoy !
Been waiting for the next video to be posted, love the play through 👊🏻🙌🏼
I hope you enjoy it dude!
Just a little tip for next time, you might wanna see everything a merchant has to offer before you decide to kill them.
Atleast the hollow merchant still gives you the residence key on death.
True 😩 I noticed while I was editing that I forgot to try the different tabs before killing him, I was so upset 🤦♂️
Well done man, I remember suffering so much with Gaping Dragon my first time. Your reaction to beating him is priceless. See you in Blighttown..😈
I appreciate you man, and yessir 🫡
Let's go new vid!
I'v been waiting for this
Appreciate you dude! Enjoy this roller coaster 😅
Another thing, if you press the Select button (or whatever you want to call it lol) in the equipment menu you can see an explanation of things like stats and whatnot. I'm sure someone can clarify but if you look at the bottom when you have a menu open, it'll tell you what buttons to press to do certain actions
What a journey. I wish I could experience this game for the first time again. Watching you go through it has been a joy.
Dude tysm! I think this game only took 9 or 10 hours of playtime to become my favourite game.
I wish you didn't get spoiled on the chest gimmick thing - one of the best moments during these first time playthroughs is watching the surprise players have encountering that. A shame.
Ahhh shoot I hear ya :/ that does suck now that I know the context for the viewers 😔
@@Wuggernaut just stop checking them and it will still be a surprise where it is...will be funny.
@TheWagn156 🫡💯
👀👀👀 a ring of light eh… I’ll keep this in mind🙏🤘
Running through the catacombs screaming for a bonfire, misses the one right in front of him 😅with all the chaos and panic I can understand. loving the videos!
For real there was a bonfire right there lol. Also idk if he noticed that those skeletons revived or not and you can tell for sure because the soul count doesn't rise when they were defeated. Can't wait though when he actually has to go through the area. It definitely can be tough especially the first time playing going through the catacombs without a divine weapon (even though you can kill the necromancer)
Man I’m so dissapointed I didn’t see it 🤦♂️ that’s what I get for trying to just rush through everything 🤣 but I appreciate your understanding dude
Everybody give it up for the Big D Logan rollin’ up in the house!!!
WHAT WHAAAAT 🙌
Well that was quite a journey - but what comes through is the joy of these games, not the struggle on its own but overcoming challenges. The satisfaction felt by scaling the proverbial unscalable wall is the kick, the thing that makes Soulsborne special. Great job!
I couldn’t have put it better, this is exactly it! And ty!!
Remember that prison cell in the Undead Parish you visited last episode? That gold-armored NPC at Firelink was the person that was in that cell. He must have got moved because you beat the Gargoyles before you interacted with him
Ahh that makes sense, Ty dude 🙏
His questline will be pretty interesting
I felt that death to the ghosts
Frustrating AF
Keep the great videos and don't you dare go hollow!
Right!? And thank you dude I will! I will keep up the videos, NOT go hollow 🤣
Chimera I’m glad to see you here again dude!! And ty! I’m so excited for recording the next ep tonight with everyone’s warning of Blightown 🤣
Hahah thank you dude 😅 and nice!! Have you ring a big bell yet??
@@Wuggernaut I did with the help of the sun dude, it was a crazy fight
Ahhh okay, I think the Capra demon is your next challenge 👀
Hello! just wanna say that I just start watching and its already fun hahaha! Hope you Kindle as much bonfires as you can, it's very helpful!
Ayyyee welcome dude!! I hope you enjoy 😀
congrats on beating the Gaping Dragon! what a great moment.
whenever you get to a new bonfire, check your held humanity. (upper left hand corner) if you have 1 or 2 you should just go ahead and use it to kindle and you can save some consumables. you had two at the sewer bonfire 2:25:30 and I'm yelling KINDLE! 😆
also if you enter a boss arena by mistake, you can use a Homeward Bone to escape, just keep in mind it makes you vulnerable for a sec.
love these videos & can't wait for Blighttown!
Ohhhh that makes so much sense 🤦♂️ I’ll try my best to remember to keep an eye on that humanity number, I hardly notice it tbh 🤣
~A small thing of note that I notice you (and a lot of people, actually) do, is that after you kill something you run past it too fast and miss items they drop.
~You haven’t met him yet (in this video, anyway), but Big Hat Logan lives up to his name. X3
~Skeletons are usually weak to blunt/strike weapons. (Says me, who only uses slash/pierce lol.) The skeletons with the white eyes are a little different. There is a way to take them down permanently, but since you’re not exploring there right now, I’ll see if you figure it out. :)
~There is a merchant that sells the transient curse in the underbridge/aqueduct, but they’re heckin’ expensive. XD
~Haha, that face when running from one giant and see the next one getting up.
~As you were running to the Darkroot bonfire, I wondered if you had killed the black knight, and just after I thought that, you said you were going to fight him, lol. He can drop his weapon (and it’s awesome), but it’s a rare drop.
~This is definitely not the kind of game to play when tired. X3
~“It would just be two hours of L’s on L’s.” No worries, man, it’s part of the experience.
~Sorry if there’s repeat information.
My friend, it is good to see how you are making your way in the game, I could write you many tips but I see that the community is already taking care of that, so I'll only dedicate myself to enjoying your trip 😊 keep it up, you're doing very well,
Blightown is horrible so be prepared 😂
Greetings🎉
Hey thank you for saying that dude, it’s a rough journey sometimes but either way we’re gonna make it happen 😅 and here we go 🫠
23:13 Lordran is the land of the Gods,as said in the tutorial. People that we meet here are excited to be in such a "sainted" place. They come from different lands( Astora,Carim,Berenike,Catarina and so on)
Coins are still used there, but here, their only worth is to sell(or rather ,be eaten, hint hint)
37:12 Yulia is the Uchigatana,it was held behind the tub.
The guy had much more stuff in the other pages, you just have to toggle the menu.
1:51:00 For me it is good.
2:27:30 True, proper. "A real one"
Ohhhhh my god now I understand, I was thinking “are we going to all these places?!” LOL thank you for this context!
Been looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint! So glad you're playing Dark Souls blind, besides the YT comments. Trying to figure out the game and where to go and watching the game slowly reveal itself to you is one of my best gaming experiences ever. Can't wait for the next one!
I totally agree! And playing a game where you know each road block or stressful situation will 100% be worth it if you keep at it is so refreshing 🙌
Really like your video.
It is fun to see how you tackle this game.
I been playing a couple of times.
If you watch this video again you can see the boonfire at 1:48:12 but in the mist of chaos in the catacombs it is not always easy to be calm.
Knep up the good work.
I’m glad you like it so far :) yeah I see what you’re talking about now, just couldn’t in my frenzy 🤣 I will!
Also, remapping the ‘jump’ button to L3 will save you so much heartache, the amount of running and rolling you do if high, and jumping can lead you to an early grave
True! I totally forgot to do this I think you had mentioned it before 🤦♂️ my bad I’mma write it down lol
The Capra Demon victory is a perfect example of a peak Souls moment haha. Nice job dude! You got what it takes to get through every game and I’m here for each upload
Thank you man! That’s actually really reassuring I appreciate that :)
Epic episode. Poor cristal merchant guy, dude has the ability to stay so still that he is invisible to your eyes lol
LOL, dude when I was editing I couldn’t fathom how I didn’t see him 😂🤦♂️
This is shaping up to become one of my favorite "first dark souls playthrough" series on youtube, and ive seen A LOT lol
Love your attitude, good editing, and the mistakes and missteps are relatable but relatively unique and entertaining... although i wish you would look around a bit more, especially into and around corners... maybe this episode tought you its importance though ;)
Btw poise determines how hard it is to stagger you. Wouldve been really helpful against capra to have some, but you proved you didnt need it!
Dude tysm!! That really means a lot, and YES I definitely need to look around more 😅 each episode this becomes more and more clear 🤣
Knight Kirk is an npc invader. He won't invade again in this place, but he'll unlike other npc invaders will appear more.
Ooo that’s exciting!
only appear when you're human! including PVP invaders
Been making my way thru your demon souls playthrough while I was waiting for this. Great channel. Don't skip dark souls 2 I'm sure there will be people saying too but it's really not that bad lol it's the first one I ever beat myself
Ayyee I hope you like it dude! And there’s absolutely NO WAY I’m skipping Dark Souls 2. I gotta experience all the games :)
The wait for these videos is always worth it! Even though I just played through this game recently, now I'm thinking I should go through NG+ :D
I love this series. Can't wait to see you finish this amazing game!
Tysm dude! I’m getting close 😩
Ahhh okay this makes it way more clear, thank you 🙏
Loving the series! Watching you persist through Capra was awesome.
Small tip: locking on limits your movement heavily - you can only roll in 4 directions. You dont always have to stay locked on to the enemy! Swingly freely is valuable at times.
Keep it up - and don't you dare go hollow.
@@F8isRIPPIN that’s awesome dude I’m glad you’re enjoying! Also thank you for the tip, and never 🫡
The sad thing is that you can only experience this game once. Nice job.
True 😔 but the fact that I get to with you guys puts me in such a lucky position 🤘
@@Wuggernaut You've gotta try out Outer Wilds and DLC if you're interested in exploration and puzzles bro. No combat but wow super chill, truly a once in a lifetime gaming experience.
I’ve got a lot of playtime ahead of me with the souls marathon but I’ll keep this in mind 👀👀
@@Wuggernaut you will love dark souls 2
@@BobboBeats-dj6nh it’s I’ve heard bad things in the “mainstream conversation” but a lot of you guys said you really liked DS2!
Excellent playthrough so far! Your frustration here is definitely understandable. I've completed this 50+ times and still have a shitty time with New Londo and the depths. Good thing we got the delightful Blighttown coming up. Just be sure to bring plenty of blooming purple moss clumps.
Ayee thank you dude, and absolutely 🫡
You killed that merchant before looking at all his inventory. I usually like to pick up the Heater Shield at least before killing him. Heater Shield is one of the lightest 100% damage block shields in the game. Dude also had a bunch of weapons as well.
Yeah I noticed in the edit that I forgot about his other tabs and I was really upset with myself 😔
@@Wuggernaut The key is also for sale. Why must we Undead murder everything in our path? Are we bad? Hmmm.....its the only way to obtain the Uchigatana though. Choices.....choices all around and we dont even know we are making them.
@RuffirantHB these are the questions I’m too scared to answer 🤣🤣
@@Wuggernaut For now just forge ahead good Sir. The questions are for later and the answers are possibly unobtainable. But thats ok, because your videos are freaking awesome man! Thank You!
Small tip, just in case you haven't recieved it yet. You can not backstab while blocking. Took me an unthinkable amount of time to figure that one out. 😅
Thank you dude I appreciate the appreciation! 🙏 and ohhhhh that’s where I was messing up 🤦♂️😅
1:19:19 This chain of dialogues just fit the situation perfectly! Miyazaki keep telling you to give up!
So true, I didn’t catch that fully 😅 NO MIYAZAKI! I’m not going hollow 😤
Damn it is too late bro my bad 😅 but that’s the first time I heard that about his dancing, that’s so sick! 😂
It’s funny how intimidating the Gaping Dragon is in terms of health and appearance, but one you learn his attack pattern you see it’s actually not a difficult boss. Just can’t let him stomp on you 😂
So true, after seeing his move set he just seems like a dumb animal 😅
Thank you dude! Luckily I really enjoy this kinda play style for this game so I’m glad you guys enjoy it too 🤩
Dark souls is a survival horror game
@@jamesbarnett5157 LOL I never realized it but this 100% accurate so far
Nice to see you are back :)
If you are using a weapon but dont have the str for it you can use it properly only when you twohand it. If you use a shild in one hand the weapons damage becomes very low. Only use shilds if you have the stats for the weapon.
Noted! Thank you :)
I'll drop you a hint. Holy weapons are massively effective against the skeletons. But youll have to figure out how to make it. Best of luck dude. Working on my own playthtough rn too.
01:48:08 Bonfire in wiew
10 Seconds later … I hope there is a bonfire …
Another 10 later: “You died“
Sorry mate,it is hard! :)
😅 for the inattentive especially 😩
@@Wuggernaut happens to everybody I guess. At least to me … more than I’d like to admit 😂
Seeing you pop off after finally defeating a boss for the first time is so great. That’s exactly the kind of stuff I wanna see when watching a blind playthrough!
Bro it just comes out sometimes! Especially after getting my ass beat over and over 🤣 I love fromsoft for those feelings of accomplishment 🤘
It was sooo hard not to do this after the first session 😩 if I wasn’t recording a play through I would’ve 100% looked it up
3 hours is crazy bro, the amount of content you're giving us is absolutely insane!
Who knows?
I appreciate your obscurity 🫡 I think I found my next strategy in New Londo Ruins.. 😏
Thank you so much for making this one longer than the others, I'm always so sad when your videos end 🤣
🥹 that’s so awesome dude, no worries! This one was a special occasion, sorry if the video lengths go back to normal after this one 😅
@@Wuggernaut no pressure for the longer lengths! I'll just be pleased if and when they come around 😁
3 hour episode, was long, but I enjoyed every minute of it! Looking forward to your venture into Blighttown!
@@NightStar4701 thank you dude! I’ll see ya Wednesday 👀👀
Amazing chest ahead....
"Dude it's sun bro!" reaction to Solaire summon... priceless...
That's the first time I see someone fighting the Gaping Dragon with the mage shooting from the balcony. I didn't even think it was possible to make that boss harder 🤣 13 years later, seen tons of playthroughs and still learn new things about this game. Great content; keep it goin my friend.
Man that’s one of the beautiful things about this game so far for me, so many different possibilities! And thank you so much dude! I 100% will :)
Nice video! Gj with defeating 2 bosses!
You missed a hidden wall somewhere in the forest, and there's also a boss further in. But you can do that later, definitely looking forward to blight town lmao.
Also stamina recharges slower when blocking with a shield, if you didn't know.
Thank you dude! And I’ll definitely make a run back to those areas, in due time 😅
"I will not let you die in vain bro"
