LOL My experience of Souls games in general:- No 1 cause of death: greed No 2 cause of death: gravity No 3 cause of death: trusting messages left by other players!!
Always cool to see people who go through DS2 and who clearly are captivated by the strange world of it. It's a beautiful game in its own unique way (and was a pathmaker to Elden Ring).
I am absolutely loving it so far. It no doubt has its challenges, but they are definitely worth getting through for the good parts of this game in my opinion... we'll see if I keep that opinion as I move forward though LOL
@@WuggernautIt's an amazing game and it has some of my favorite areas in all of the souls games...The bosses in base game aren't the best, but the DLC has amazing bosses!
Covenant of Champions warns you 3 times before you join it is the"hard mode PVE" covenant. You deal less damage and take more damage from PVE enemies, can be invaded but can not summon help. Stuff can drop awestones and enemies respawn infinitely so can be farmed. In Dark Souls 2 most enemies will despawn if killed 12 times can be respawned if you re in the hard mode covenant.
Wanted to mention something special to you Wuggs... My best friend and I (both girls btw!) went on an incredible trip to Wales this past two weeks (we're from west coast canada) and successfully got her fully obsessed with your dark soul videos while we were away! I knew I wouldn't be as active during that time but still tried to rewatch your playthrough whenever I had downtime. Anyways, she noticed me watching and began really enjoying watching the videos too!! This was really special for me since I'm really into these games and she enjoys listening to me but doesn't game in her spare time so not at all familiar with the world herself. I've been recently helping her play Bloodborne though and she's been doing really really well!! So its been super fun sharing the lore and mechanics of dark souls with her too because of you. Hopefully one day I'll get her to try to play DS1 too! Happy to be back home and looking forward to seeing you continue playing DS2!!
Things you missed (without spoilers). - There's a drop near the sea in Majula that has a few items you might want. - You didn't explore the entire area with the annoying Armorer Dennis NPC invasion. There's a weapon there. - There's a soldier key door in the room with the gigantic statue sword. *TIPS* There's *2 types* of secret walls in DS2. - illusiory walls. Just like in DS1 you *smack* them to make them disappear. - hidden walls. You have to *click the interact (A) button* to open them. They don't show a "press A button to interact" prompt when you stand in front of them. They look like regular walls, so you gonna have to click-click-click like a madman to find them. These are all over the place. Some *wooden* doors can be *broken*
Wuggs you are simply an amazing entertainer. The bonfire moment has been one of the highlights of the souls games so far, I had such a loud laugh. However now the important stuff: Last video I advised you not to get distracted that much by new areas because you could get overwhelmed with new information and other types of enemies. I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY suggest to finish every area entirely because not only does it make sense regarding the lore but also you wont get distracted and will be more productive in your playthrough. The Silver serpent ring +1 you got is one of the most underrated items in the game and will help you a lot, trust me. And last but not least: Stay as you are, you are so fantastic, so entertaining and every single video of yours allows me/us to have a great time Thank you so much again !!!
Thank you so much 🥹 honestly that makes me feel so fulfilled in making these videos, I’m really glad you’re enjoying them so much, seriously 🙏 and that’s right! I think that’s exactly what I’ll do :)
Armorer Dennis... that bastard is a new player's nightmare. One of the more frustrating aspects of DS1 is how damage-spongy invader phantoms are compared to regular enemies. You nearly kicked his ass the first time, though, which was super impressive!
Most secret doors are physical objects you have to interact with. When you find one, the wall doesn't just disappear, it actually moves and slides out of your way. But there are a few illusionary walls and breakable walls that you have to attack. You've already seen the illusionary wall that you unlocked with the Pharros' Lockstone and you even commented on the fact that you couldn't interact with it and you saw the message on the ground; "attacking required".
SPOILER FREE: Dude, great videos. I've been really enjoying them! 1) All covenants are not created equal... 2) Lighting a torch, and especially sconces, can be very helpful in some areas. I'm sure you've already been told these things, but wth? Figured I'd toss it out there. Looking forward to your next one! ✌
Yes! Love the idea of you summoning lots for this playthrough. Without spoilers, there will be some areas you will probably end up enjoying more with some extra help
Oh. I just realized you've played 2 fromsoft games but this is the first time you're seeing the Moonlight Greatsword! Also joining the covenant of champions 🤣 Shalquoir actually warned you about it in the first episode!
01:25:29 You're not alone Wugg! I just noticed that one too from your playthrough in this episode! Like, wth?!!! I mean, must've been the urge to run away and progress to next area has rendered me oblivious to that bonfire's existence in a broad daylight!
I should mention that a lot of the barrels in the game have a darker color and are filled with gunpowder. Fire damage (like from your fire-sword), will make them explode. Non-fire damage will just break them with a little cloud of black dust. If they're blocking you, make sure to roll through them to break them instead of hitting them with your fire-sword.
Wrong! They still explode even if you hit them with ANY attack! The only way to truly break them safely is to roll through them. The only barrels that behave differently are the ones near Rosabeth while she is petrified.
@@HeroSword_P Really? Then how do you explain this? th-cam.com/video/QPL34TbjjTg/w-d-xo.html Some heavy weapons like Ultra-Greatswords, some great axes / clubs will explode gunpowder barrels with fire damage or not though.
Gonna comment based on Wugg's questions as my watch-through progresses! 01:22 - background lighting-colours looks dope! I like how it showcases Pikachu in an interesting hue.
The Hag merchant is the primary lifegem seller. You can carry up to 99 healing gems per type like grass in Demon Souls. Bosses give less exp if killed with a summons.75%exp if killed with 1 summon, less % with more summons. For some NPCs, you must summon them to progress their story. In DS2 only if you roll or attack with too low stamina you will deal less dmg and have less I-frames. So low stamina is more punished. Two-handing attacks: have the usual 1.2 motion(AR)modifier as in DS1, deal much more poise dmg than 1 handed, and the weapon STR requirements are halved. Eg. 20 str weapon can be two-handed at just 10 Str. The game does not explain power stance In order to do that you must have compatible weapons and have 1.5 times the requirement for the highest dex and str stat. Power stance has better-burst dmg, very high stamina cost, and usually less dps than two-handed. NPC invaders and summons are very common in DS2. As you already noticed ambushed, gank squads are extremely common in DS2 while most bosses are very simple.(some of them are just ganks of mobs.....)
"Ooo, who's voice is this? Sultry" Pate is voice by Peter Serafinowicz, easily the most famous voice actor in the DS series, though he wasn't at the time. You know him from Guardians of the Galaxy, John Wick 2 and Shaun of the Dead. He even voiced Darth Maul's 1 line in The Phantom Menace. He's also a geek himself.
One thing i found to deal with dennis, is that he can pretty easily knocked of the edge. Also i would really recommend going through each area in full before moving on.
The fire sword is pretty good, but I would recommend trying out new and different things. You might find a weapon with a moveset that suits your playstyle even better. DS2 is pretty good for that. Non-spoiler explanation of what the non-physical damage types are: Magic - scales with intelligence Lightning - Scales with faith Fire - Scales with Int + Faith. You can increase either faith, or int, or both and fire will benefit, making it very flexible and accessible. Dark - Scales with the minimum between Int and Faith. Fire damage will pair nicely with any of the other non physical damage types. Dark only pairs well with Fire but is insane strong. Pure Magic and Lightning are also very strong. It can be pretty worthwhile to infuse a weapon with any of these. The reason you get a fire sword so early in the game is probably because fire does not force you into a particular path to get the most out of it. The dark scaling is a little bit weird to explain, but simply put, if you keep your int and faith at the same level to each other, you will get the maximum out of both dark and fire, and their leveling will be roughly equivalent. Explanations aside, by all means, do your own thing and try out new things.
@@Wuggernaut Also, the long sword (including your fire long sword) has a poke attack if you do a two handed strong attack. Make sure you try both the two handed and one handed move sets for each weapon since the wide swings aren't good for tight corridors.
Must say, you're starting off strong! 😂 I'm loving the playthrough! I agree with some comments here, summoning can be fun and rewarding. As you already know, some NPC questlines depend on it. Regarding weapons, there are so many cool ones to try out. Have fun finding the ones that work for you. This game is huge. A tip is to really explore one area before moving on. Once again, the weeks are wayyy too long waiting for these episodes 😢
Wuggs, you're doing fine dawg. I just threw a wad of moneys at you in the hopes you listen to what I have to say. I literally never give advice.... But there needs to be some kind of voice of reason through this rabble. Misguided hate for this game begins to start about now, and I won't be able to bear backhanded comments about this masterpiece from you later... so let me help as a SPOILER FREE ds2 chad. 1) Abandon your covenant immediately- The Covenant of Champions makes combat considerably more difficult...enemies hit much harder, and that's probably why you had such a hard time in Heide's Tower. Super bad decision to join in a first playthrough... did you notice it asked 3 times if you're sure you want to join?...hmmmm?..... Shalquoir (the cat) can help with that. 2) Invest in a backup weapon- weapon condition doesn't work like you're used to. You need something in your back pocket you can turn to if things don't go your way. You don't need to equip multiple slots... It's just a backup. I suggest the halberd, but your tastes may differ. Regardless, it must be something you feel comfortable with. 3) Consider playing offline- Let's be honest my dude, online play isn't helping you and it never did (need ring?). Almost everything you've encountered is leading you astray and you don't need any more of that. Armorer Dennis is a difficult encounter, and you should expect many more NPC invasions going forward. They are worth your time and effort, but how are you gonna know if you always think it's some scrub trying to waste your time? All the bloodsigns and comments are also completely crippling your judgment at this point. You're not gonna offend anyone by turning it off. It's just the simpler option that gives you the autonomy to make your own decisions. 4) (yes, we are still going) summoning NPC's isn't mandatory for lore- I have no idea what genius keeps telling youtubers this, but it simply isn't true. Summoning does not nothing but give you access to unique equipment you may not even need, and the requirements are way too specific for a blind "Let's Play". At the end if the day it's your choice if you want to summon, and I support that choice, but don't assume it's necessary... because it's not. NPC actions will not be different either way, and don't let anyone tell you different. My death count was just over 800 my first playthrough (you can check yours in game at the majula monument, but only offline), and I honestly think you're doing great. You're learning. You're picking up on the right lessons, and I think you'll keep doing well. I don't think that community poll is necessary as all paths are (potentially) viable at the start of the game, but some guidance from the community might give some comfort. You missed something extremely helpful in Heides Tower, but otherwise I think you should rely on your instincts for future exploration. Change of pace: I love the new light. It introduces so many ideas a guy like you could take advantage of. This is a somewhat noticeably shorter video, but death did account for alot... don't ever think we don't notice how much effort you put into each of these videos. They're high tier. I, for one, highly anticipate them every week. You never disappoint. Keep doing great, and I look forward to the next.
DUDE! Please don’t feel like you have to donate this much for me to see your comment, but I SERIOUSLY appreciate this 🥹🙏🙏 not only the donation but the goldmine of tips as well. The only thing I think I may have to respectfully object is the offline mode only because of how many awesome (granted sometimes stressful at the time) moments in DS1 came from messages. Thank you so much again dude. I really appreciate the comments about the editing too, I’m so glad you’re liking the videos 🙏 I’m going to keep improving little by little each week and give you guys the best content possible
@@Wuggernaut This is a great place. A small thank you for your hard work, and a means to impart good knowledge quickly. They are also just informed suggestions for you to consider. If you like online, then I support it. keep killin it my dude.
This is some pretty good advice here. I rarely respond or comment. I also died a lot-I forget how many times but it was less than Chance805 much to my surprise. I rage quit twice before beating completing it on a third character. I had to go offline due to the pvp here. I don’t mind it in other games but the trolling was over the top and there was a section I didn’t even get to explore. I got angry messages. It wasn’t cool. That was my blind journey though. I enjoy NPC summons or at least embering around bonfires because sometimes you can miss something. That’s all I’ll say there. I’m totally amused over the covenant and think it was a fantastic blind decision 😂 Cheers.
@0:31 On the right side of the Player Status menu, you can see the Attack Power for all of your equipped weapons. The Attack Power is the combined Physical Damage + Elemental Damage + Attribute Bonuses + Weapon Buffs all in one number. So you can equip a weapon and then use a weapon buff like the Magic Weapon spell or Charcoal Pine Resin and then check the Player Status menu to see exactly how hard it's going to hit.
Don't give up skeleton! I like the new light set up, for DS2 maybe a warm orange color would fit the vibe. I don't know if anyone else mentioned but you have 4 ring slots now, so make sure you take advantage of that.
Yeah, I support summoning in DS2. It’s crucial for quests. And like you already observed, combat and boss fights really aren’t the main draw of this game anyway. Summon and have fun. You’ll have insane 1v1 bosses in DS3.
Yeah.. watching this episode of you raging and making faces while surprisingly having fun is the reason i started to follow you back in the old days... your reactions are priceless and entertaining... thanks for giving us great content to wacth.. my respect to you man.
Covenant of Champions (CoC) will make your game harder, as well as not allow you to summon anybody, including NPCs. It's a bold choice to make. (In case you were wondering where that difficulty spike came from)
I would recommend summoning for characters you've seen before since some of them require you to beat the boss with them to progress their story. And unfortunately yes, they do also need to survive the fight for it to count towards their quest.
A general tip: They tried to make it so light played a gameplay role in this game, so when you play enter a dark area light a torch... Utll help you allooottt
1:24:26 The sheer amount of shock, regret, terror, surprise and disappointment upon discovering a bonfire closer to the beginning of Heide area has caused Wuggs to went silent for 20 seconds with 5 seconds facepalm before he uttered "No Fucking Way" Pure gold, truly a DS experience
Lighting with torches and stuff raises the distance of lock-on. Other than that, it's just help to see and because this game was supposed to be much darker before they changed that during development. And while the fire longsword is good, my favorite weapon earlier in the game is the mace. I'd recommend going back near the entrance to Majula, there is something around there you'll want to grab.
I learned something thanks to this episode. I wasn't sure if opened chest items could despawn or if the chest would just close preserving the item if you die. If you die and a chest is open the item will despawn, similarly if you get a drop item and die before picking it up it'll despawn as well. As for where to go, I'd suggest going to the bonfire where the miracle lady was and keep going that way. For Rosabeths clothing if you offer her a new item she'll completely change outfits to whatever new thing(s) you give her and entirely ditch everything else. So if you give her just a chest piece and reload you'll find that she'll have ditched the Hunters set for whatever piece or pieces you give her.
A little tip: When you see wooden doors like the one at 15:00, or the one on the upper floor near the old hag by the bonfire, you can open these doors by hitting and breaking them, or by knocking and waiting for the people inside to open them. There is a third route you can take, which I'll suggest, and it's through that door at 32:59.
Me: When will he notice the bonfire he keeps on passing everytime." Classic DS, I remember beating one of the harder DLC bosses in this game and not noticing a bonfire before after I finally killed him.
Nah, don't listen to these guys... read all the messages! The DS2 community has the best sense of humor with messages and there are some important ones posted by the devs.
Another Tuesday saved! 🎉 Little fact about some locked doors in DS2 (after having watched about 30 minutes so far): They don't open unless you present a STRIKING argument.
A real quality of life attack is, jump attack it's really strong plus you dont waste time running up, stamina rolling closer You do forward and heavy attack at the same time (like how you kick in darksouls 1) Also the kick is now a guard break... If someone is blocking, do a guard break and itll stun them. You can stand next to them and do an execution
@1:06:32 About the Company of Champions Covenant. In Dark Souls, enemies will respawn when you rest at a bonfire, but in Dark Souls 2, that doesn't last forever. After an enemy has been defeated a certain number of times, (around 12 I think), they stop respawning. That means if you are farming an area for souls or upgrade materials, the enemies might stop respawning and the area will just be empty. If you are in the Company of Champions Covenant, enemies will never stop respawning, and enemies will appear again in areas where they had stopped respawning. Being in the covenant will make all enemies and bosses marginally tougher to kill, so don't forget to leave the covenant before boss fights. I notice that at the end of the video, you are still in the covenant. By being in the covenant, you are making the game somewhat harder. I only use it when I deplete a farming area and I want to keep farming it.
Entering covenant of champions and then wandering into Heides tower of flame. Great decision! I know someone that did that before you, lol... You probably know by now but: You do 20% less and enemies do 50% more damage.
Dont know if somebody already mentioned it, but the blue numbers (dmg) on the right when you hover over an item to be upgraded, indicate what the increase will be if you do upgrade it. Same for letters (scaling).
Doing a good job so far, Wuggs. Between Malentia, Lisia, Pate, Leningrast, and Rosabeth, Majula is starting to look more lively again. Btw, the silver serpent ring that the merchant gave you is a good item to wear at default. Rosabeth was always a favourite; with all the characters being either depressed, abrasive, or talking about higher matters, it's nice to have someone who just acts like a normal person who likes the company. With summons: the rule is that if you meet them as an NPC, you want to summon them and make sure they live. As people have said, there's still some areas left in the Forest; recall the door locked near the massive statue sword? I recently bought the Ps4 edition of this game (Had the old non-dlc Xbox version), and had a good time getting back to grips. Came off a no-bonfire run and man, the glow of the fire never felt so warm. If you need to know anything, it's all fresh in my head again. In fact, I recall you said you wanted to go with more of a bonking-stick build? Best of luck with the next part, Wuggernaut. And don't you dare go hollow.
Cool, you met Demon Souls' older cooler brother. Let me tell you that Blighttown didn't prepare me for some of DS 2 locations and run backs. Glad you're about to join us in this experience
There was an item in the trapped chest but since you died it despawned. It was just some titanite shatds if you were curious. Also yes, having npc summons surviving during boss fight will affect if you progress their questline or not.
he actually picked up the Titanite Shard the second time. 14:17 I had to watch in .25 speed to see it. I wanted to know if something weird happened cause it shouldn't disappear unless the chest was destroyed.
To be honest, before you started DS2 I had two things in mind which will happen - you will have problems with the Pigs in Majula and you will join the Company of Champions. And both happened. 😅 Two things I want to mention: 1. As a tip, dont run past too many enemies in DS2. It is better to clear them, something like rushing past all those skeletons will probably get you killed. DS2 sometimes has A LOT of enemies in one place, so running past them often does not work. 2. You can summon or not for bosses. But I think every Boss has at least one NPC which can be summoned and most of them are not really important for the story or dont provide any Lore. If you want, I can make a list of NPCs which should be summoned for their questlines, I would only mention their names, but not where to find them or where to watch out for their questline. But only if you want, I really dont want to say too much.
@@Wuggernaut Ok, got it :) Just wanted to offer, if you wanted to make sure to not summon NPCs which might be irrelevant. But completely understandable to be completely blind on that one, I would do the same. :D
I almost cried laughing at your reaction to finally finding that bonfire lol. If you go back and look at some of the footage, the camera keeps auto-panning to the right, towards the bonfire, every time you went to fight the first stone soldier. Way to persist thru the pain tho. Every ds player catches themselves beating their head on a wall and wondering what’s wrong. Veterans try adopting new strategies, newbies go hollow. The pain before the victory makes the dopamine hit harder 😜
Read the messages and summon all you can. It progresses some storylines and its also fun as hell going into a boss with two other characters. The game is hard enough. Stay human. Sometimes there are summons throughout the levels and they can help a lot.
There is an important boss that you missed in the first Area, Forest of Fallen Giants. You now have the key to open the door to him. All you need to do is go down the ladder from the bonfire near where the Hag Merchant sat. Take a right until you enter the next area were to soldiers with spears are guarding as you enter. Then go right agian and open up the door.
Woo finally able to finish watching the video :D Did you know that you can press "select" on your controller in order to see the explanations of what all the icons mean when you level up or are in your inventory? You can also also light your torch at a bonfire using Y and then A. Enemies react differently when you (or an npc) are holding a torch! Enemies in general have strange ways to react to what you are doing, so blocking or even walking out of the attack range as you did in heides tower was the best way to deal with them. Cudos on figuring that out :D Many don't attack you for a reason and you miss out on a lot of funny interactions when you attack everything you can target. Just keep experimenting and you'll find an incredible amount of ways to deal with enemies, bosses and the environment. Even after countless hours I still keep finding new things to explore!
Oh, there's more to explore in the Forest of the fallen Giants, investigate the area where the giant sword of the broken statue is and you'll find a 'familiar face'.
General info (no spoilers): Parries are a bit harder in this game since the attack animations vary greatly (startup) compared to DS1 (and even ds3). (small shields make it significantly easier to parry at the cost of less Def and Stability = you block less dmg and it drains more stamina per hit). Regarding your question about doing a bit of each area: you can do each area until the end or do bit by bit of each area (up to you). The place with the invading npc was the only exception so don't worry too much.
I really Love how Armorer Dennis is the embodiment of DS2. He’s the first NPC Invader of the game but he has easily late game stats. He has not only good gear and good levels, a ton of health but the game designer also said:” You know what? This Guy is pretty strong for low level players, so how about we also give him like 60 Intelligence and some of the best spells in the game?” Absolutely insane xD Sadly, he is not the only victim of questionable Game Design choices in the game. But we all believe in you Wuggs!
ADP is more of a adjustment stat between DS1 (the vanilla not the remastered where you are more clunky and slow and you depend more on shields) and DS3 and BloodBorne (BloodBorne being under development in that time, in which you are more flamboyant and depend more on rolling
At the beginning you didn't get an item from the trapped chest since you died. If you find an item and not pick it up, no matter if it was dropped from an enemy or found in a chest, if will disappear upon death. The item you didn't get might have been handy but not at all unique, so there is nothing to worry about :D Btw, you may be able to interact with doors and other objects in more than one way-
The crossbow chest? If so, if you go back and look closely, on his second attempt when he was rolling out of the way, he picked up a titanite shard from that chest and closed the item notification window pretty fast amidst the panic lol 14:13
Don't let chat bully you into using a certain weapon... the fire longsword is pretty good, especially at the beginning of the game, but so is the battleaxe. Both will be surpassed by later weapons. Have fun playing around with different weapons, and use the ones you like best. Just be warned that titanite is hard to come by, at least in the early game, so upgrade carefully. Also, I do recommend you get a bow/crossbow - they are much better than in DS1, and you can first-person aim them for distant shots.
@@Wuggernaut There are very few weapons in the Dark Souls series that aren't viable (so long as you upgrade them). Chat will typically try to steer you to the "best" ones - as that is popularly understood - but there are very few bad choices. Since most weapons have slightly different move sets, even similar looking swords, part of the fun is discovering the weapons you like best.
I wouldn't worry about player messages spoiling things, they are part of the game as intended by the developer. Not saying you should read them all, but if you ignore them you'll miss a lot of hidden things.

Armorer Dennis... that bastard is a new player's nightmare. One of the more frustrating aspects of DS1 is how damage-spongy invader phantoms are compared to regular enemies. You nearly kicked his ass the first time, though, which was super impressive!
Thank you dude! If only I could kept that energy goin 🥲

In DS2, if someone invades you, they can't invade you again until about 15 minutes later. So, if someone does, it means they are an NPC invader
Ahhhh thank you 🙏
42:16 definitely the best nickname ever given to him😂
Most secret doors are physical objects you have to interact with.
Wuggs is a brave soul for joining the champions covenant. May the sun shine upon you

Ahhh thank you for letting me know, that would have been tragic 😅
Wrong! They still explode even if you hit them with ANY attack! The only way to truly break them safely is to roll through them.
The only barrels that behave differently are the ones near Rosabeth while she is petrified.
@@HeroSword_P
Really? Then how do you explain this?
th-cam.com/video/QPL34TbjjTg/w-d-xo.html
Some heavy weapons like Ultra-Greatswords, some great axes / clubs will explode gunpowder barrels with fire damage or not though.
Gonna comment based on Wugg's questions as my watch-through progresses! 01:22 - background lighting-colours looks dope! I like how it showcases Pikachu in an interesting hue.
Thank you dude!
Yeah that Dennis fellow is an NPC. There were NPC invaders in DS1 too when you're in human status
The game does not explain power stance
In order to do that you must have compatible weapons and have 1.5 times the requirement for the highest dex and str stat.
1:31:43
Don't worry its quite common... I call it the "awe of heides tower's majestic view"
I blame it on this as well
"Ooo, who's voice is this? Sultry" Pate is voice by Peter Serafinowicz, easily the most famous voice actor in the DS series, though he wasn't at the time. You know him from Guardians of the Galaxy, John Wick 2 and Shaun of the Dead. He even voiced Darth Maul's 1 line in The Phantom Menace. He's also a geek himself.
Nice! He is amazing
One thing i found to deal with dennis, is that he can pretty easily knocked of the edge.
Also i would really recommend going through each area in full before moving on.
I'm going to take this advice to heart from now on 🙏
The fire sword is pretty good, but I would recommend trying out new and different things. You might find a weapon with a moveset that suits your playstyle even better. DS2 is pretty good for that.
Non-spoiler explanation of what the non-physical damage types are:
Magic - scales with intelligence
Lightning - Scales with faith
Fire - Scales with Int + Faith.
I appreciate this reminder, and all the info!

Thank you, I'm glad you're liking them! And I'm sorry I'm waiting for the day I can upload more for you guys :(
Don't sweat it! They're so worth the wait 😊

I’m totally amused over the covenant and think it was a fantastic blind decision 😂
Cheers.
Nice! Thank you for this 🙏

They tried to make it so light played a gameplay role in this game, so when you play enter a dark area light a torch... Utll help you allooottt
1:24:26
The sheer amount of shock, regret, terror, surprise and disappointment upon discovering a bonfire closer to the beginning of Heide area has caused Wuggs to went silent for 20 seconds with 5 seconds facepalm before he uttered "No Fucking Way"
Pure gold, truly a DS experience
Hahaha wouldn’t have it any other way 😅
I love the invader NPCs in this game, they did a lot to give them personality which they unfortunately didn't really do in the other games.
Ohhh nooooo, Ty for letting me know this!
Yay!! So excited Wuggs!!
I’m not gonna tell you where it is, but if you find the “ring of binding” it’s suuuuuper useful
Tysm dude!

A real quality of life attack is, jump attack it's really strong plus you dont waste time running up, stamina rolling closer
You do forward and heavy attack at the same time (like how you kick in darksouls 1)
Also the kick is now a guard break... If someone is blocking, do a guard break and itll stun them. You can stand next to them and do an execution
Ahhh ty for these tips!
Yeah ds2! I havent played it yet so im living through you
I'll try to make it as enjoyable as I can lol 😅
Company of Champions, where have I...oh no
👀👀👀
Dont know if somebody already mentioned it, but the blue numbers (dmg) on the right when you hover over an item to be upgraded, indicate what the increase will be if you do upgrade it. Same for letters (scaling).
"That can't be an NPC" (and then the face of despair). Welcome to DS2 🤣

“I’m in danger”
There was an item in the trapped chest but since you died it despawned. It was just some titanite shatds if you were curious.
Also yes, having npc summons surviving during boss fight will affect if you progress their questline or not.
he actually picked up the Titanite Shard the second time. 14:17 I had to watch in .25 speed to see it. I wanted to know if something weird happened cause it shouldn't disappear unless the chest was destroyed.
@felixfletcher8070 ahh I see Ithoought it was weird too.
I knew you were going to join that covenant. You were doing majula like a checklist when I was watching and I said, he will click that. Dude. 😂
Hahaah called it 😅
To be honest, before you started DS2 I had two things in mind which will happen - you will have problems with the Pigs in Majula and you will join the Company of Champions. And both happened. 😅
Two things I want to mention:
Lol of course 😅 and thank you for the offer but I’ll stay blind on the NPCs 🙏
@@Wuggernaut Ok, got it :) Just wanted to offer, if you wanted to make sure to not summon NPCs which might be irrelevant. But completely understandable to be completely blind on that one, I would do the same. :D
The same stamina ring was in DS1. You find inside The Great Hollow. On your way to Ash Lake. Most rings, weapons and magic are the same😊
I almost cried laughing at your reaction to finally finding that bonfire lol.
Hell yeah well said! I’ll keep persisting no matter what, ds2 will never make me go hollow 🤘
another w video you should 2 hand your weapon for thrusting damage its great and does more damage.
Read the messages and summon all you can. It progresses some storylines and its also fun as hell going into a boss with two other characters. The game is hard enough. Stay human. Sometimes there are summons throughout the levels and they can help a lot.
12:28 stamina regen feels slower than a mule in DS2😂 amazing early game pick up

Covenant of Champions on the first run?! Damn, man. Maximum respect!
It’ll be switched soon , I had no idea 😅

There is an important boss that you missed in the first Area, Forest of Fallen Giants.
You now have the key to open the door to him. All you need to do is go down the ladder from the bonfire near where the Hag Merchant sat. Take a right until you enter the next area were to soldiers with spears are guarding as you enter. Then go right agian and open up the door.
Woo finally able to finish watching the video :D
Did you know that you can press "select" on your controller in order to see the explanations of what all the icons mean when you level up or are in your inventory?
You can also also light your torch at a bonfire using Y and then A. Enemies react differently when you (or an npc) are holding a torch!
Enemies in general have strange ways to react to what you are doing, so blocking or even walking out of the attack range as you did in heides tower was the best way to deal with them. Cudos on figuring that out :D
Many don't attack you for a reason and you miss out on a lot of funny interactions when you attack everything you can target.
Just keep experimenting and you'll find an incredible amount of ways to deal with enemies, bosses and the environment. Even after countless hours I still keep finding new things to explore!
that's exciting! and thank you for all of these tips they're going to be helpful :)
ALL THE BONFIRES AND ALL THE SHORTCUTS!!

You've mastered jumping in this game immediately. A lot of people have trouble.
Nice!
Bro unknowingly put the game on hard mode by joining Covenant of Champions lol. R.I.P.
Summoning NPCs to help fight in Dark Souls II is actually encouraged as a lot of them are tied to their story progressions individually
General info (no spoilers):
Parries are a bit harder in this game since the attack animations vary greatly (startup) compared to DS1 (and even ds3).
Ahhh gotcha, Ty for the info 🙏🙏
19:50 ayyyooo
I really Love how Armorer Dennis is the embodiment of DS2.
He’s the first NPC Invader of the game but he has easily late game stats.
He has not only good gear and good levels, a ton of health but the game designer also said:” You know what? This Guy is pretty strong for low level players, so how about we also give him like 60 Intelligence and some of the best spells in the game?” Absolutely insane xD
Sadly, he is not the only victim of questionable Game Design choices in the game.
But we all believe in you Wuggs!
Thank you! Yeah he threw me for a loop 🫣
Instead of questioning it, you wanna maybe go like, "this one is too strong for me now, I'll come back later". See, was that so hard?
ADP is more of a adjustment stat between DS1 (the vanilla not the remastered where you are more clunky and slow and you depend more on shields) and DS3 and BloodBorne (BloodBorne being under development in that time, in which you are more flamboyant and depend more on rolling
At the beginning you didn't get an item from the trapped chest since you died. If you find an item and not pick it up, no matter if it was dropped from an enemy or found in a chest, if will disappear upon death.
The item you didn't get might have been handy but not at all unique, so there is nothing to worry about :D
Btw, you may be able to interact with doors and other objects in more than one way-
Ahhhh okay ty that was bothering me LOL also 👀👀👀
The crossbow chest?
Oh damn I had no idea!! And I’ll try out more weapons now that you said this, thank you :)
The hit-boxes in this game are RIDICULOUS!
Can’t argue with that 👀

I wouldn't worry about player messages spoiling things, they are part of the game as intended by the developer. Not saying you should read them all, but if you ignore them you'll miss a lot of hidden things.
