the movie is symbolic. The signs for example, not just crop circles, but the signs of God working in his life. The water represents cleansing of evil and fear. The Bible uses water to give rebirth and renewing, Living Water who when drank of, will never leave a follower of Jesus thirsty ever again. You notice when he had faith in the signs of his life and began to "see" as his wife told him (also a biblical concept, like beginning to hear) then he gained confidence again and the alien represented evil. His brother then was faced with having to deal with evil on his own as the family moved on, and he in the house which represents their life had to deal with his fears of failure on his own. When the wife is dying and she says "Tell graham to see " etc, its like God told her to tell him, because he was right there , he said "im here" thinking she was losing her mind but we know that none of it was coincidence, she was relaying the message God gave her to him " tell him to see" because God knew he would lose his faith and God already had the plan to restore it. -This is why it seems silly as a weakness , but when you accept the symbolic nature, its very powerful. To see his brother swing using water to defeat evil, to use his faith in God to save his life, very beautiful.

I've missed a flight by 2 minutes. 2 minutes! I would rather miss a flight by hours than by mere minutes. Watching them close that door as you're approaching is a horrible feeling because you know there's nothing you can do about it at that point lol.

@RandomlyReactandReviewFirst, if you liked this, you will love the sequel. Unfortunately, it has a cameo by an orange shitgibbon, but that thing can be overlooked, as the rest of it is good. Better? "Last Holiday" (2006), starring Queen Latifa. Bring a tissue. I really don't like, "A Christmas Story," but that might just be a me thing. Not everything is made for me. The third installation of Home Alone is okay. Not bad, really. But if you REALLY want to be impressed by Culkin, watch him in, "The Good Son." Forget a tissue. Bring your security blanket and a valium or legal spliff.

Even though it's a Christmas movie; "Home Alone" is one of those movies that you can watch any time of year and enjoy it. I last watched it in 2014 with my sister's family and we were laughing so hard at the film. My niece (who was eleven at the time) laughed herself silly at the scene where Marv (Daniel Stern) screamed bloody murder with the tarantula on his face. In my opinion Daniel Stern should have won an Oscar for Best Scream. What I didn't know when I first watched the movie is that house used for exterior shots of the McAllister house is an actual house located in a suburb of Chicago called Winnetka. I also didn't know that "Home Alone" is the most popular Christmas movie in Poland because it was the first Christmas movie from the west that was shown in Poland following the collapse of the nation's communist government in 1989. Quite humorously; the film's title is "Kevin Alone in the House" when it is translated from Polish to English.

I loved your reaction to this movie! It’s definitely a classic. I saw it in the theater as a kid and Macaulay definitely earned his stardom - he carried this film. Here’s a couple films he was in the following Home Alone: “My Girl” & “The Good Son”.

This is the kid/family version of Die Hard. The aftershave looks like Brute 33 which was alcohol based. If he took a hot shower his pores would have been open and his skin pretty sensitive. That stuff would definitely sting.

Macaulay Culkin's 1st film of any notice early on was as a supporting actor in "Uncle Buck" with John Candy in the lead. During the shooting of that film the director said DAMN this little dude could carry a film all on his own as the lead actor. & Out came "Home Alone" starring. - John Candy, as a supporting actor. The Director was correct, he carried this film very well thank you. Stunning performance. & The little kid that drinks too much & might wet the bed. Is Macaulay Culkin's younger brother, also an actor that has played in other films without Macaulay Culkin.

The Good Son is a good movie that Macaulay Culkin was in. It's a dark and messed up movie but it's pretty good haha. Merry Christmas, EZ11! 🤠

The thing is, even if they did kill Abigail, they're still trapped in the house. And her father would've eventually come to the house and killed them all in an enraged fit after finding out what happened to her. So, they would have been screwed no matter what.
