Good reaction. Thanks for reacting to it. This is similar to "The Prestige" and both came out in 2006. They're both excellent movies, but I like this one a little better. You are one of the first TH-camrs to react to it. One thing I've found quite annoying for the past few years is that there are countless reactions to the "Prestige" but almost none to this. I think it's because most channel owners can only copy what other people have done and are terrified to be the first person to react to something. Congratulations on having the courage and originality to do things that haven't been done much by others. Paul Giamatti was fabulous in this. He later played a very similar role when he starred in the mini-series "John Adams" about the founding father.
It truly is astonishing how similar every channel is, like it's a group chat on which movies to do. But I actually think that many of their patrons who pay to vote on what they do are on multiple channels getting all the movies they like reacted to. All the movies just keep circulating like they use an algorithm on what people want to see. It's getting boring. This movie is way better than its reputation and most channels would love it if they watched it.
@@MoMoMyPup10 I think most reactors have neither the knowledge nor the courage to do anything that other people aren't doing. I'm always trying to push great movies that haven't been done or done much, but in the few cases where I succeed, it happens very slowly after many attempts. Glad you agree.
Some reactors. I think, are simply chasing a high view count, so they check to see what movies got other reactors a high view count, and do the same ones. But as you suggest, there's an entire universe of excellent, classic, and award-winning films that have never had one single reaction.
@@oliverbrownlow5615 True. I've been heartened to see people start to do "Deja Vu," "Mississippi," "Little Big Man," "Rio Bravo," and "Stalag 17." Still waiting for Francois Truffaut's brilliant "Fahrenheit 451," the sci-fi classic "Enemy Mine," or the epic "Gandhi." The very same considerations apply to music reviewers.

In the DVD director's commentary he says all of those tricks are conceivable based on what they knew of magicians in that day, except one. Don't remember which one that is but it makes for a good discussion after watching!
