@@DumpsterCat altanak gives the deck much needed unfairness. Pioneer is too far gone for fair things now. Say it's name is a solid card on its own so leaning into altanak allows strong turns the opponent can't handle. Drop delirium and the need for mid artifacts/enchantments and add some bombs and the deck will work imo. The only idea for delirium I haven't yet tried is the new demonic tutor because if you've already got 2 Say it's name in the grave and you have delirium, you can guaranteed fetch the 3rd say it's name and get Altanak out. For 4 mana. But even then that's once again watering down the deck with cards u might not want just to enable the new tutor.

@@dancingyeti3922 I’m not too much of a fan of feed the cycle because it’s not impactful early game, especially with aggro being fairly prevalent. I do love Vraska though, just wanted to try out archfiend for this video. Trespasser is mainly in there for Phoenix game 1, but it’s definitely a close call between him and sentinel.

Correct. Opponent at two life, vine lasher+copy in board, freestrider on board, play trespasser target their graveyard to make the triggers, rather than the vine lasher in your own, you would have triggered freestrider, hit a land and both vine lasher would have triggered dealing the opponent 2 damage. You targeted your own grave instead.

It's tempting, but a tough call for sure. Graveyard hate post side in the meta is already pretty prevalent with the dominance of phoenix, so I'm not sure that leaning into a graveyard centric strategy is the best for us. Though, I similarly like the black overlord, and think that it could slot into a more delirium focused build. Grim flayer may still be too underpowered to register, but testing will dictate all of this. Good question!

Curious what you do for card advantage. The 1 for 1 game against other midrange decks isn't working because they have Fable, Giant, etc. I agree Bronco is not a great play but no idea what else fills that slot.

@@leonardoromero3789 hey! Good question. If we have to play EE to clear their board, we’re usually not in a good position. I’ve found it’s a little clunky versus them, and I’d rather try to attack their graveyard before the phoenixes come out, kill their shredders ASAP, and discard their cruises / free the fae. It’s kind of a Hail Mary sideboard card against them that’s quite good in certain situations, but usually not proactive enough for me to like it a lot in the matchup.

@@nocturne3455 yep it’s quite the powerful card! Definitely challenges scooze a bit. The only downside (which is considerable) is the GG casting cost. That’s the only thing keeping me from playing it right now

When I was trying BG rock with dorks I settled on 5 which was like 47% chance to get one in the opening hand. 8 is too many to fit other stuff in the deck. I do think we should be using them since they change the game entirely when you start with one.

Hey devtin! Good to hear from you again. I haven't been in K0's discord lately, but it's good to hear you guys are brewing with similar lists. I've liked trespasser with bronco - what are you guys playing in place of him? Preacher? As for the raccoon, I'm not too keen on it because of the GG casting cost and we already have a similar effect with scooze. But it could be worth it to try out. Thanks!

​@@DumpsterCat i agree with ooze. Racoon has been mixed. It requires a lot of concessions to the mana base. In place of trespasser we have been playing either glissa or cemetery prowler. You used to like glissa too. Are you less of a fan now? We also arent playing field but more manlands. I think field is very good though

@@devtin yeah I'm a fan of glissa, though with the amount of vampires and phoenix running around right now I feel that trespasser is positioned a bit better. I'm definitely a big fan of field though.

Have you tried free strider lookout and gisa the hellraiser from otj? It makes for a really good golgari pioneer deck, I’ve been winning with it so much

In fact at 18:00, you lose whilst your opponent was on 2 life. You missed 2 damage by cracking maps at 17:21 and 12:15 instead of precombat. Small decisions can impact the game :) Good video

@@JKgamershub thanks for pointing that out! I have a habit of not cracking maps if I suspect my opponent has removal (otherwise it’d be a small blowout) but you’re definitely correct at 17:21 as we knew what their hand was
