I really like the addition of questing beast, worked out very well for me in testing. seems great with all the powerful planeswalkers and overall meta in explorer/pioneer. mosswood also fits very nicely into the more straight forward attacking-value-ish gameplan now. the deck got better imo. obv rocks still feels like the most fair deck ever, wich is rough at times. I hope we get one more payoff in gb rocks at the 5/6 mana slot or even at 3 in the coming sets. interesting to see if the rocks can abuse beseech, but doesn't look like it rn. also the new 4 drop troll looks nice, but probably not good enough anymore. keep up the fight to make rocks tier 1 again (or at least 1,5) again ;) cheers.
I definitely feel the same way about the rock slowly getting closer and closer to becoming viable. Let’s hope the list becomes more cohesive as we get more data!
Hey D cat- great to see you back on the grind. Don’t really have time to watch this one, hoping to catch the next one. But from the description seems like dreadknight performed good
Awesome list and playing! Dreadknight is such a great addition to this archetype. I also appreciated your explanations about choosing Scooze and preference toward QB. Keep up the great content!
Thanks Andrew! Your tireless support is greatly appreciated! I delve deeper into the scooze and QB choices in the next video which will be coming out very shortly :)
Arena volume down would be ideal for future vids. When testing a new card 4x is usually the best (unless legendary) just to see it in many situations and then adjust after you have more data. What are your thoughts on hopeless nightmare+vraska for a more control build?
Thanks for the suggestion! Arena audio is always is a little wonky. That’s a pretty cool interaction and probably warrants a different shell. Im not sure if it’ll be powerful enough but it definitely seems sweet!
So far i'm loving dreadknight in explorer. I settled on a GB build splashing white for voice of resurgence and some sideboard cards and I'm quite happy with it. Though i am on arena as well since i haven't bought into mtgo so i haven't been playing the full format
Hey Tristyn! Abzan is always a fun one! I like the addition of voice; you’ll be able to be quite aggressive with that alongside dreadknight. As long as you’re having fun, arena is great for getting better!
i've just changed it a bit taking out 1 glissa for 1 huntsman's redemption. the main weakness of the list is that most our the big threat are legendary, but oh god it works way better with the new eldraine cards
cut duress and lili add 4th knight and 2-3 tireless trackers. I would personally try 2 trackers and 1 heart of Kiran or Bankbuster since all your creatures can activate it now. Also I would replace 1 trophy with the second go for the throat but ok that's a detail.
@@DumpsterCat It is a snowballing creature that can give you value even later in game which seems to be the theme of the deck. You can play 4th Glissa and Tresspasser instead but i think they are worth a try. If you replace the trophy's with murderous riders then you can play the new sentinel of the lost lore which gives you nice synergy playing the removal and then buying them back with the sentinels (and at the same time you still get to empty the graveyard of the opponent and exile their bonecrusher giants in adventure).
It only took me pretty much quitting for GB to get a good 2 drop! One word on Questing Beast: do you remember that list I sent you that pretty much ended up bombing? Well, that list originally played when I did well at that RCQ. I changed it when I sent you the list as I thought Shelly>QB was a no brainier. I think that was wrong. The initial thought behind QB was putting something at the top end that could end games quickly and unexpectedly. Kinda like how Jund has Bloodbraid in other formats. I say all of that to say that I think you're moving in the right direction with QB as finisher.
And yeah, sometimes it feels like QB is a lightning bolt that we can wait to draw in the late game that finishes the opponent off out of nowhere. Thank you for the insights, man, I appreciate you!
Thank you for posting this! I already have a BG Rock Deck sketched out on arena and I'm just twidding my thumbs waiting to collect the Dreadknights
💪💯💯
It’s my pleasure, Vernon! The dreadknights are more than worth the wait, I promise!

The answer is to try a food version with night of the sweets revenge as a payoff ;)
Got my dreddies on day 1. grinding with bg rock so hard.
The grind never stops 😤
@@DumpsterCat btw i'm tryin a list with no shellies, 4 Moss Boys and 2 chariots

Why the trackers? I feel as though they’re way too slow for the meta
