Abrolhos Islands Dive Trip - Day 1
มุมมอง 45หลายเดือนก่อน
4 October 2024. Day 1 of a 3 day trip on my first liveaboard boat. 4 dives at various locations around the Abrolhos Islands. Highlight of the day was being followed by a sweet sea lion who was shy but curious and hung out with us for quite some time. This was right at the end of a wall dive, just before heading back to the boat. Lots of other great interactions throughout the dives, with one of...
Carnac Island Sea Lion - Seeds for Snapper
มุมมอง 177หลายเดือนก่อน
18 November 2024. Carnac Island Seeds for Snapper dives. Seeds for Snapper is a fantastic volunteer opportunity for people in or out of the water to give back to the sea we love so much. I was fortunate enough to book onto a S4S boat trip this year where we went to Carnac Island to collect seeds. The surge in the shallows unfortunately made me quite seasick, however we were extremely lucky to b...

23 March 2024, Bremer Bay Dive Dive #141. Was a really beautiful dive, where Mandy found a new weedy sea dragon, we found a wicked ray right away and some wonderful large boulders creating a great habitat for a lot of different species of fish. Mettams Pool Snorkel - the beginning of the obsession
มุมมอง 434 หลายเดือนก่อน
A compilation of snorkels at Mettams Pool on four occasions: 14 Feb 2021 16 Apr 2021 6 Jan 2022 4 Mar 2022 My 4th snorkel in Perth ever, I was still a real newbie. The big occy was the first time I had seen one properly (not tucked in a hole) and I was mesmarised. It sat out in the open for ages, unbothered by us at all. Port Jackson sharks I immediately became obsessed with and part of the rea...
Seal Island with playful sea lions!
มุมมอง 114 หลายเดือนก่อน
September 2018. A kayak day my friend an I will never forget. This was one of the best days of our life. Only topped for me a few years later by snorkeling with playful sea lions. My kayak and GoPro skills were a little shaky back then so not a smooth as I would like, but hope you enjoy anyway. Bonus, the slo-mo point when the sea lion jumps out of the water so close to the paddle boarder was a...
Playing with Sea Lions
มุมมอง 694 หลายเดือนก่อน
Post the big Covid lockdown, in October 2020, on a camping trip to Sandy Cape (north of Jurien Bay) my wonderful friends took us to an island where curious seals will come to play with you. It was one of the best days of my life. They played and watched us, jumped around, interacted and chilled with us the whole time we were there, we only left when we finally got too cold. I have yet to be abl...
Karratha Snorkel
มุมมอง 1154 หลายเดือนก่อน
Karratha Snorkeling 14 July 2024. Couple of snorkel spots I explored, during a recent trip to Karratha. I enjoyed myself immensely, though my movement was limited, as I had my wetsuit (water was about 21-22 degrees, so a bit chilly), but no weightbelt, plus a still healing broken toe, so getting down to see the cool things was a struggle. The spots were shallow, so most of my time was spent app...
Mating Octopus Pair!! Exmouth, Western Australia
มุมมอง 1545 หลายเดือนก่อน
13 October 2023 - Lakeside, Exmouth Western Australia Came across a couple of octopus during a snorkel in Exmouth, first saw the female and then realised the male was nearby. After only observing for a short while, the male approached the female and I was curious what was going on. As the video shows, it becomes apparent that the male octopus intends to mate with the female. At the time I wasn'...

16 June 2024 Dive 1 was at Cigar Reef dive site. Max dept 21.9m, 32 min dive. Sadly the storm came down, swell was up, light and vis was quite bad (worst I have had ever at Rotto). A couple of the clips I almost mistook for a night dive when I first saw them again. Nice corals but wasn't too thrilled with the dive site. A couple of us had gear problems too so all in all wasn't a too pleasing ex...

Orziba Wreck Dive - 18 May 2024 Max depth 11.4m, dive time 66min. First dive at the Orziba Wreck off Rockingham. We found much of the main structures (I think) and then did a big loop around the exterior to see scattered bits of the wreck and the surrounding reef. This was a great dive, the ocean life has embraced the wreck so well, at times it was hard to tell what was reef and what was wreck....

My fav part! I absolutely love Blennys. So much attitude. One of the divers pointed him out to me, he went over and placed his hand right at the top to show me and I saw the Blenny make a show of going for his fingers 😂 so cute. The current was strong pushing me back and forth so was hard to get close and steady. But absolutely love the cutie blenny

No idea, didn't get closer, thats all I saw too. Might have been at a point I couldn't go down further again as I had gotten to my limits for being deeper. Was also conserving energy so I didn't use all my air too quick. All the interesting stuff I captured I have included in the video.

Are you going to do more dives on this wreck with more detail on the wreck itself?

    • @inspiredexploring
      @inspiredexploring 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Maybe - but my interest lies in the life in any location, rather than the location itself. So you will likely see more animal based content with the wreck in the background. It costs a fair bit to get out to this location if you don't have your own boat and being so deep, you have limited time there. I couldn't get to all the bits of the boat in one dive even if I wanted to (unless I got into tech diving/equipment/$$$). But I follow the cool animals I see, that's what I am interested in and that what I want to watch back when I see my videos again :)
