  • HMAS Perth II Wreck Dive - 24 March 2024 - Albany Western Australia.
Double dive - first time diving nitrox.
Dive 1: Max depth 28.9m, dive time 44min, visibility ranged from perhaps 6-15m at (lower down had pretty low vis) and the water temp was 19 degrees.
Dive 2: Max depth 27m, dive time 41min.
    Dive # 142 & 143
Organised by Diving Frontiers, we were fortunate to have great conditions to be able to dive the HMAS II Perth Wreck before the swell picked up and things got rough. The visibility along the bottom half of the wreck was not great, but things were a lot better on on the top deck and the top 12m or so.
We visited one of the resident wobbygong sharks and scoped out all the corals on the deck. Not as much fish life was present at this wreck when compared to the HMAS Swan in Dunsborough (which is at similar depth), I think it might be due to the bottom here being much more silty and perhaps more frequently stirred up than the Swan.
A great dive nonetheless and I am glad I experienced it.

Great Video, loved the shot of the Blenny surrounded by all the bubbles at the end😊

My fav part! I absolutely love Blennys. So much attitude. One of the divers pointed him out to me, he went over and placed his hand right at the top to show me and I saw the Blenny make a show of going for his fingers 😂 so cute. The current was strong pushing me back and forth so was hard to get close and steady. But absolutely love the cutie blenny

You can find gps coordinates of the wreck on Google too. In King George Sound, not far.

Where are all those bubbles coming from at 11:57 ?

From other divers below me. As they breathe from their tanks through their regulators, the air rises through the water. Quite pretty I find.

No idea, didn't get closer, thats all I saw too. Might have been at a point I couldn't go down further again as I had gotten to my limits for being deeper. Was also conserving energy so I didn't use all my air too quick. All the interesting stuff I captured I have included in the video.
