The code-switching between English and Elvish is just one of the problems-admittedly very difficult to solve in this setting-with language. There is no Common Speech at this time (which was basically disseminated by the Númenoreans), and so when the Southlanders are speaking, it must be some local dialect; the Harfeet would be speaking still a different dialect, probably related to that of the Men of the North (represented by the resemblance of Rohirric (Old English) to archaic Hobbit words in the book). In that case, 'Gand' would be the word for 'wand'; but it would not be a 'foreign' word for the Harfoots. Similarly, 'Alf' for 'elf' (In Gandalf, elf of the wand) should not be a foreign word for the Harfeet. They also have haphazardly chosen Quenya instead of Sindarin in many places; and some names like Mordor are Sindarin words, and for the Southlands to instantly be known by that name is, well, inexplicable. It's probably best not to overthink the language stuff, because the audience has to hear English for important dialogue-but the code-switching and the introduction of 'gand' as a special word draw attention to the language issues rather than letting the audience simply ignore them.

Does Bag Face not realize that movies/TV are a storytelling medium? As in, all the things he's concerned about are literally (as it was stated) superficial and entirely in service of the story? If Bag Face loves anything LoTR, then I wonder what it would take for him to declare that something LoTR-related was shit. I mean, if LoP had Not-Gandalf turn out to be a Terminator who then time travels to the LoTR-era, goes to the little Hobbit village, kills Frodo, Sam, and Bilbo, then finds Rosie, skullfucks her in front of the village and ends with a calypso musical number in which he proclaims that Sauron is their new lord and master to which they all enthusiastically agree, would that be enough? I am honestly curious exactly how bad something LoTR would have be for Bag Face to declare it sucks. I guess Bag Face is basically the LoTR equivalent of Star Wars Theory who defended Star Wars all the way until Acolyte, which was his final straw.

Has anyone else noticed The Movie Cynic titles his videos with anal references and to BSUP's with oral ones? I like the idea of choosing a theme and sticking with it, but I just wonder why for no reason... I'm not even autistic, given the 2 types of psych docs I needed to retain to preemptively defense the bullshite of my divorce said, I asked both to dx me, and I'm not autistic. I was surprised given my life experience of feedback from low functioning in name only humans, e.g., Amandalalala I've met throughout my life. The docs said I would come off as "weird" because I can make connections to things other ppl aren't aware of because I have a huge memory and have the workspace to create that type of map. Thank you Platoon for putting my frustration with the S1 opening monologue of RoP now being contributed by the S2 opening backstory into words. The writing on this garbage show is beyond bad. The writers treat the audience with utter contempt. You have to have no brain to like this show.
