No it's not a common build style for these large 1:8 scale super car models. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the modular style having built this, but it was nice to try something different. 😊

It's incredibly easy to overspend on Lego, you are not alone my friend we all do it when first venture into the hobby!

I fully agree with your overall sentiment here! ...I think you may mean investment uncertainty versus volatility though. As in it is hard to be certain on which Lego sets will do well as investment over time. It's not that the pricing of sets after they have retired goes up and down rapidly i.e. that prices are volatile. You are right on the time consuming aspect, it can consume more time than expected especially when trying to arrange sales with prospective buyers. All the best and thanks for sharing.

That's so kind Joe! I'm surprised people still enjoy and watch some of my older videos. I'm not disappearing forever. I'll refind my enthusiasm for Lego and make and publish the odd video from time to time in the future, I'm sure of it 🙂

Yes I'd agree with those points. I'd still steer clear of investing in Lego (as there are much better investment options out there), but if you are going to, investing in some of the large Star Wars UCS sets is a relatively safe option.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the set! The tail lights is definitely a consideration for this model. Batteries in the box is a tall ask though! 😀 I can't remember the last building toy type product that included batteries. All the best 👌

I think I know the TH-cam channel you are talking about. It's good that the Castle theme has had a real resurgence! I've a future Castle project in mind that's a similar scale to my Black Falcon's fortress which was a lot of fun to design and complete. I hear you on those 1x3 yellow arches, I wish they were affordable on BrickLink. Sometimes when sourcing rare parts it is worth having a look at Webrick, although not official Lego parts, if you need a high quantity of an expensive part can be a good alt option for a build.

@CraftedBricks Look forward to seeing the Result of that Project. And yes, The 1x3 Yellow Arches cost me £80. Luckily i have a contact here in the UK that can get most rare parts. I've re-designed the small Weapons Rack for my Super Enhanced Yellow Castle Project. The Blacksmith Shop and the Guard house I've Kept. May do something with the Other Corner where you put the table and Chair Eating area. Maybe a Small Jail cell in that corner like the one in the Big 6080 Lion Knights Castle from 1884. Or Both a Jail Cell and an Eating Area....

It sounds like you bought a non-official Lego set, it doesn't come with chrome rims. You'll have to ask the store or people you bought the kit from for help. All the best.

Hello there, I explain in the video where you can find free building instructions for the trailer. Did you go to the link in the video description to the Rebrickable page for the trailer? Also you can't just 'buy' the trailer you need to buy the parts from BrickLink and then build it via the free instructions. All the best!

You are unique among us Derek with not subscribing to 'Ambassador' Lego channels! I get it though. I find I rarely if ever watch 'standard Lego set review' type channels anymore. I think they have a purpose to 'show' people up-and-coming Lego sets so that people can make informed buying decisions. But as I rarely buy standard sets these days I'm more drawn to videos of cool custom Lego creations that I've not seen before. BrickVault is still good for that. Aww that's very kind of you to say that! I actually still have a lot of Lego related thoughts and tips etc. that I'd like to share. I think my website is going to be the best way to that going forward, but we will see.

'Life before Lego' ...so true, and strangely now that I've taken the pressure off myself re TH-cam I feel I'll be able to get back to 'Lego for fun'. I've lost that somewhere along the way. I've no idea how people like Tiago or David from Solid Brix Studios can handle building and video'ing standard Lego sets week in week out - I have must respect for their dedication and hard working nature.

No problem Will, I'm glad you have enjoyed some of the videos I've made to date. That CaDa v12 model is superb, I still have mine! I actually have a dilemma with CaDa as I promised them I'd review Suhan Ji's next model (he designed the v12 Hypercar). So perhaps to honour that promise, and if they send me set, I could make a simpler showcase style video of the finished model. I'll see what happens.

I'm hopping to have mine done prior to Christmas, I've just had some major issues with a flooring supplier and installer that has delayed me, been incredibly expensive and the job is still 1/2 done. It will get sorted out eventually.

I hope it goes well for the rest of renos. just remember to chill out and relax if things are stressfull. Btw Ive got a little lego room now so its all fun and games from here
