Mr. Simon, you impress me yet again with your review of this non-Lego set. With that being said, one would cry fowl on mixing Lego with non-Lego parts...I say go for it! Its your set and your build. Hats off on trying something new as I can see this "Astro-Boy" set being easily converted to all Lego. Cheers mate!
Another great video! Your production values, detail of review, and clarity of delivery are always impressive! Your channel is certainly underrated. I'm loving all of these different branded lego-conpatible competitors. It's great to see different IPs and themes popping up to what you would normally see at Lego. I do hope that these competitors continue to invest in part-quality and seeking out some licensed IPs. A great example would be your Cada Apollo video; Apollo is a small manufacturer and they honestly may have been excited about the product as the build is a fantastic representation of the Intensa Emozione.
Thank you Nolan! And good to hear that you like and appreciate a couple of non-Lego brand videos sprinkled in to my line-up. TBH though, given repeated experiences with poor part quality I do feel reluctant to buy and/or video any more no-Lego-brand products. But I know CaDa are keen to send me another one of their kits in the future to build and review. So perhaps something for 2023.
never really cared for astro boy and not a big fan of chinese lego but this model is definitely an eye catcher! and as usual, superb video quality!! :)
Thank you Damien, I'm pleased that you and others like the video and the build. Being an off-brand model I was somewhat apprehensive about this video, but it looks Astro Boy's charm and the good design of this model has won people over! : )
Haha nice try! Yes I did buy two copies but I've built one and plan to keep my model with the 1/2 - 1/2 look as I think it looks cool that way. I'm giving my 2nd set away as a prize in my annual giveaway! : )
I do have some that - and it does help with very small scratches, not larger ones however in my experience. But I think I'll give this a go, thanks for the reminder!
The sad thing about astro boy is that the person who made it is his own father , sence he lost his son who was like him and he wanned to build him like a robot and return memories like nothing happand , its shown in one movie astro boy as part of a lore , this set is realy well made .
I will try the polish method first, I have some of that Meguiars PlastX polish that does help to bring up darker colured parts that have light scuffing.
I grew up with Astro Boy too and I think this set looks great. Very good review!
Thanks Caron! And despite the minor issue with the scuffed/scratched black parts the set on the whole does look excellent and is worth buying I think.

Thank you! This little model is quite charming! But no rest for me, I'm already working on the next build, and it's a big-un!

Nice video as always Simon 👍

Oh yes I definitely understand. It's certainly been well designed though and was worth trying out! Have a great week Edward!
Cool set and a much nicer outcome than I thought it would be for an off brand toy building brand! Awesome vid Simon 😊

Great job, I enjoy your videos. Did I hear you got 2 copies, and do you intend to build a full covered version? Can't wait to see how it goes.

A little Mequiars polish and a microfibre cloth will fix those scrathes in seconds.
I do have some that - and it does help with very small scratches, not larger ones however in my experience. But I think I'll give this a go, thanks for the reminder!
wow! so cool!
As always thanks! It's a fun and good looking small model : )
Nice model, I like it!
It's certainly got some charm!

An iconinc show / series and also a very good looking model!
I’m not too familiar with Astro Boy tbh but the model does look really good. It’s a shame about the scratches and maybe some can be polished out.
