This is quite possibly (in my opinion, IS) the best Star Wars UCS mod out there. Absolutely blown away by the outcome and I can't wait to update mine! Phenomenal work Simon!!
Absolutely wonderful MOD Simon! I love the changes you've made to enhance the UCS TIE Fighter and it does have a brawler feel to it that just suits the TIE Fighter so much better than the more LEGO-like brick-built construction that came before. I'm so happy for the shout out as well I was not expecting it! 😅😅
@@CraftedBricks Thanks Simon my head is certainly full of ideas and I just love modifying sets to make them all fit-in as a collection better. I don't know if you own 75371 Chewbacca but after seeing 75398 C-3PO I recently modified Chewbacca's stand so that it represented the forest moon of Endor. It's the little things that make a collection look more cohesive that make me appreciate it more.
First of all, I applaud your intro on the importance of using gloves and secondly not using "off color" parts in the cockpit re-build. One detail, though a simple change was to remove those matte black plates to shiny ones...Perfection! 👍
Thank you! It's been a labor of love this project that's for sure. I hope people that do choose to update their Tie Fighter enjoy their improved model!
Hello Simon. Another great MOD. Thank you for the superb images and footage while comparing the 2 models + super clear explanations. I won't go for this project as I did not collect any UCS, but I really appreciated your videos, 👍👌🙏 My last project was a MOD of the Caterham car in black + medium azur (Lego idea 21307)
Simon, I am surprised you went this direction. I am not a fan of the strappy look of the new tie interceptor. I was actually considering a mod of taking the old tie fighter cockpit to the new interceptor but decided to do my own mods on the interceptor instead. I actually like the old tie fighter look. Nice video as always though.
@@patrickh6813 - Hi Patrick, you know what, initially I didn't like the 'strappy' look of the new TI body either. But after doing this mod and seeing the model in person I can 100% assure you the new design is much much better. In comparison the old one has a 'weakling' look to it and a very angular and blocky look. It's something best seen in person. That said everyone has different views so I completely understand and respect your preference for the old TF body design! 🙂

All good Lachlan and thanks again for the idea prompt. You need to start BrickLinking to get your original Tie Fighter modified asap! 🙂

@CraftedBricks Yes, this rebuild should be the new standard. The elements that have come out since make the original look dated. 👌
Its an amazing mod / moc. Definitly added to my backlog of projects I want to try!
Sounds good Corey. I am certainly eyeballing your AT-ST as a future project!
Nice vid Simon.

Thank you for commenting as always! That Caterham is a striking and good looking model! I bet in those colours it looks superb.

All good, I had high hopes for the TI and was disappointed. I did make your wing mods some time back 👍
Also the Lego Star Wars 75357 Millenium Falcon starship collection 🙏🏽
You should do one of these with Lego technic 42151 Bugatti bolide🙏🏽
I don’t own the original 2015 UCS Tie Fighter….be curious to see what it would take to build this as a MOC….🤔
