2022 Yamaha MT07 Review || This Bike is STILL Worth the Hype!
In todays video I will do an in-depth review of the 2022 Yamaha MT07. For years now the MT07 has been considered one of the best motorcycles for beginner riders and a staple in the community. Watch as I go over technical specifications, get the bike out on some twisty roads and then test out its’ highway capabilities. For the first time since the beginning of my riding career, I have found a motorcycle to dethrone the Ninja 650 as my go-to starter bike. Find out why the MT07 is still the best bike to start on in 2022 and also can be a great bike for experienced riders. As always if you have any questions or opinions, leave them below and I’ll make sure to respond!

I also made the sport bike to supermoto transition, but I came for the offroad capability and unlikelihood of expensive repairs after every crash, and stayed for the ergonomics and agility. I initially just wanted a bike that I could ride on snow during winters, but eventually I realised I'd rather keep riding a supermoto the whole year if I could just get one that is fast enough, which I did when I got a '22 690 SMC-R.
It’s kind of funny you say revving out a smaller bike will be bad, but to get the most out of a 600 you want to be just as high in the rev range.
it's almost impossible to describe to people who don't ride liter bikes how much joy these rocketships give you, but goddam, if everyone could experience the joy EVERYONE would have one.. not to mention how stunningly beautiful these bikes are.. I'm in love w. my blacked out V2. nice vid mate!
Awesome video mate, thanks 🤘
Haskavarnia? 🤔
I have the Gasgas SM700. Apart from the grunt, ergonomics and behaviour, main reason i like Supermotos is that you have maximum fun at lower speeds, which is the way to go on public roads. You also seek better scenery.
Quick shift only working when you going Quick. 😆
Very good video, I never considered a supermoto until now.
start with 1000 🎉. its easy no dramas
Love the energy in this one, Jones Bros Garage! If you’re ever brainstorming ways to improve storytelling or post-production, I’d be happy to chat!
Much better choice. Sportbikes really don't make great street bikes
V2B is even feels better. Perfectly balanced made bike. The Perfect Bike.
Had gsxr 750 cbr 600 aprilia rsv 1000 few supermotos. All has the perfect place where shines. On the road a 690 701 mire than enough. Sometimes you could be lot faster on them you can imagine. Lots of times ended up the front when we were out on group rides cause bigger bikes holding me up especially on twisty roads.
My first and current bike is a 77 cb550f that I've restored. Although I did grow up on dirtbikes (80cc-125cc)
I'm 5"8 maybe close to 5'9 I can flat foot both my feet on the V2 went to Ducati last month looking at a V2 got to sit on it & I was even bouncing the bike in between my legs lol such a good bike & light weight bike to can't wait until I get it next month
Regarding the Quikshifter, it sounds like it isn't activated. Take it back to the dealer and get them to plug in their laptop and enable it and calibrate the sensor. Sometimes the pre-delivery isn't done when you first take delivery of the bike. Mine wasn't working either so I took it back after a week from new. You should be able to do full throttle gear shifts.
Im starting on a 1250 😂😂😂
Bought a 2020 model. Added a Power Commander 6, Rottweiler intake, Cumpan tachometer and gear indicator.
I bought a Husqvarna 510 SMR and kept my Panigale 1199 :-D
I bought a 2020 701 supermoto and love it. Added a Rottweiler air intake, an sc-project exhaust and a Power Commander 6.
how about a 100 hp twin vs a 100 hp 4 cylinder?
I love the color
How tall are you mate? I want to make up my mind knowing that it will be fine. Im 5'4 with inseam of about 28 inch. With seat height of 814mm and 25mm lowering kit and 60mm from daytona boots, seat height will be like 740mm. Do you think its possible to easily reach the ground then?
People are crazy for wanting to start on a 600cc i started on a 400 and now a zx4rr that i both daily and and i still dont think im ready its a crazy difference
$8k!? Here in Puerto Rico they go for $12k usd.
I have a 2011 , you should love that bike. When you talk about the weight, I would suggest when you come up to a stop, try to make sure you stop with your bars straight, if you hit the front brake and your bars are turned, your likely to drop your bike, because it's already turned in that direction, hope you enjoy the bike, ride safe
Its wierd... I came off a gsxr 600 that used to run hot engine temps in stop and go traffic... But the bike never felt hot to ride. Now im on a monster 821 and the engine temps are cooler, but the bike will literally bake you in traffic. Idk why ALL Ducatis feel so hot. I like the brand obviously and happy to finally own a Ducati but why do they all feel so freaking hot?
I'm confused. Itsnt a 650 (Ninja 650) more power than a 600?
Need to work on ur downshifting mate, but cool vid! Happy trails!
U know u can spot a "non youtube:r" when watch this.. sry
I think the best starter bike is a 1000 cc chopper with 15' forks and 16" Ape Hangers.
With the right slow speed practice and some cop riding classes, you’ll be whipping that thing around town like it’s a Grom bro. You should look up Lock and Lean
how tall are u btw
My father years ago knew i had my FZR 400 at work. He eas a H/D kind of guy. He brought me My car and took my bike home for me. When I got home, he asked how do I ride that thing. He got on the gas in 6th going up a hill. Next thing he knew he was bumping 109. Throttle control is paramount on that type of motorcycle
I'm getting my license after this winter and I am dead set on a 650... BUT, but.. a CBR650 from early '80... it's absolutely gorgeous, however I would love to own a ninja 650, but never as a first bike
I started on a 2005 kawi Z1000. No electronics. Sold it and bought a zx6r. It was too slow for me after starting on the 1000 so I sold it and bought a zx10r. Witch is perf and I don't think I could ever get tired with.
Tbis is probably the only naked bike I like, it's just the styling
ducati almost the same price
sure is like riding a vibrator
i just wanna have it to ride at 130 to 150 without my bike screaming for help and feeling the engine would explode 😅
very compelling cons. i started on a R3 but could never articulate why as good as you have, and frankly didn't think about the lifespan of the riding progression. your arguments make it sound much more enjoyable and rewarding to extend that enjoyment. thanks!
Popped my supermoto cherry on an SMC 640 R last weekend. This is spot on. I was giggling like a little kid the whole time. This is also a type of bike I’ve never own and the one I’d like track and light off road with. Thank you. This encouraged me to move forward with a supermoto.
Just bought mine. It is truly awesome.
If you get a 600 get it temporary, don't let it be your dream bike, just a learner. I am almost 50years old, have a Ninja 1000 SX, and I love it. With the 600 I got used to it and always wanted more, I don't want more than this 1000, it will rip your face off when it wants, I love it. No going back to 600.
17 years old starting on a zx6r
Your setup is so 🔥🫡
My first bike was a 2002 r6 and being 260 pounds it wasn’t enough grunt for me my second bike and still current one for 3 yrs is a 2006 ninja z1000 so seriously dude stop thinking you speak for others here in nz a beginner can ride upto a 650cc on a list based on power to weight ratios with the Suzuki sv650 being a popular choice which with a few mods could give that r6 a run for its money.
Also Cassie Myers, check them out.
Check out Jocelyn Snow, (tiny lovely fairy size) she rides and teaches on big adventure bikes, like the BMW adventure bikes. Amazing.
Im starting on a 1985 Yamaha Virago 700 lol
