I just bought one of those, I have like 300 kilometers and I couldn't be more happier. Bike feels truly amazing, the handling, the power, the sound... I put on Akrapovic slip-on exhaust and it sounds really really awesome. Can you share a list of parts from the aftermarket you mentioned? I was looking into intake part
That’s awesome! I’m going to be doing a full build series this winter on this bike and I’m very excited to throw an exhaust on it. I was talking about the air intake on www.rottweilerperformance.com/701-sm/. It saves a ton of room under the seat compared to the stock air box but obviously the main benefit is a power increase.
Amazing bike bro! I bought one and love ❤️ it! I’m surprised that more people don’t realize how phenomenal these bikes are! Especially in the uk where I live!?
I just bought a used 2021 KTM 690 SMC R. THE TRUTH....most fun bike I've ever owned besides my 2018 VMAX. The downside....quick shifter is garbage (I always use the clutch now) and you must immediately buy an aftermarket slave cylinder (it's a must). Love the bike. Worth the money
Yes definitely! It’s my favorite bike I’ve owned! Apparently the slave is good on the 2022 so we’ll see.. I’m leaving mine stock so that I can let everyone know. And the quick shifter is terrible lol, I didn’t realize you actually need to let off the gas to upshift which is funny because I can do that on any bike.. oh and the vmax is that fun? I haven’t ridden one yet and that sounds amazing!
@@JonesBrosGarage yes, the 1800 VMAX is an absolute monster. It put out 200hp in 2009, long before the liter bikes did. As for the quick shifter, you actually need to be at certain speeds and throttle for it to actually work according to the manual. And you should not have to let off the throttle to use it. You just need to full throttle and high rpms for it to function properly assuming it doesn't find nuetral lol
@@AustinFies88 yeah it only works well for me if I back slightly off the throttle on up shifts, I’m usually approaching limiter pinned when I do so I know I’m in the speed zone. I’ve heard it can be better after the first service, which I just had so I’ll see.. I’ve just been spoiled by bikes with great quick shifters. And yeah the vmax is so badass I definitely need to try one out!
Hey man, I bought one of these a few months ago and I love it too. Everything you said is spot on. I’ve owned a few different types of bikes at this point, and it’s hard for me to consider anything else at this point. Best street bike on the market. Also, videos installing the mods would be cool. Maybe with the fueling dongle?
Yes I agree, it’s such a blast! I definitely plan on doing some mod videos. I already did the dongle but could still do a video with it. It’s super easy it only took a few minutes! It’s so worth it
I didn’t realize that! I went by the manual and tried the “sport” mode. It was way too stiff and I have everything at 12-13 clicks now as a baseline as I continue testing it
Yes that is very true! The drz is a good bike also! Unfortunately a lot of things are twice the price of others and just not worth it. This definitely is a case where I’d say you get your moneys worth. 👍
They were around $6700 new but unfortunately they aren’t made anymore. They’re selling used for a ridiculous $5500-7800 usually. It’s a great bike don’t get me wrong, I owned the R. At this point though for the price I’d maybe check out a new Kawasaki klx300sm
@@Andu21 honestly In todays market that’s almost impossible. The closest you’d probably get is a good deal on a drz400sm or some variant of klx. The klx250 dual sport could be a good bike to look into! If you’re looking for a supermoto that is. If not I’d check out the Yamaha Mt03 possibly if you can find one that price.
Yes it is. I was referencing the drz400sm tho. Also the 20 odd extra horsepower is a big boost to compensate for the weight gain over the 450mx bikes. Obviously a properly set up 450 will destroy this bike on a tight track though and feels more “raw”. 🤟👍
Yeah you’re right! It requires less rear brake than I thought it would upon reading more into it. The rear brake on this bike would still be a plus because it doesn’t feel “mushy” like a lot of bikes tend to and is pretty easy to make fine adjustments. (Why I mention it’s awesome for wheelies) Regardless though good point. 👍 It’s definitely a skill I’d like to learn and have yet to try, obviously
I bought a 2020 701 supermoto and love it. Added a Rottweiler air intake, an sc-project exhaust and a Power Commander 6.

Down shifting I let off the throttle and it seems to work better at low revs. Although the KTM does have a slipper clutch

If you look under the seat, its tells you the suspension clicker settings. Not sure if youve seen.

Why did you choose the husky over the ktm?
I have a DRZ400 and I want one. I would expect it to be twice as better because it is more than twice the price.

What is the seat height?
890mm or roughly 35 inches
I’m trying to find a dealer in Maryland/PA area
Closer to 80 pounds difference between 450sm to 701sm

People that take their supermoto to the track don't use the rear brake to slid around the corners, they down shift a couple times.

I have one, it stops in 1N 2 gears in slow speeds. KTM problem with no solution. This bike sucks.
What do you mean it stops?
@@JonesBrosGarage the engine stops and you have to restart the bike
@@maikn1245 oh wow I’ve never heard of that. It’s not the kickstand sensor?
