Its fine to sit and discuss, but just about everything you have made your opinion on is wrong. Luke McDonald is a great bloke, a true roo - but I'm sorry, there's no way he makes the seniors barring horrific injuries to all our depth in defence.

I think with the midfield depth FOS will start as a high half forward or potentially wing. McKercher to the wing also. FOS impacted around goal a lot in his U18 career.

Are any of the half backs tall enough to play as utility forward type. The other option is identify some guys that could do midfield and then try to develop them as a midfield at VFL level. Giving them 100% match time and develop the running patterns and skills. Then bring them in. Players may be frustrated but sometimes development is better at VFL WAFL SANFL then playing on off bench or backpocket at AFL level.

Clarko is apparently wanting Hardeman on a wing, I think Goater can play that role too. Would be good to have 3-4 players in the squad who can all rotate through both the half back and the wing

The fact that we have so many options is great. They can all fight for a spot , Its what will push us up the ladder play well or play reserves.

There will definitely be a squeeze in that HB role. Big fan of Goater but also see Hardeman as a huge potential. I actually see Bergman being pushed out. Fisher has a long contract, so I like the try of him up fwd.

Spot on with Fisher up fwd....if there is one thing I think we still lack its that Brent Daniels/Toby Bedford/Gryan Miers type of player that can work up and back. Fisher seems to be physically that type of player, but I wonder if he has the tank to play that role.

I thing too many North fans were blind to LMac’s great acts and efforts and just saw his mistakes. He is under pressure for sure but didn’t deserve the hate/blame for the ball being locked in our backline for 70% of the season.

Glandular fever is no joke, it's brutal. I had it in my teens for 2 years. Alistair Lynch had Glandular fever which led to Chronic fatigue in 1994/95 I believe and he still played over 300 career games.

Guys you need to fill out a team sheet cause when you talk you have 28+ players in the 23! There is pressure on a number of players. Good for the team. In relation to Taylor a very talented player but his lack of physical development may be reason he was let go

There is a spot for Will Phillips as an inside mid/tagger. Zurhaar should not be getting very much midfield time. MacDonald should be in the reserves - North cannot afford Corr and MacDonald in the same team. MacDonald simply cannot be made co-captain again. Eddie Ford should play high forward/wing. Duursma should be in the reserves until he starts kicking bags - and until his body develops. OK, time to play best 22. Many players need to step up. Give them 2 or 3 games and if they don't contribute, drop them. It's time to toughen-up; we've been cellar dwellers for too long. With the additions to our team, 2025 is the year to start the climb back.

We have a heap of players who need a big 2025. That's part of our problem that so many players have generally underdelivered that we now need a lot of them to step up to enable us to move away from the cellar. How realistic is it to count on so many of them doing so? We should never have offered Zurhaar a 5 year deal. Way too long for a player who underperformed last year. I love what Zurhaar can potentially bring, but he shouldn't have gotten more than three years plus an option for a fourth year that would be triggered by meeting certain performance criteria in his third year.

Wardlaw is a bit of a left field one for me. He's teased what he can do in games however just doesn't do it consistently enough. If he brings what he did against Collingwood last year for 8 or so games and not go completely missing in too many other games I think that will be one of the many catalysts that drive us forward.

Serious question, did LMac win his Syd Barker in a contract renewal season?

1) Pressure is the greatest on LMac, as captain and with the backline competition for spots. 2) Then next, LDU is under pressure as our star midfielder to deliver in 2025. 3) WilPhil is make or break in 2025.

Zurhaar was taken with pick 11 in the rookie draft. Yep, the rookie draft. There are probably reasons for that. I would say he was inconsistent in his Junior days, and that really has not changed. He was not recruited to be the go to player. He needs others around him to take the pressure off him. As I have previously mentioned, Will Phillips has been mismanaged in previous years, and I still think he is suffering and recovering from his bouts of Glandular fever. Needs to improve his tank if he is to take over the inside mid role and share it around with the Lord of War. Eddie Ford need to be played at CHF. He is a good mark and needs to be closer to goal, every time the ball goes near him, he looks likely to do something, it just does not go there often enough. Fisher, it doesn't matter who he is kicking to, as long as he kicks effectively, but I think he has decision making issues. McDonald needs to learn to spot up options instead of just bombing it every time. He is more fitting for Pagan's paddock, would have been very useful in the 90's.

You will win a flag in the next seven years, not even North could stuff this up but it will be a very hollow win indeed.

Loved when the cheer squad started the North Melbourne chant it vibrated around the ground.

Just on Taylor goad, his first few years have been dedicated to gym. North have communicated that to him and he was happy to partake. Don’t expect him to do too much until he puts on size and weight. On his ability though, not a doubt in my mind his got something. His quick and agile for his size. I’ve seen him play a few times. I remember him going head to head with Tom Campbell. He got up much higher than Campbell but struggled to keep his position being out muscled by the bigger mature body. This didn’t stop him from turning Campbell inside out at a stoppage and running away with the clearance, out running even the mids who couldn’t catch him. He did end up shanking the kick. Just shows that he has raw ability though.

Whitlock isn't a key forward and has already been playing on larkey in match sim. Did his best work down back and I think he'll stY there. We'll throw a big contract at his brother in hope to bring ths kewmy forward to the roos in a few years.
