Surely North get two key position players in the draft this year. In the off chance LDU decides he wants to be traded surely we get a top 10 pick next year for him so we can use that to draft a mid if it comes to that. I do agree if we can get 1 2 or all of Tauru, Armstrong and Trainor then that's a good haul. It is kinda wild to think that if we do draft these guys with these picks that they may only play a small handful of games next year as key players take a bit to develop
as a tasmanian it sucks to see north lessen their games, but the reason the games died off down here was more to do with north having a smaller fanbase and getting other rubbish teams like goldcoast and st kilda down here. If they gave us carlton, richmond, collingwood etc it would be sell outs

I think the Demons will take Tauru at Pick 5 if we end up splitting our Pick 2 with Richmond. Because of that, I don't think we should be splitting the pick. We need to take Tauru in this draft, however that ends up going.
I think the Dees will prepare for their post Petracca and Oliver period by selecting the best available mid with their first pick. They are also rumoured to be preparing a bid for #2, which North needs to insist on involving their #5, otherwise there is a risk they'll use it on Viking if he is in fact North's number one target.

If Cornes can heap some shit on North he won't pass on the opportunity. I'd strongly prefer North to split #2, but only if we can get decent value in return, so that we don't have to frivolously trade away our F1 for peanuts. That F1 is likely to still be a top three pick or perhaps a top 4 considering we were 8 wins away from the 5th last place last season. If we are stuck with #2 I think we're obliged to take the best available player with that pick, which is a midfielder. Saints and Melbourne are rumoured to be interested in #2, so Richmond is not the only game in town. If #5 is Melbourne's first pick I can't see them take anything other than the best available mid to prepare for when Petracca and Oliver are no longer there. If Brady butchers these negotiations I want him gone.
I think we as fans get to caught up to much in pigeon holing players and assigning them positions because they played there for maybe 15 to 20 games in the juniors. North don't need to be drafting people to play set positions , they need players with flexibility and a hard edge like Tom Stewart, for example. Tauru could be that bigger body mid or some dash from a wing , maybe even go forward from time to time in games to throw the opposition . We need to inject some more physically into our team ( Comben, Archer ) We do not need to be splitting pick 2 and not getting what we really wanted to get. What is the point of pick 18 which will become 21 anyway. We don't need more juniors at this point. We need to get games into Bergman , Goater , Hardeman , George , Dawson , Goad and now Stevens and Konstanty !!!!!!! Only 22 spots in the seniors each week. ps.... unless the AFL change it to 25 at last minutes notice. Great podcast 👍

If that’s the case, regardless of the end result(Tauru +Trainor) you talk of, which would be great, we need to get some decent operators in our recruiting department as they have had rings run around them by other clubs, particularly Richmond. How is all this info out in the public domain? Pretty amateurish by North, in my opinion.

Armstrong is 100% better than Tauru you should defiantly pick him instead. Coming from a Saints fan.
