There will definitely be a squeeze in that HB role. Big fan of Goater but also see Hardeman as a huge potential. I actually see Bergman being pushed out. Fisher has a long contract, so I like the try of him up fwd.
Spot on with Fisher up fwd....if there is one thing I think we still lack its that Brent Daniels/Toby Bedford/Gryan Miers type of player that can work up and back. Fisher seems to be physically that type of player, but I wonder if he has the tank to play that role.
Clarko is apparently wanting Hardeman on a wing, I think Goater can play that role too. Would be good to have 3-4 players in the squad who can all rotate through both the half back and the wing
Have heard the same thing. Clarko is thought to be extremely bullish on hardeman and wanting to use his disposal to enter the inside 50. I wouldn’t be surprised if for the first time in a few years Bailey Scott finds himself a little uncomfortable as pressure starts to build for his spot.
I think with the midfield depth FOS will start as a high half forward or potentially wing. McKercher to the wing also. FOS impacted around goal a lot in his U18 career.
Are any of the half backs tall enough to play as utility forward type. The other option is identify some guys that could do midfield and then try to develop them as a midfield at VFL level. Giving them 100% match time and develop the running patterns and skills. Then bring them in. Players may be frustrated but sometimes development is better at VFL WAFL SANFL then playing on off bench or backpocket at AFL level.
Tucker, Bergman, Dawson, Hansen, George (constantly injured), Teakle (sorry), Stephens, pink, sellers, free all delists 💔 don’t want to be a dick, but can’t see these lads getting a run in a top 8 side. That leaves 30 odd in the squad. 22 starters. That’s 8 players vying for spots who I consider AFL standard. Is it enough? Maybe
Bit harsh on George & Teakle.. club bullish on George & Teakle kicked a goal a game & provided a tall option up forward and in the ruck which we desperately need.
@ maybe I’m under-rating Teakle. George has been on the list for years now and has been injured the entire time. Some bodies just aren’t up to it, sadly. Not his fault. By all accounts a wonderfully talented kid
Would add fisher to that list tbh. Played a lot of games in a bad Carlton side, but was quickly removed as soon as they started seeing success and needed to get serious. Our 2023 trade period will age like milk in the sun
He did in plenty of games this year. We weren’t saying thats his best position , but to get him in the team last year he was off half back plenty of times.
@@furthernorth34 Agree. How many folks out there actually take the time to factor a how zone defence with a midfield and forward line leaking like a sieve for 5 years impacts the guys stuck on the last line of defence? McDonald & Corr have actually been heroic when all things are considered. They have been completely bombarded for the best part of the last 5 years.
“Goater is made of balsa wood “
Classic line Marnie… made me chuckle for a while 🙂
Good chat guys - thanks for posting.
Our pleasure!
The fact that we have so many options is great. They can all fight for a spot , Its what will push us up the ladder play well or play reserves.

He doesnt play tough enough,he's not best 23

Absolutely agree!
If we are still playing MacDonald we are in trouble down there
I'm afraid that his seniority will keep him in the 23. Hopefully other players will make such strong case that they will force the selectors' hands.
Reality is he’s probably playing every game next season…like it or not, that’s just the way it is
Well one positive we know he will defend first
He's a great player - if only his execution was elite. Frustrating because it could be - he loses focus.
Hardeman ona wing

Can definitely see that! Bull, Zane, Eddie, Parker, PC, potentially Sheez and Jy as well, lots of half forward options.

Fisher needs to getaway from the backline.
Luke McDonald is a great bloke, a true roo - but I'm sorry, there's no way he makes the seniors barring horrific injuries to all our depth in defence.

I want to see how Brayden George goes before writing him off, but I agree with the majority of these.
@@gustaaf1892 Would love to see Braedon George play several games in the seniors and just see what X factor he can offer

FOS won't play a single minute back.
Goater over Hardeman atm, hope they both keep building.
Fisher doesn't go missing 🤣🤣🤣.. ok who does josh really work for shil
If fisher can't play wing or small forward catch ya
Powell does not play off half back wrong type of player your cooked

i rate tucker over fisher
McDonald isn't under any pressure. This only exists as a social media meme that has been embraced by football illiterates.
L Mac is definitely best 23, but there is pressure with all the defenders on the list

Hardeman has been slated for first crack on a wing..
