Darling started off poorly, then really picked up as the season went on. The game he got dropped the Eagles basically didn't do a tackle (the WCE and Saints game in Melb). So he will compete and contest in the air. You won't often get defenders taking easy marks. Overall he isn't that short and defenders are a lot taller now, so he doesn't grab as much in the air as he used to. That's the issue. Surely h may have lost flexibility and spring, but its more about his height I reckon.

Don't forget North lost two games they shouldn't have (Collingwood and WC) and probably should've beaten Melbourne as well. That would have been 6 wins. So there should be no reason with natural development and any new additions that we're not around the 8 win mark next year

Beside Larkey, North next best goal kicker I think was 9. Jack Darling is going to kick more than 9 goals in a season. If he does, he has done his job
