    Thank you. I wonder what else was in the update. I've been totally happy with my DJI camera, mic 2 and the wrist remote. Everything just works.

    Wayne but did you try those mics from the snapshot feature? Either there will be no recording or a white noise type of thing while it recognizes the mics. Could you do a test?

    Hi Wayne,
    Any recommendation for a mic, for creatiing e-biking videos with a OA4 with a chest mount and a lav mic? Be it in the city or nature. What lav mic would you recommend?
    I'm a beginner to audio, but looking for some street ambience and a clear voice recording.

      I like using the Sennheiser XS lav (USB-C version) with my Action 4. Plugs directly into the camera, no adapters needed. It's less sensitive than some other lavs so less prone to clipping in you have it close to your mouth and I think it's only ~$60.

    • @raczyk
      @raczyk 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @WayneRECs thank you for recommendation. And if one would also want to record ambient noise, of traffic, nature etc. Would the XS mic pick that up when close to ones face.
      Or could one record a second channel ambient noise somehow with a second mic? Can action 4 record multiple audio channels? Maybe a sound recorder would be a good option for ambient sound?

    • @freelyroaming
      @freelyroaming 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ok that was it. I had to update the transmitter firmware to v04.03.08.31 before this appeared in the menu for me.

    • @WayneRECs
      @WayneRECs  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I think the TX needs the latest firmware from 1/31/24. The TX also has to be connected via BT to the Action 4 for the option to be displayed.

    • @WayneRECs
      @WayneRECs  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on what you're using it for. The DJI Audio adapter seems like it's specifically designed to attenuate mics for moto use. Alternatively, finding a low sensitivity USB-C lav might also work.

    How do you find latest firmware updates?

    • @WayneRECs
      @WayneRECs  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For the Action 4, it's typically done thru the DJI MIMO app on a mobile device. The app downloads the FW and then installs it when the camera is connected to the app.
      For the DJI Mic 2, the FW files need to be downloaded from the product page downloads and then manually copied onto the root folder of the devices when connected to a computer via USB-C. Once disconnected, the devices automatically begin the update process.

    my problem was that the mic 2 wouldn't reconnect instantly back to the camera when using the snapshot feature. About 4 out of 5 times it would take more then 10 seconds to reconnect AFTER the camera would start recording. I was so disappointed that I didn't use it anymore, I even had no idea about the 15 minutes problem :) Now it's better, it maybe does it 2 out of 5 times but still it's not reliable. Why are they not adding an option to keep the BT connection active when the camera goes to sleep, I don't know ...

    • @TwoTubesADV
      @TwoTubesADV 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's the problem I experienced. I thought this set up would be ideal for motovlogging but if the mic wont reconnect after stopping recording then it's useless and so need to use a wired mic

    • @ioandragulescu6063
      @ioandragulescu6063 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TwoTubesADV what I do, I have the front screen on the osmo4 set to be on, I wake up the camera ( long press on the record button) and then wait until I see in the motorcycle mirror the message on the front screen of the osmo4 that the mic 2 is connected and then I start recording. I also use the dji remote attached to my mirror arm. It's not ideal but it works 100% of the time. You should probably do this while stopped though :)) But I still don't get why DJI can have the bluetooth connection on, for the remote, when the camera is in sleep mode but not for the mic 2. What's also annoying is that after 30 minutes of sleep the camera turns itself completely off and then even the remote disconnects, which is just stupid. People keep asking them on the official forum (me included) to have the option of having the camera never turning off while in sleep mode and have the mic 2 BT connection stay on but DJI seems to ignore these for now. Maybe with a future firmware update ....

    hey Wayne I was watching some of your videos on this subject lately and I want to use a Comica Vimo C3 wireless microphone set with the dji osmo action 4. I bought a TRRS jack 3.5mm to USB C but the audio is recorded at a very bad quality. Then I saw your video and got the TRS 3.5mm jack to USB C and this one doesn t even send proper signal.
    The mic set has no problem when connected to a normal camera or sound card.

      @@medianopol Generally, the Action 4 handles usb-c audio much like a mobile phone does. In fact, many of the 3.5mm TRS to USB-C mic adapters were initially designed with phones in mind. So if you have a mobile device with USB-C, you can test it that way. If you haven't already, check out this video th-cam.com/video/U_GiSphFFwQ/w-d-xo.html
