Custom RV Office Desk – Our RV Renovation
[0.8] While renovating our RV, we removed the dinette and built a custom office desk. It has LED back-lighting, drawers, a retractable keyboard tray, and cable raceways to conceal the wiring. In this video, we go over the process of the build, as well as the tools and materials required to make it happen.

Please keep in mind, we are not experts, so it would be wise not to use this video as your only resource. This series is more about us getting used to RV life and the process of documenting it all, and is not meant to be proper episodes, more like preseason episodes. However, we do try to make them a little informative and hopefully somewhat entertaining. We officially go live with real episodes based on travel in April of 2020.

RV the Florida Panhandle: Holiday Campground on Ochlockonee Bay
มุมมอง 2.5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
[0.6] We suddenly had to take an unexpected trip when Hurricane Dorian was projected to get uncomfortably close to where we were still deep in the renovation process of our RV on the Florida Space Coast. We decided to make the best of it and booked the only open lot (being Labor Day weekend) at Holiday Campground on Ochlockonee Bay in the Florida Panhandle. We stayed just outside of any affects...

Meet Maria
มุมมอง 2.8K5 ปีที่แล้ว
[0.1] In January of 2019, newlyweds Dean and Gina purchased a pre-owned Class A motorhome with plans to renovate the rig and travel the country. Named “Maria”, after the hurricane that forever changed the course of their lives, they brought her from Okeechobee to their home in Melbourne, Florida. She is a 2004 Tiffin Phaeton 35RH; a thirty-five-foot "Class A" diesel pusher with a Cummins 300HP ...

    Awesome...well done! I'm opting to take components from my home office and install them into my RV. My only real task will be anchoring it all without breaching the interior unsafely. I just don't need unsealable holes that can invite moisture. Anchoring the desk shouldn't be an issue, but then anchoring the monitors to the desk...that might be something else. I'll make it work. 🫡

    Awesome video. Thank you for the post. I think that your tips will help us tackle reflooring our RV soon. Just remember to be careful when mixing cleaning products together. Hydrogen peroxide and vinegar can create peracetic acid and be very harmful if inhaled (even with a mask).

    Thank you for making this video. We are upgrading a 1981 park model. The walls were redone but the vinyl paper on the ceiling has ripped and shrunk due to the AZ hot summers (we snow bird so we aren’t here in the extréme heat. We have tried all the ways you mentioned to remove, and the heat is the only thing that works. Thank you, thank you, thankyou!!! I am so glad i found you and this video. Good luck on your restoration. You are probably done by now.

    I am curious how much one can do with a gaming setup in an RV. Presumably, with a gaming PC, you would have to be hooked up for power as they are quite the electricity hog. What about wifi? How does one ensure enough bandwith for gaming? I myself have a duel monitor desktop setup with a beasty PC that I use for work and gaming. I actually work part time in a form of game design so I need a gaming PC, a laptop just can't handle what I do. I have been wondering if I could do this reliably in an RV. My husband and I live in an area where housing is getting extremely difficult to afford or obtain, in addition to the rising costs of housing and basically everything right now, and we're looking at other options for housing. Being able to continue my work is key, it's a significant chunk or our income. I've looked at RVs that have the space for a desktop set up, but I haven't seen people talking much about how to ensure enough power and a good enough connection.

    Hi! My husband and I recently bought a 10-year-old fifth wheel trailer. We would like to take the carpet up and replace it with laminate. In your video you stated that the flooring used was recommended for a climate controlled area. Our question is why? We can’t understand what difference it would make. Also, I’m curious how your floor held up and if you had any thing that you would have done differently. Thank you! Michele. My husband is a contractor but the rv world is new to us!

    Do you have any issues with your computer equipment shifting while you’re in transit?? I don’t have plans to build out a specific area for my office equipment, I’m just going to use my dinette. But I’m worried about whether or not my work equipment will be safe to leave out on travel days, or if I should plan to store it every time. I would appreciate any advice that you have!

    Hi there 🤗 ! Quick question, actually a big doubt, please help me. 🙏 I don't know which floor should I install on my rvcamper. I'm in doubt about vinyl plank or vinyl sheet. Which do you recommend me? Planks looks better but I've read some comments that they may separate while traveling. What has already happened with the floor you have and again what do you recommend me? Thank you

    • @rickrangel
      @rickrangel ปีที่แล้ว

      @Stephannie Mendes Hi there. I wanted to reply to your question. Unfortunately, putting vinyl planks is not a solution. The floor/planks will buckle when you are traveling on the road causing the planks to detach. It is NOT recommended to put planks in a RV. If the unit is not going to traveling or be living in the unit and not moving the RV, then yes you can put down planks. Its recommended to use sheet vinyl in a roll, but that gets really tricky. I hope this helps. I noticed you posted your comment 8 months ago. You probably already did your floors in your RV. What kind of floor did you put in after all? .........Rick

    Wow your rig looks great! My husband and I are putting down new floors in our RV and we found several rounded bolts which I assume attach to the frame. Unfortunately the bolts are not flush with the subfloor. We are unsure how to lay the vinyl planks across them. Did you come across this problem?
