  • [0.1] In January of 2019, newlyweds Dean and Gina purchased a pre-owned Class A motorhome with plans to renovate the rig and travel the country. Named “Maria”, after the hurricane that forever changed the course of their lives, they brought her from Okeechobee to their home in Melbourne, Florida.
She is a 2004 Tiffin Phaeton 35RH; a thirty-five-foot "Class A" diesel pusher with a Cummins 300HP engine on a Freightliner raised-rail chassis. She has a single slide-out in the main living area and three 200 watt solar panels.

I love the name of your channel! This is a choice not a last resort to live an adventure!
We are just starting out too... many many many more renovations than you to go.. like a full rebuild for us! Good job! Great goal and smart for taking the time to plan everything!

Legally Homeless do you mind me asking what you paid? We are looking for a class A & hoping not to go over $40k & then fix it up inside

@@juliesotelo3771 That was exactly our top number when we started shopping. We got it for $35k, but it ended up having even more issues than our inspector found. In the end, everything worked out, though, and we're happy. I highly recommend going with diesel over gas, especially when buying a rig over 10 y/o. Also, they are a hot commodity, so we had a hard time even getting out to see any rigs (we're in FL) because by the time we saw the listing and called, it had already been sold. We used RvTrader.com and set it up to alert us whenever a rig was posted that met our criteria. We were the first to show up for the rig we bought and put a deposit down on it that day. Also, make sure you find a good "RV Surveyor" (aka inspector) to look over the rig before you buy. They can be pricey, but they can save you a lot of time, money, and heartache in the long run. They don't look at the engine and chassis, though. You'll also have to get a mechanic to inspect that aspect as well. Good luck! -Dean
