Hey love the channel, haven't seen anything new lately hope all is well with you.
@tradhunter5976 Thanks!! I'm hoping to get out there soon. Busy on the farm this time of year!
@@itslattice4195 Cool thanks
Hi Jay, Do you sell any of the specimens ? Bob T
Hi Bob. I don't currently. I used to do ebay. Mostly crystals and slabbed agates from old collections.
Lots of depth
So nice
Love yer channel me friend! Liked & Subed! We currently be in the high desert by the reservoir Great hounding in the area, can't wait ta cut the video's! Looking forward ta more of yer excursions mate! Many Blessings 🙌
Thanks! Much appreciated. I have a 4 day weekend. Can't wait to do some collecting out that way. Might take the boat to the res and use it to explore for rocks.
Call the police. This is not normal, at all. Update us on the abandoned car, if possible. Nice finds.☺️
I called as soon as I got to service. Never got an update. Nothing made the news. I'm guessing it broke down and they walked out.
I think that big weird semi oval shaped cast was a mushroom.
Could be. I'll have to look at it closer now that you say that. That same day, I found one that looks like the endocarp of a walnut.
@@itslattice4195 lithified Mushrooms are quite rare if it is. I have found mushrooms in the ground that have cavities shaped very similarly to that piece! What a great find either way
Hi Jay, Thank you for your videos, I really enjoy them and have learned a lot by watching them. We just bought our first piece of equip a H P 16-110B Slab Saw, and it is wonderful what a joy to use, I was just watching this video, at 9:45, what a beautiful piece. What do you recommend in filtering your oil, someone told me to use a paper bag? What would you suggest for our first sander, a flat lap sander, or a wheel type? Thank you, Tom
Right on! Thanks a bunch. Can't go wrong with a Richardson's high speed sander for bigger specimens. It can get it to pre-polish pretty fast. If you want to cab or make small specimens, a Genie or Titan are good choices.
Nice! Looks like you found a blueish one. Found me lots of urban agates in bend landscaping rocks. One day I just walked around for 3 hours and found about 30 pounds of agates that size. 🎉😊
Nice! Never know what you'll find out there. My best one yet is a good sized sagenite
That jasper is incredible.
Hi Jay, Did you get that big pw by the tree or did someone else; we were heading out east towards Hampton area and noticed it was missing? Take care, Tom & Tye
Hi Tom and Tye! Somebody else got it within a week or two of me posting that video. I was amazed by how fast it disappeared. I've been looking at it in the roadcut for years everytime I drove by. Post a video, gone. Lol.
Famous last words just stop looking down don't look down anymore I don't want to care anymore don't look down wait there's something cool there
Is lattice a type of rock? Or wall? Airhugs of positive loving energy to you and yours roock on
The crystal lattice found in quartz and other minerals.
@@itslattice4195 thanksaybe you could show some in your video? Where do you suggest a 57 year old with a bad knee go hounding in central Oregon I'm in Bend
How do you know where to zone out?
I just try to systematically check areas. Sometimes, it's a long walk between finds, but you never know until you mark it off the map.
Cool and sweet
TATERS ?
Pine cones would be pretty crazy… that looks like another awesome spot to go digging around
Yeah this area produces some of Oregon's finest Iris agate, dendrite agate and various other amazing materials. I've seen some amazing pieces from out there. Especially the pink pinecone!
bubbly m8
Wheres a good place to go close to bend?
East of town in drainages, areas of erosion, rocky areas on hillsides, etc. Lots to be found. If you want to go to known areas, look up Hampton Butte, Dendrite Butte, Maury Mountain. Those are all good areas to look. Compare where those are on a map and you'll see that they all are between highway 20 and highway 380.
Howdy Jay! Its been awhile! Good to see you kicking rocks man! I look forward to seeing more of your finds!
Hey Dave! Been so busy on the farms that I haven't been able to get out much. I'll be back at it in July!
I loved the botryoidal piece right at the beginning
Dang
Super nice
I wouldn’t say nothing. That’s a very nice chunk of orbicular jasper! Glad to see you are still posting videos! Looking forward to seeing more soon!
I'll be back at it in July. I work on 2 farms so we are in the busy season right now.
So we basically saw nothing
Stay tuned for part 2!
I love the one you left! Great finds. I just got back from the area and found some nice pieces but nothing like those.
Nice! Do you post videos on YT?
@@itslattice4195 yes I do. Been mostly scuba diving and fossils but doing some overlanding and rock hounding videos this year.
Please tell me where you were… I’m drooling. I live in eastern Oregon but never found a hill like that!
Crook County outside of Prineville
Why not at night with a laser pointer? They would glow as the laser passes through. Seems like a cheat code.
Creepy situation at the beginning of the video, just randomly found this channel, looking forward to seeing more rockhound videos
Right on! Do you post videos of your Appalachian adventures?
Yes, mostly rockhound type videos
@@diggingappalachia954 give me a link so I can sub and watch your vids!
I’m not sure how to do that, I always just touch someone’s logo to get to the channel, I’ll ask my wife how though
@@diggingappalachia954 just subbed. I'll check out some videos later
Amazing find 👌🏽
Thanks 👍
Please message me where you are hunting . Thank's I do live in Silver Lake .thank you
Interesting and pretty. I'm DelNorte CA. Our agate is very different. Its cool seeing other stuff
Really cool rockhounding. How far from Prineville is it?
Takes around an hour and a half to get out there.
My favorite places are in the Ochocos, haven't found this spot, but I do have material very similar to what you are finding.. Nice find!
Thanks! Been out to the Ochocos this year?
Holy shi......! Man, what a killer spot! Any recommendations for a rockhounding road trip? Ill be up in LaPine for two nights and would love to make it out to someplace like that!
The ochocos have a lot to offer. So does highway 20 east of Bend. Lots of hills to explore out there. All around Prineville reservoir there is opportunity. I usually just pick a block of BLM and go check it out.
Dude! Let’s go Rockhounding together sometime! I live in Bend.
Right on! We'll have to plan an adventure.
@@itslattice4195 Heck yeah dude! What's your Instagram handle? (Trying to figure how to get in touch without posting our emails on here)
Oh look a dinosaur egg
Call on the person first dude. Damn
Hi I just joined your channel. Thank you for sharing your finds. Sending you airhugs of positive loving energy to you and yours
Thank you!
Some absolutely amazing finds there! Keep your cards close to your chest and don’t lay them on the table (but you know that!).
Good call!
Great channel! Love the Ochocos! Rich history in those hills and central Oregon in general. Spanish explorers were digging up gold in the 1600’s.
Thanks a lot. Yeah I've always wanted to drop down Spanish Gulch and look for gold. Ever been out there?
Thanks!
Am i missing you view or are u being way to pickie..i saw several good ones right in front of u?? Explain please ❤😂🎉 11:59
Great Journey kid❤😂🎉😅😊 29:11
I am super picky now. I'm sure I left some good ones. That'll make it fun next time I go there!
Last one was beautiful but I don't blame you for not wanting to haul it out. It looks really heavy😮💨
Would love to see some slabs cut sometime if possible? You find some beautiful pieces.
What an awesome video and depiction of what to find out there. The Ochocos are my favorite place to rockhound. Great finds, and great video!🥳⚒️🫡💯🪨🔥
Interesting, I think I know where this is at. Family friend was talking about finding some 'colorful rocks' on a side road in the ochocos.
Go get some!!
@itslattice4195 funnily enough, me and my paw are going to soon! He came and bought some sprouts from you a couple of weeks back.
@@ghosttownguy7472 that's awesome! Hope the garden grows good. Let me know what you find. Good luck!!
Sweet!!!
I found a sick Jasper in a similar rock pile outside of the Pantry the other day. It almost looked like it had already been slabbed.
Super similar to Nydegger! I assume it comes from somewhere near Post?
Yes indeed.
