I have the black version. I had it serviced 3 years ago by Omega as I bought it second hand. If I wind it and leave it it'll last for 48hrs before stopping which is correct. If I wear it and take it off at night it'll last for about a day before stopping. I had a Seamaster 552 from the 60s which would last for three days and was half the thickness.

This is equal to boeing 747 of the watches 😊

This is one of my favourite Rolex, along with the Day Date 36mm, and the Submariner Date 41mm black on black. What are yours?

Nobody dives with a dive watch hundreds of feet under water, they use dive computers. A yacht master is an upgraded version of the submariner, just less water resistance being less of a tool watch. But like I said, nobody is diving hundreds of feet under water with a Rolex submariner, so the water resistance is useless in the submariner to me. 100ft is just fine on a Rolex, that’s perfect for daily use and even if you want to go swimming with it.

I’ve got one. Love it. Nearly a perfect watch (a bit on the thick side). I have it on bracelet, which might be why.

What a horrible looking watch. Is this the best Rolex can do? lol. I guess adding a one new complication every 12 years is a big thing for Rolex collectors. Changing the color of the dial seems to be the extent of Rolex’s innovation. I do have to give props to Rolex marketing for taking a high volume tool watch and turning into a luxury brand.

The 20mm range of on-the-fly adjustment on the Submariner sounds like overkill, but the 5 mm of the Yachtmaster can be too little for some people. My watch has a total 9 mm range, and I use 5 out of the 6 positions on any given day...

Both are outstanding watches. I prefer the darker red and darker blue of the Tudor. It looks more upscale/elegant. The more robust size of the Tudor is also a fine quality.

This question is for Rolex experts here: When the back of a Rolex GMT (or Submariner) is opened, does the watch need to be pressurized for proper water-proofing?

I would say there is a bit of hype - simply due to the scarcity of the watch. That having been said - it is one of the few watches I really took notice of on someone’s wrist. Others include: IWC pilot, a beautiful Patek, a Fifty Fathoms. A Royal Oak. So it’s in good company.
